There was a large withdrawal of 15,000 BTC which could only have been made from an account with "Trusted" Status.

For trusted status, physical copies of the documents must be sent by mail and they must be certified by an apostille.

Another Karp account consolidating with the rest, though these seem to be stopping on 5k splits with a chunk of ~1,166 ish going on its lonesome.

It is possible, but why would Mark Karpeles need a MtGox account to move bitcoins? Or could this be Mark's personal account?

I still think it is more likely to be an early adopter who is concerned about being a target now that their private details are being passed around criminals. Or that the criminals already got the bitcoins through coercion at the individuals private residence.

Anyone who has withdrawn thousands of bitcoins from MtGox should split the bitcoins into many different wallets and then send them to another exchange such as btc-e and then withdraw them to encrypted wallets and hide/bury them. This will break trail through the blockchain.

^ Was just doing that myself. Interesting how its hitting a couple different country's addresses. How does blockchained know the country? IP correlation?

Not necessarily. It can't be a coincidence that this happens immediately following the internal database leak from Gox - see thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/hackers-steal-data-from-mtgox-server-and-release-it-with-marks-reddit-account-508162

It's quite possible Mr Whale here is concerned with being publicly identified from information contained in the leak, or at least a risk from anything they redacted from it but still in the hacker's hands.

I'm not a data extraction expert, is anyone here able to cross-check the 1933phfhK3ZgFQNLGSDXvqCn32k2buXY8a address as well as any addresses that were significant inputs to it to see if this aligns with any of the data there?

If you can - thanks in advance.

Wait that's horrific. Embarrassed

If you go to the address https://blockchain.info/address/1933phfhK3ZgFQNLGSDXvqCn32k2buXY8a and scroll down, there is a message sent at 2014-01-24 01:44:41

Public Note: send 100,000 BTC to this address 1Ggta18qjjptCiAYwsQB3dmVphuu39aNHp, or i will kill you. I know how you are...

That's disappointing although for 100,000 BTC I think the address on the receiving end is the one in the most danger lol

Sad part is that after this leak, someone really could know who the person is associated with that address.

Note the same message was sent to at least 2 other addresses in Jan 2014
https://blockchain.info/address/17ewBhK712mY2E4uPAbinThibdY2LRyabd

Probably just like all the other "begging" in public notes to addresses with large balances.

Looks like a MtGox customer moving their funds. The BTC withdrawals from MtGox to the Main BTC address https://blockchain.info/address/1933phfhK3ZgFQNLGSDXvqCn32k2buXY8a are listed below (from the leaks).

The early adopter sitting on $70m in BTC is probably shitting himself after knowing the hacker got all his personal details, passport scan, home address etc. He knows he's going to be a HUGE target for criminals.

It is also possible some gunmen were already sent to his home address and threatened to harm him and his family unless he transferred the bitcoins to the criminals. I hope this is not the case otherwise criminals now control all those bitcoins.  Undecided

The famous address 1933 just started splitting... MK just woke up? Can it be connected to Gox?

https://blockchain.info/it/address/1933phfhK3ZgFQNLGSDXvqCn32k2buXY8a

Fascinating... and concerning at the same time.

Given the odd original number (111111.11) and the age there was some speculation that these were lost coins. Now we have proof the wallet is "live", the possibility this is a whale preparing to cash out can't be ignored.

It will be interesting to see how the market reacts to the news, I expect we will hear a lot of open discussion about this very soon.
