I'm trying to get the maximum hash possible which requires higher TDP while at the same time attempting to keep heat down.

If I have to roll back TDP because of heat then I will.  Partly why I'm fishing around for heat figures and what is deemed generally good values to shoot for.

I just added two msi duke cards and with 100% tdp 80% fan they run about 63-64c.  This is in a 6gpu frame with fans blowing on them ambient 20-22c.

Kinda disappointed they run so warm with huge coolers on them.

What do you guys like to see for temps?  Is mid 60s OK for 24/7 use?
I prefer less than 60 centigrades. 100%TDP is bullsh1t imho. Wouldn't even run my cards that high if my electricity were free

It's a breadcrumb. They are telling you that you can make x amount. If you are making less at least you know that you could do better. So try harder.

Its not a breadcrumb.  its so you will message them and they will want .01 bitcoin in return for the knowledge.

well if it 0.01 then it is not bad. It can go up to 0.05 BTC  Grin

These last 48h I did something like 4,7$/card/day on ahashpool

Wondering how I can do better

You can, but you have to get skill to find new shitcoins and take a risk.

You do this with wich coin ?

Guys What and where are u mining now a days , The Profit is decreasing day by day on niche coins and auto exchange pools like ahashpool , I am thinking about switching to More knowns coins like zcash etc
Not to long ago 10$ per day for a ti was usual but now even making 5$ is difficult and require a lot of experience of market etc
Also what about argo is it still more profitable mining it last I checked the only exchange it was offered on had some problems .
Anyways gonna keep on holding my coins who knows 5$ a day today will be 50$ a day someday in the future .
If you're actually just holding your coins then todays price doesn't matter.

Are we talking about Garlicoin (GRLC) here? Cheesy

That's Scrypt-N  At least for a few more hours anyways.

I was mining CROP coin the other day which is using Neoscrypt.  My Afterburner and cards were going crazy.

can anyone help me or explain this.  I have my profiles set to lock my voltage at 900.  And when I mine equihash my voltage, GPU clock and Mem Clock are static and do not fluctuate at all (desired) Power draw is also locked in at around 212W

When I was mining Neoscrypt on the same profile my voltage was jumping all around as was my GPU clock.  My power consumption also went up to 250W (100%)
I cant explain this.  I thought locking in the voltage was the whole point to prevent this?

True that. Allium now...

I observed Neoscrypt to be very power consuming when I mined Feathercoin with ccminer_cuda9.1. What miner do you use?

CCminer.  But i thought the whole point of afterburner  was to lock in the settings.  I didnt think the miner effected that unless i specifically called out OC and temps etc in my BAT files.

ETH the second most profitable coin on a 1080 Ti, that's surprising.
Its not.  Only when its compared to other obscure coins, including one that uses Scrypt as the algo.
What isn't?

[original post: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.30084419 seems to better suit this discussion.]

Happy mining all,

having recently built a 5 x NVIDIA 1080ti rig and experimented with different coins and miners, I thought it's time to share what I achieved and failed at mining altcoins with you.

In short summary, ZCASH turned out to be the most profitable coin for me followed by ETH. Monero (Cryptonight) seems to work most efficently in terms of GPU load; but it takes ages to mine...

I share my google sheet with you. There you can find all the experiments I tried with further mining details and OC configurations. I'm eager to hear your comments.

The safest bet is to mine something like zcash.  Difficulty is high and reward is low. 4-5$ per 1080ti.  Zencash may also be a fairly safe bet and be slightly better than zcash for profit.  Both of those may be worth holding long term.  Zcoin is another one that has kinda held on there in the 35-45$ range and not really cratered.  Is it a better project than zencash?  I couldn't tell you.  I do like lyra2z though for power and heat savings.

I'm sure there may be exceptions to this however most other coins you mine are going to be either known scam/trash coins or ones that might be we just don't know yet.  There are probably a few diamonds in the rough but right now they're still buried so to speak.

I sympathize with people that don't really want to mine a "shit" coin and play the constant sell and exchange game all the time.  If you're trying to make a living at doing this though with a lot of equipment running and bills to pay I'm not sure you can avoid that so easily.  For a hobbyist though you can do whatever you want there tends to be less at stake.

Closer to $3/day these days.... Sad

Mine does 840 h/s @ 126W 56C +110 clock -500 mem clock with 60x34 launch-config ccminer
People report up to 900 but can't seem to go near the drivers crash if I overclock more
What's the best hashrate you can pull with monero cryptonight?  Huh

90% of the posts here are "you can make much more but I won't tell you how".

Fine.

Don't tell us.

But do you have to post that statement?
