Had a storm last night and the damn power went out. Problem is I can't get to the rig and get it going again until 8pm my time (9:35 now).

This happend to me too once. Now I'm running vpn on router and I enabled Wake-On-LAN on rigs, so I'm prepared next time.

That's not a bad idea. I have have two psu's running my rig (on is piggy-backed on for 2 of the gpu's), so it wouldn't work for me. Sad

I just have all my hardware set to automatically start after a power failure.  And I have 1 rig that has two PSUs, but both PSUs are tied into the 24 pin motherboard connector (using a splitter) so that they both turn on and off with the computer.

Personally, I prefer to use a relay on one of the molex connectors to trigger the second power supply.  But now that dual power supplies are more common, it is nice to see premade splitters so that people don't need to cut and splice their gear.

loving p2pool. just need to either figure out why windows 7 is crashing about once a day or switch to linux soon

would it be a disadvantage to host p2pool on a server about 50ms away from the mining computer?

how much bandwidth is transferred while connected to the pool? connected locally this is not an issue at all but curious if it were to be hosted remotely

advantages i can see right away would be guaranteed static ip and perfect uptime along with a great network. could even make it a public fee free pool if bandwidth use is low enough

This build just will not start for me using 0.54 or 0.6 (upgrading from the most recent p2pool).
It opens, does nothing for ~20 seconds, then closes itself again, no error produced.

What version of Windows are you using?

This post [1] says that using Twisted can instead use Windows' IO Completion Ports API to avoid this problem. Lomax42, here's a Windows build of P2Pool that does that: http://u.forre.st/u/nvaupltz/p2pool_win32_0.10.3-36-gf435a1d.zip

Set this miracle p2pool are 40 computers in the playing hall from time to time to plow p2pool. Simultaneous work vorkerov about 20 computers in the middle and constantly (about every hour it stalls and you have to restart), this window appears and begins to run her down. What I have not tried the current does not help nothing to help Christ's sake!!!!! Can someone tell me at least a way to automatically restart, too, sometimes you want to sleep. who are willing to pay to solve the problem 10 BTC.

Windows XP?

You have too many connections going on.

Try Windows 7 or Linux.

I just noticed a very high amount of stales (50+%) since today 11AM GMT. My p2pool node doesn't show any sign of trouble (cpu, memory, disk and network are OK).
All the miners connected to it seem to have trouble, see : http://linode.bouton.name:9332/static/graphs.html

The node runs current git master. Is anyone seeing similar behavior ?

If you zoom in to the hour view, it looks like it alternates between 100% DOA and normal levels. Maybe someone is attacking your node? Blocking port 9332 and restarting P2Pool would let you test that.

I'm mining on your node for testing, though, and I didn't notice any more rejected shares during one of those periods. I would look more at the mining rigs, especially "rig". ((EDIT) Since the miners besides "adsl" and "rig" aren't getting any rejects at all.)
I may have found the problem. I use some iptables rules to protect the server from DoS : I limit the rate of new TCP connexions from an IP to one port. It seems these rules have backfired : logs show that rig and adsl trigger the DoS protection.
I'm not sure what has changed to trigger the limits that weren't reached before (maybe some other unrelated network problem triggered lots of reconnexions).

Anyway this reminds me that I'm late for a 1BTC donation to you forrestv (I prefer manual donations so I deactivated the p2pool auto donate), just sent you 1BTC for your p2pool work.

Have you tried stopping and restarting your miners.

I know older version of cgminer have issues if they switch between conventional pools and p2pool.
No, I just restarted the ones identified by "rig" and "adsl" leaving the other (CPU mining on servers where electricity is already paid for) as is. I restarted p2pool when I discovered the problem, but it didn't change anything.
Everyone of them runs cgminer 2.3.1, they all ran stable, most of them for days and maybe weeks.
