Those tools are very useful, although I try to be a less paranoid about it and just don't follow the day-to-day variations (unless I'm planing to buy or sell, when I follow closely in order to try and get a better deal out of the transaction).

Thanks for the note! Really useful indeed. Although i must admit, bitcointalk is still my go-to site whenever i need to know something about crypto or get updates for BTCs. But seriously though, thumbs up! Thanks for the effort!

I usually follow bitcoin price using an android app called bitcoin kan, you can add it to your list : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.btckan.app&hl=en
I also check it using mycelium wallet as they have the option to show the price In dollar or in any other local currency

When I tried some trading last year, I had bitcoinium widget set on my phone screen. I could set refreshing as often as I wanted to, as well as displaying prices in one of many currencies and I could set my fauvorite BTC exchange to get actual rates from Smiley I don't know if it's still working.

my best site to ceck bitcoin price is
https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/huobi/btccny

this site is updated every 10second so i can compare every market in real time price

I use exactly the same!
I got the site always opened in my tabs, it's nearly perfect!

Does anyone know what the premium feature is about though?

I just watch the Google value, preev value, coinbase and yobit vale. Now I go for the traders for their value. In that I'll go for one with the highest price.

Wow i am suprised I don't see www.coinmarketcap.com in the list.

But I guess it is because it isn't only to check bitcoins price but all the other altcoins.

I always have this website open in a tab to check out all the prices.

My main sites are preev.com and coinmarketcap.com markets section @
http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/#markets

There you can also see the most populair markets on volume. From what i've learned most pumps start on kraken eur market followed up by bitfinex.

I usually watch the price of bitcoins in yobit signature where it shows the price of daily ups and down and we can make trading there too.
that's a good idea. I think people daily sign in in yobit to see their signature earning, and yobit shows bitcoin price also. thats a good way to know about bitcoin price

I personally use preev and also this very handful webpage called cryptofolio.info where you can stack up all of your coins and follow their performance. I wish it stored more data than 1 week graphs since you have to pay if you want longer graphs.
For Android smartphone I just use the simple Bitcoin Ticker Price app thing.

I like Preev a lot and use it on all my devices it's fast to load and calculate values on the fly without any slowing down due to fancy interface.

I've just noticed that you forgot to add Bitcoin Ticker Widget in your list of Android apps, OP.
That's another great tool for checking bitcoin's price quickly, with graphs and prices according to a lot of different currencies on a lot of different exchanges (it can also be used for Litecoin, btw).

I used a lot preev.net/com at the beginning but now I prefer bitcoinwisdom for all the features that it has. Preev.net is simple but maybe too simple. I like to be able to look at the graph, indicators and use lots and lots of tools, which preev.com doesn't allow for. If I need to check the price in New Taiwan Dollars I use bitoex, which is basically an exchange (but has many more features) that only works for TWD though. Anyway that's the only reason I would use preev.whatever : check the current NTD rate.
Also as you said http://bitcoincharts.com/ is great for historical research.
And sometimes I also have a look at http://blockchain.info/charts, for other non-price related data that I can't find elsewhere (and they have plenty).

The CoinDesk app is also good way to watch the price plus be updated with the latest news in the bit-universe.  Grin

I will just add that there is a lightweight version app to view Coindesk latest bitcoin news (not articles).

The Android App what Im talking about is BTCkan. Aside from price monitoring in almost all of the exchanges they has news section where you can view the page in a portable one, meaning no ads and side page images.
