75% or more of my shares are being orphaned the last few days. Scratching my head on the cause here...

Everyone please update to the latest version of p2pool from the github
https://github.com/p2pool/p2pool/commit/6f55d0540ce7aa53847fad7c4ffb9a9a60c61713

This should correct the issues some have been seeing with a flood of shares.

Thx. for the hint:
p2pool.611.to is up and running the latest commit 6f55d05. Cool

Do you have an idea how to auto payout merged mined coins proportionate to the local hashing power supplied for generation?

Hi.
have a question about p2pool "payouts"

atm i see Current payout: (0.0034)=0.0034 BTC what makes that go UP/DOWN ?
when i started about 1 week ago it shows me 0.0100 3 days after i got pay out 0.01 or there abouts.
this time i took 4 days and i got much less dont know if its the current payout or something else.

i dont have massiv GH speed only 2 Antminer s1 @200Gh

It goes up when you find a share. They expire over time though so hopefully you'll reach a fairly steady state with some fluctuations.

How much you get depends on the pool rate and luck. The pool rate is down right now so you'll get a bigger share than when it was higher.

How often you get it depends on the difficulty, the pool rate and luck. difficulty is up, pool rate is down so it will be less often.

thx for the reply. that helped alot.

Question on the stats URIs ... is there one to list per-address (the number of) shares mined locally that are still considered valid ?

How can I find out if my P2Pool node found any blocks?

Compare your nodes found share hashes (8 characters) with the last 8 characters of the block hash you want to know if you found. If they match, your node found the block.

Also, a 0.5% subsidy, or bonus, is paid to the block finder, so if your payout is 0.5% higher than it was estimated to be at the time the block was found it is likely you found it, check the share vs. block hash as mentioned above to confirm.

The Rand Corporation just released a report on attacking Bitcoin that includes sections corrupting pools and paying off pool operators. Could this be an attack or is this #3 guy just a space cadet?

Nah... Just folks that have not upgraded...

If you look at his local_stats endpoint it shows "protocol_version" 15 and "version" 14... Don't recall which determines share versions...

Mine at Jonny's Pool
Surely his shares would have started to fall off the chain by now if the pool truly stopped accepting anything from previous versions as of a couple days ago.  However, his hash rate remains consistent on his pool graphs and according to the stats on windpath's node, he looks like he's got 129TH/s (he's the third highest earnings in p2pool currently).

If he's truly on an older version of p2pool how it is that he's still getting shares onto the chain?  For example, can you explain this: http://61.219.120.109:9332/static/share.html#000000000000003ebbcfa3ecb3527397b7d64035db1ad7b816e18f9a053f63c4

That share was added to the chain today.

Edit: I can also see that share on windpath's node... so it's definitely on the chain.  I can also see it says v4... so I'm not sure what's going on Tongue

If someone appears to have gotten paid, it's just because they still had shares in the sharechain (which is several days long).

As of a few days ago, outdated miners are excluded from the Bitcoin P2Pool. There's no problem or changes required.

Thanks Forrest, would you mind taking a look at this node?

61.219.120.109:9332/static/

Shows V14 (dirty), still getting paid, maybe owner upgraded his source to produce V15 shares but didn't upgrade from repository?
