I have the p2pool up and running, the web page looks fine but when I attach a miner to it, I get nothing but errors about submitted share with hash greater than target.
I am using http:// rather than stratum+tcp:// Its acting almost like a clash of scrypt verses sha.
Any thoughts would be helpful.

Absolutely. The p2pool code will attempt to prevent this by forcing a higher and higher difficulty onto miners on the node; however, it can be overridden by the miner providing it manually.
You can override the difficulty higher on a node but you can't force it lower than p2pool demands.As a "nice actor" you would allow your node to dynamically adjust your share rate, or you would manually set it to something high enough not to cause the situation previously listed.

Orphan happend when bitcoin client ... use minimal or no fees protection.
I have conduce somes tests about that on Bitcoin XT (many orphan because of the fees strategies).
Return to Bitcoin Core with fixed (originals) fees ... and no more orphan.
hashing device is the same, HW errors are the sames, too.

Well, with the high centralisation of p2pool and now a very large percentage being one miner ...

I like how 75% of my shares were orphaned for 3 days before the 4PH jump then magically back to normal once it came online.
edit: looks like I spoke too soon, back to getting mostly orphaned shares.
