I’m not sure being here for 12 years makes me a legend, but it does show that I’m a little bit insane. I can’t imagine any sane person putting up with the harassment I’ve received from forum members here on and outside this forum, yet here I am. I honestly hope that this forum isn’t used to harass others in the way I have been, but am grateful to be the steel hardened with the hottest fire.
The journey to the top is filled with challenges that will test and shape you into the best version of yourself. No one reaches the top without experiencing harassment or disappointment from other people along the way. Thank God you refrained from leaving the forum due to the harassment. The negative experiences you had on the forum are now things of the past that you should completely forget about and never remember.

I’m not giving any more merits to users beyond this post in an attempt to let this thread die without locking it. Stay safe. Stay happy. Stay honorable.
Regardless of merit, the majority of the forum members that will see this post of your 12 years in the bitcointalk forum will still celebrate you afterward because you deserved to be celebrated for staying in the forum for more than a decade. Not everyone has the ability.

Maintain your strength and integrity at all times. Those of us who observed your goodness and recognize your value in the forum, won't hold back in expressing it. Stay bless OgNasty

I really appreciate all the ego inflating comments on this thread. I typically only hear negative feedback from a handful of users so it’s even a bit surprising to get so many positive responses.

There's no need for too much surprise. When the time comes for you to be recognized for all of your hard work and efforts, you will be generously appreciated, regardless of how much negativity has been associated to you in the past.

Simply being able to keep up with all of the harassment certifies you as a forum legend. You now know your genuine self and how important you are in this forum. This is your moment to receive all of the plaudits you deserved from day one but did not receive.

The title of the post and the name of the OP will not enable the topic to go off just like that. You're a true legend, so let the congratulations continue while you sit back and watch how you're getting praise and acknowledged for your achievements and contributions in the forum.

Your projects are fairly well known on the forum and particularly in the collectibles board,
When is the next one? 15 years forum anniversary?

I don’t know to be honest. I have ideas but there are things holding me back that I don’t feel the need to highlight. However, given that I have negative trust from the default trust network, it doesn’t seem appropriate for me to continue launching new products and services here anyway. I want my work to be appreciated, not attacked. That’s one of the reasons why for the last 5 years I have been focusing a majority of my efforts elsewhere, like almost all the other talent that once graced this forum.
Negative trust from the default trust network in your profile should not be used as an excuse or make you pessimistic about launching a new product or service on the forum. You have the provisions to work in the forum, your experience in the past allows you to continue the story by launching new products. 6 negative trusts is not worth 73 green trusts, as long as you can maintain faith in the services you offer, your work will be appreciated by forum members.
Yes because he is a prominent figure in the forum. When I came to the forum he is one of them that I trust regardless of the negative trust. I have not seen him with any malicious act. I know that the projects will be launched in the web and not here, he can only bring the project to notification here for people to see and probably use it. I also don't think those negative feedback tags will affect the project if he run the project well here and the web. And I believe those who dropped those red tags are no longer in the forum to review them. So the next thing is that he has to continue build his reputation in the forum.

Congratulations @OgNasty on your 12th birthday since registering on the forum.
Previously I had never been involved in a discussion with you, when I found this topic I was obsessed with wanting to do crazy things like you have done. How surprised I was when I saw your profile, there I found something unusual from other users. Donor's position really surprised me, your contribution to the forum is so great that the admin gives a special award to you.
You are one of the seniors who is still active today, at least as far as I know, your guidance and experience really helps us juniors. Entering the 13th year on the forum there is still a lot you can do to add to our insights to get more knowledge from you.

OP, you are an OG in this forum and you have stayed more than a decade in this forum helping other in different area of bitcoin like you mentioned in your post. This shows that you have the zeal of carrying other people along with you as I see that good desire in you burning like a flame. You started to learn bitcoin very early unlike myself that joined this forum start year to learn bitcoin.

When I joined the forum newly,I read some of your threads that motivated me. I wish I can be patient with myself to have 12yrs experience in the forum just like you did. This post of yours is really a motivator and I believe that so many of us that just came in here not quite long will know this. I hardly visit the reputation board, that is why I commented this late.

Congratulations and Salutations.

Well another success story from another prominent member in the forum. First of all, I would say congrats on your massive achievement and I would also like to add that I am so glad to see that a member like yourself has come out to say that you have faced serious attacks and criticism during your first stages here and this will just boost the moral of newcomers here not to ever give even if they are been criticized and to take it also as a phase of correction and learning.

I would love to achieve or even attain more height in the community here and seeing threads like this I know one day it can also be a dream come true for me.

Even though I notice this thread late, you are one of the high-ranking users who offered me the first guide on how to sign a message in this forum; I have to applaud you.

Twelve years is a long time, and I am glad you were able to educate and support so many people along the way, because there are so many people who were here before and during your time and are no longer here; some lost interest, while others gave up, but you stayed strong and were open to any support for the Bitcoin community.

Congratulations on reaching the 12-year mark!

