WANTED: Active dev to fix & re-write p2pool in C
I use Xubuntu 12.04 64bit - it uses even less resources than Ubuntu, perfect for merge mining - especially with the OS installed on an SSD  Wink

I just have a question regarding operating systems, which system is the best to run the p2pool node on I have a Mac and a Ubuntu the Mac has 4gig RAM the Ubuntu has 2 gig?

Doesn't matter really.  I'd go for whichever has the SSD. Smiley

M

Non of them have SSD the Mac is 2009 Mac mini Ubuntu machine is about 4 years old both are duel core intel CPU and both 64 bit OS, I have just heard Ubuntu runs a lot better.

Ubuntu will probably have less overhead.  If you're planning on merge mining, you'll have a hard time using it with only 2gb.

Decentralize your hashing - p2pool - Norgz Pool

Will be happy to have you guys with us, plenty of resources to spare...

All are welcome: http://mining.coincadence.com

Where abouts is your node? I have a few Ants in Houston Texas I need to hook up

Current node is in Northern Virginia, give it a ping (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.6634671), routing on the internet and speed across great distances can often surprise you. I'd love to hear your ping results from TX...

Thanks I will get my mate to ping and let you know, I pinged it from Perth Western Australia and I got between 350ms-400ms so too far away for me. My mate pinged my node and he was getting around the same 400ms so looking for something closer to him. Thanks
Hey try my node in Singapore, I get around 120ms from Sydney and I will be migrating it to Sydney as soon as the MS datacenter is built here.

Thanks for that, I live in Western Australia and have a node here, I have a few Ants at my mates house in Houston Texas but the latency might be an issue to log them in here so just looking for a couple of good node over your part of the world to hook them into. I'm having an issue hooking them up to p2pool nodes at the minute, they will hook up to Eclipse pool but for some reason won't connect to any nodes. What is your node address in LA would like to try both yours, when it is back up (mdude77) and windpath. thanks

The address for mine is in my sig: 96.44.166.190:9332.

I'm promoting mine because I'm merge mining every coin I know of - NMC, I0C, IXC, HUC, GRP, DVC, and FSC.  (That's why I rebuilt it, I got more memory and switched to a 64-bit OS so I stop running out of memory and can merge everything under the sun!)  All merged mining proceeds get converted to BTC and fed back into p2pool for all miners to share.

--- mining.coincadence.com ping statistics ---
70 packets transmitted, 70 packets received, 0.0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 14.355/18.260/34.263/5.148 ms

Looks like I know where my backup pool is going to be Smiley

I'm setting your node as my backup for my Ants.  When I bring my node down to rebuilt it, you'll see my miners.

His is on the east coast. Mine is in LA, but down right now.  I have it rebuilt, just waiting on the BTC blockchain to download.

Latency doesn't seem to be that important.  I'm on the east coast, and I do significantly better than average with about 110 ping to my LA node.

It seems like p2pool has awaken, theres nothing I can say against.

Ofcourse its not made for me, but I still cant stop wondering where are we going with this new shiny thing??

On next reboot theres a 2% donation to who ever makes this live.

I can handle 1 orphan in a week, perhaps 2 Smiley

Yeah I was angry with the share difficult in the past, and left the pool. Now im back, if you want me or not. I can see things are much better now Wink
This is the best pool now.

Thank you..

I think that its going to the moon now.

After a few weeks well see that donations are coming back to 2% or even more.

Got the new front end up and running including miner detail pages with graphs, longer display periods for "recent blocks" & "node shares", more data integrated from the blockchain, etc...

Take a look and tell me what you think Smiley

If you have low latency to my server (US East) I'd love to try and get some additional load on it to see how the efficiency holds up.

I got some more memory for my node.  I'm going to rebuild it with a 64-bit OS so that I no longer have memory problems.. will be able to get more transactions in blocks, and will be able to merge groupcoin and huntercoin.

M

You'll need that extra memory with HUC. Don't forget Fusioncoin also...... Wink

Updated list to include I0coin:

To help other p2pool ops that may be interested in sharing their merged mining income, I have dedicated addresses you can send to that I'll then convert to BTC and feed back into the pool:

DVC: 1f56VqR9ajX3K42qSaDezvKXFmruSDg1B
IXC: xaNQ54gxowcwHyxqGtFM4vwCfS84V6fmKF
NMC: N1XhWNmvGhFL145zmQGQv7Vug6mThNh1iQ
I0C: jMDtRnMAk2WxaoAw8HUceMaxPPqAuZ8AEN

M

I've got some NMC from merge mining I will send to the address above for the pool.

Thanks for what you are doing.

Thanks!  That's unfortunately not enough to convert to BTC yet.  But it'll be included in the next big run.
