Are new algo's still profitable to mine?

Read the post just above you maybe? Roll Eyes

hi peoples, what are you mining this days ?
Destiny 2 with a hashrate of 144 fps. It's bottle-necked by my monitor but hopefully I'll get my hands on an ultra-wide 200Hz one soon.

Oh and the new algo called HEX. It was created by the developers of XDNA. The XDNA coin is still new but it's already traded in two big exchanges, Cryptopia and Crypto-Bridge. It's also offering 2% of the block's rewards for charity and since they had no ICO and about only 0.7% premine (more info) I'm sure it'll fly sooner or later, if you don't mind mining & holding this coin is a good bet.

Except if by profitable you mean "mine today + sell tomorrow = profit > power consumption"
You'd need to risk a bit by holding... no bet to gain! Wink

With mining, of course, the prices for video cards have risen very much. I myself look closely at the line of Nvidia and here the price for them will drop after the release of the next line. In general, I think mining with the rise of the market will still show itself in all its glory. Only when the market begins to grow is this a big question

I completely agree with you

And to contribute something, I am doing X16R to nicehash with enemy 1.15a.  I preordered 1 2080 ti and 1 2080.

Also sold and 8 x 1080 ti rig for a BCU1525 hosted by Mineority so I don't have to deal with setup.

Good luck everybody else!

Lol, why in the world would you buy two brand new cards, pay the premium price for them, and try to ROI in this shit mining market with zero data on mining performance?

I'm selling both of my GEforce 1080Ti's if anyone in the UK is interested. Only a few months old. £580 or 0.125 BTC each with free delivery. PM me if interested
It`s still rather high price as for me. A year ago i bought 1080ti`s for $650-700. And i see the new cards are coming. And mining now is not far from electricity cost. Let`s wait.

You are correct about the price. I will accept £880 for both.

What algo is the best to mine with 1080ti?

And does the brand of 1080ti matter?

X16r on Nicehash is giving me over double what I normally get today.  I have been noticing these spikes coming and going.  This is the third time it happened.  Last time it lasted about half a day.  The time before it lasted 2 or 3 days.

A good source of info on what you should currently mine is

www.whattomine.com

It will tell you algo, daily est coins and income, and can give you power cost estimates.
Congratulations! U made the first step in cryptoworld!  Grin
It`s too late to mine, if a coin in the top of wtm. Use other calculators, search other coins if you want to have profit.

The thing with the new cards is that they're much more expensive and it'll take some time for miner developers to take advantage of the new hardware.
Also there is a limited supply of new cards.
Because of the above reasons, it'll take a looong time for miners to upgrade... and it will more likely require an entire bull run on the market before people rush to buy cards for mining purposes.

Neoscrypt coins are pretty good with NVidia cards. The pool depends on the altcoin you decide, each coin is doing differently in each pool so you would just have to identify the major pools of each altcoin and look at the block frequency and payouts and see if the other pools block frequency and payouts are worth it. For example one pool may get a block every few minutes but withe a fraction of a coin as a reward while another may get a reward once every few hours but get a large portion of the POW reward due to low amount of miners on the pool (so your miners are a higher percentage of the total hashrate).
It has the same problem as RVN - it`s nicehash friendly. So if you are monitoring all the time, there is it - you can get some profit, else - you cant find any block.

I think that 1080Ti will be else at least 1-2 years the best GPU for miners and for gamers. Maybe new generation of NVidia cards will be a little bit better, but, frankly speaking, there is no need for better performance.
After 8K+ TV and new heavy games will be necessary.