Hey! My man I celebrate with you in your birthday, you will celebrate many more years to come both in real life and in the forum. Congratulations.
I just noticed the little birthday icon on my profile indicating that today is the day I signed up for Bitcointalk!  Pretty amazing really that it's been a dozen years now.
Does the forum software or the website has such notification? I am asking because when I celebrated my one year anniversary on the month of December 6, 2022 I didn't see it or is it appearing only on specific users. I will love to see that icon.

I guess that sort of makes me one of the old guys around here.  It's been a pretty crazy ride, but I'll admit it hasn't been all that surprising.  12 years ago I signed up for this crazy forum to learn more about this new decentralized currency with a limit on the number of coins that can be produced.  I wanted to take part immediately and went from trading things for BTC, to mining, to helping others trade, then helping others mine who aren't able (through my community organization), and eventually creating cool products.  It's been an amazing ride with a lot of interesting speedbumps along the way, but still we roll on.  Smiley
Ahahahah!!! You call it crazy. This crazy forum has produced a lot of bitcoin experts in different aspects of the blockchain. And you are one of the good product. 12 years in the industry is not easy. I believed you have seen the good and bad. You even know the nice and the worse users.

Your works are good. They are nice to remember. Good works. Keep the good work. I was afraid to asked when I see your profile. Reputable scholar like you in the forum has 6 red tag. And I was wondering.

Two years difference from the beginning bitcoin was created while you are on a long journey on the forum until now it has passed 12 years of course this is a celebration of a major event where you have been doing it on the forum for a long time.

You feel how the bitcoin price was low at that time with a price range of $ 9 more, we would not have thought that bitcoin's journey was also bigger, what used to be considered an insignificant coin is now a lot of targets and moments at that time should not be forgotten.

Well I congratulate you on your 12-year journey for the forum.

Twelve years of great learning, teaching, and impacting. I read about you and it has been a good time with some challenges. But I understand that there will always be disagreements and controversies because everyone has different perceptions about bitcoin and life entirely. But I am happy you still here to mentor young members because your experienced is priceless. I want to wish you more fruitful and impactful years ahead. @OgNasty Congratulations on your 12 long years with the forum. This is a big achievement for you because many people can't stay in this forum for so long even if they want to. This is possible because of your patience and will power. Although you have got some ethical tags on your profile in these long 12 years but that negative tag didn't stop you. I just had a look at my own creation date and have just noticed I'm one week away from commiserating ten years in the Forum.  I'm not quite at the ten thousand posts mark, but it can't be too far away.

Like you I came to the forum seeking information on crypto currency when I read it had its basis in a public and private key combination like PGP before it to ensure your own funds are yours.

Here's to another dozen years (at least!) for both of us.

And in these 12 years you contributed so much here that it's safe to call you one oh historic members of Bitcointalk.
Congratulations with your anniversary and I wish that next 12 years would be even better

Still glad to see even if some forum members tainted you negatively for what activities you've done in this forum still you are here performing very well and show some quality contribution. You're presence creates good impact so hopefully even though there are some people disagree with your opinion we can still see you showing some insights on some issues need to tackle. Also congrats for 12 years of existence this is really huge because not everyone can last that long here.

Congrats Grandpa  Grin
That's 4380+ days of your life spent in this forum! Definitely one for the books!
Now you only need 4,740+ days to reach your Silver jubilee. Cheesy

Hey julerz12, you are wrong in your calculations. Og didn't spend that number of days in the forum. There were days, weeks and maybe months he didn't login to the forum. If you really want to know how many days of Og's life spent in the forum, you have to ask him to share the login time in his profile. It will be interesting to see.

Congratz! What made you interested in Bitcoin so early?
I see a few people mentioning my negative feedback. All I can really say about that is it is a bit disgraceful that so many default trust members include users like Vod in their trust networks who publicly tried to extort me. As with everything nowadays, corruption at the highest levels.

As the years go on, the chances of people like Vod and Lauda to be in the DT will reduce no matter how popular they were. For instance, someone like me who didn't meet any of them wouldn't add them to my trust list. But the issue is, whence only one DT1 member still have them in their trust list, their strength remains.
However, if they have made mistakes in one or two trust feedbacks, they can be correct in other ones. Maybe seeing them in the DT will remind members of different things about them.

I just noticed the little birthday icon on my profile indicating that today is the day I signed up for Bitcointalk!  Pretty amazing really that it's been a dozen years now. It's been an amazing ride with a lot of interesting speedbumps along the way
We have not really engaged in the forum as we mostly post in different boards and/or threads but that should not stop me (or anybody else) in taking the opportunity to at the very least to congratulate you on the 12th anniversary of you being a member in the forum. That 12 year anniversary is an incredible mark to reach and it has to be said it is a very impressive one.

but still we roll on.  Smiley
Yes you do roll on and we do too and the years keep rolling by for us all therefore raising a glass to yourself and all the rest that are have stayed around making this forum what it is today.

