Not sure what you mean by that, nor the significance of it?

M
Not from reading earlier comments?  boggle.

The significance is, if the share is valid, it should count towards someone's credit regardless of whether or not it gets orphaned from the p2pool chain

obv that share was valid, else it wouldn't have solved a block

that one was mine =p  you get a bonus when solving a block, i think it's the transaction amt?  I got 1.04 for that last one, and .80 for the block previous

Awesome! I'm glad to help and really appreciate your information. I understand more every day! Smiley

Is .80 your average per block? What kind of m/s are you running? And card if you don't mind?

My average is about .9 per block, running around 4.8g/h.  I think you get a bonus for finding a block, which that one for him was higher.

M

Hm, so do I understand right that "4.8"g/h is equal to 4,800 mh/s?  Or 480mhz? Or.. math isn't my strong suit.

I am approaching .33 payout per block with my 560 ti, pretty pleased for not having any specific hardware. Fun.

Your getting .33 a block on a 560 ti?  The hardware charts say that card only does ~80 mhz
are you sure your not getting .033?

I'm getting ~.20 -.30 per block on 1200 mh\s or 1.2 Gh\s

So sorry, I meant in terms of US dollars. So yes, the decimal is one place off in terms of BTC. So I am getting around .03 it seems (it was high .038 before turning back down, so somewhere near here lies the median I expect). Time will tell and I'm learning a lot.

It's probably a typo and really is 0.033.  If you look at his screenshot, he is currently at 0.0221.
Yeah, that is more likely. Tongue

He may have had an extremely lucky streak of shares. I only average 0.1 BTC per block with ~580 MH/s.

I changed my bitcoin-qt datadir to E:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin\,

then run:
run_p2pool --datadir E:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin -a myaddress

it returned:
run_p2pool: error: Bitcoin configuration file not found. Manually enter your RPC password.
If you actually haven't created a configuration file, you should create one at C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin\bitcoin.conf with the text:

server=1
rpcpassword=........

I of course had created the file at E:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin\bitcoin.conf,
so what's the matter?

First of all I appreciate all the amazing information within this thread, even though it is nearly impossible to find with so many pages. None the less, thanks.

So I spent a lot of time confused and trying to learn and received little (but useful) input in the newbie thread I made here :

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/p2pool-and-general-mining-questions-97288

You can read it to get an idea of what I've gone through, but here's where I'm at now:

https://i.imgur.com/AG7Qc.png

Glad to say I busted the last block, at least that's what I take it to mean. So am I finally getting the picture? One thing I don't understand, are shares based on an average in the past 24 hours or so? Is that why my payout keeps going up without discovering new shares rapidly? I assume there is no significance of finding a block since I am in the pool (which seems effective even for my low end machine GPU Nvidia). I am enjoying the learning experience about bitcoin and to use it.

Any advice would still be great, thanks!

this is what it says when you get one yourself:

hmm, somewhere around .8, probably.

my stats are @

http://nogleg.com:9332/static/graphs.html

notice the DOA went up a lot there, that's when i added a computer behind my switch.  it gets about 50% DOA, any computer behind that switch gets 50% DOA... well, they're DOA to P2Pool, but I've had them solve blocks.  essentially cheating me out of that 500mhash or whatever.

on maxbtc, the reject rate was maybe 1 every 2500 shares or so.  dunno what the deal is with that

like this:

http://nogleg.com:9332/static/share.html#0000000000000261a8fac12041ebafe2185f671f8ce012b32f459b1d5133f778

solved a block.  but it was orphaned by p2pool, so it doesn't appear in the blocks solved list.

orphaned in favor of this:

When it says "GOT BLOCK FROM PEER," then a different node solved the block. When you solve, I believe it says "GOT BLOCK. PASSING TO BITCOIND."
It's "GOT BLOCK FROM MINER!" actually. Smiley

Hi, my average earn is about 0.0627 per block, I didn´t say i don't get payed.

I don't understand that "cutoff" and what happens with smaller miners like myself. And if there's a lottery how does it work?

Thanks for your answers.

Don`t panic! Organize!
Hi, been on p2pool for a week now, 24/7. Just heard of some kind of lottery, can someone explain this to me as i was 4???

I've seen my address with a number in front of it, 16.whatever, on a sendmany patron whatever url... what is that? Is there some extra earning on p2pool that i'm not receiving? i only get what i mine, the shares i submit, not a cent more... i like p2pool even though i might be getting more on other pools. i have 450Mh/s, sometimes on p2pool window i get as low as 200, others i get 500.

Just interested in knowing if there's some more to gain on this pool, and what am i doing wrong if i'm not getting any...

Thank you.
Go to your stats page:
http://127.0.0.1:9332/
And see how much you share/earn.
Patron sendmany is a donation for p2pool miners, by default it have cutoff for smaller ones (read wiki).