Thanks everyone for all the kind words. I see a few people mentioning my negative feedback. All I can really say about that is it is a bit disgraceful that so many default trust members include users like Vod in their trust networks who publicly tried to extort me. As with everything nowadays, corruption at the highest levels.
I never really fully understood what was going on during that period as I was not posting in those boards but I did discuss this with a member last year (I think) where he provided some links to various posts from years ago to try to get an understanding of what happened back then but it was still not fully clear even after I had a brief look. Anyway, that is another topic for another day I guess and for now all that can be said is congratulations to you on celebrating 12 years here.

What you achieved here with what I see as 94+ positive feedback is remarkable therefore you should enjoy the moment.

We have heard and know some of the things that have made you successful in the last 12 years, but would you also tell us what was your biggest challenge during the last 12 years of being on this forum. But before that, happy 12th birthday to you, @OgNasty.

Congratz! What made you interested in Bitcoin so early?

There isn’t just a single reason really. I liked a lot of things about Bitcoin when I first discovered it. The free transactions (once upon a time), no clawbacks, a limited number of coins, being able to mine at home, and it being open source software. Plus it was being traded 24/7 and the community was friendly and supportive. It was clear to see it was going places.

Thanks everyone for all the kind words. I see a few people mentioning my negative feedback. All I can really say about that is it is a bit disgraceful that so many default trust members include users like Vod in their trust networks who publicly tried to extort me. As with everything nowadays, corruption at the highest levels.

Looks like you already are aware of currency trading before BTC. Mining at home with just graphic cards I think was the greatest opportunity for the early birds.

There are Bitcoin users who were only aware how money works after BTC actually like me, its why we joined around 2016. We only learned it on Andreas Antonop that money becomes money when something is accepted by a community. Congrats again.

An extraordinary achievement for an elder.
I'm 5+ here and 6 years is a significant time difference between us for various achievements, especially you have more opportunities to collect bitcoin units in large denominations easily.
Still 100+ journeys for bitcoin to be complete mined, and in those years all of us who are today would be considered old (legendary) regardless of account rank.

Nah, that was edited by _BlackStar. He added that icon manually and took a screenshot to post it here.

@OgNasty, Congratulations, Man. Spending a decade on an online forum is incredible. I don't know if you ever exposed your real name or identity. I assume you are still an anonymous guy in this forum. Being anonymous and being online for a decade is not an easy job. I am glad to see that you are still interested in this forum. As I said in another thread, people might lose interest after some time. There are a lot of legendary accounts that have been inactive for a while now. We don't know if they will ever be back or not. Maybe they lose interest in the forum.

You are one of the assets of this forum. Holding 500 BTC for a long time while it has touched its ATH proves how trusted you are. In 2017, BTC was $19K, while 500 BTC was 9.5 Million Dollars. That was a considerable amount. I respect you for your honesty OgNasty.

Yes, it's only shown on the birthdays.

12 years is a big number. I am still struggling with my 2years while someone has counted 12 years already. So, when I'll be celebrating my 10yrs in this forum, you will be celebrating 20tj year. A wooping decade difference.

If you wish to write a book about your journey in this forum, it will be an interesting one. The 2nd most trusted in the forum and yet has about 8 negative tags. Reading through your feedback made me understand that many drama must have happened in the past, especially from Vod(who left upto 5 different negative feedbacks) and the TMAN.

It's cool as a memory. If I may ask, how long do you intend to remain in the forum?

I have a deep appreciation for history as it greatly influences my decision-making process. Over the past 12 years, you have witnessed remarkable advancements in the new platform and innovations, despite the significant risks involved. Fortunately, these risks have paid off handsomely. Trust is crucial in the world of escrow, and you have consistently demonstrated your reliability and competence. However, I must admit that I do miss the presence of escrow services in forums, particularly when dealing with coins that have not yet been listed on exchanges. This topic is often overlooked or not given enough attention, but it remains highly important in such situations.

What on earth I'm I doing? 12yrs? I'd like to be like you when I grow up.😅
That's a long period of time to be in this forum, congratulations to you @OgNasty, you took your time to follow every single rules and regulations in this (crazy Forum, like you called it) Forum and you're still here with us, it's a great thing to celebrate with you. I believe some other users have messed up their reputation but you stayed strong and believed that one day you'd be amongst the oldest users in this Forum. You can be old here but you're stronger when it comes to trading and giving advise to investors too.

Congrats once again sir @OgNasty

Congratulations OgNasty! It's not even 12 months since I am here. I did not have any conversation with you. Yet, I noticed some of your posts both in WO threads and other threads as well. Being in an online forum for twelve years is impressive. It seems there were a lot of ups and downs during your journey. A couple of red feedback proves the time was not good always. I understand a single person cannot be a good person for everyone. Or it's tough to maintain. Seems like you made some enemies. Still, you are in the forum and I believe people respect you. I hope you will be there for a long time. Good luck and Congratulations once again!

I just noticed the little birthday icon on my profile indicating that today is the day I signed up for Bitcointalk!  Pretty amazing really that it's been a dozen years now. Smiley

Some things I've done over the last 12 years that I think are cool...
