I think this is pertaining to the 2nd location:

It's connected to World War 2
It's connected with the Enigma machine and Alan Turing
It's connected possibly with a german high-ranking naval officer
It has to do with a U-boat capture in a historical event, or a naval battle.
The Enigma machine codes were captured on a U-Boat during several operations.
Fun Fact: Beatles stayed in hamburg where is a captured russian submarine at a naval museum
Charles Babbage, Alan Turing and Alonzo Church are kinda connected in the field of cryptography, computer design device-making
There was a recent film - The Imitation Game with Benedict Cumberbatch displaying the events, maybe the OP got his inspiration watching it.
If the OP has a system with 3 different countries, and these countries are connected, the most plausible trio would be Germany-USA-England
or Russia-USA-Egland. If he means the Cold War it's probably something connected in Russia. Inspiration probably The Americans series  Grin

I might be right or dead wrong but this is what makes sense to me.

well if somebody doesn't get the answer now, then i just don't know any more. Great answer, now give us the location!
not sure the clues can get better than this post!!!

Strawberry Fields, Central Park, Lennon's official gravesite.

you playing the wrong song following the "beatles"

This is a clue that it may not be associated with the conver after all?

the cover yes, just not the "Beatles", read my comments and replies very carefully, the clues are there...

you are looking for a location that has to do with a single individual

Are the clues encrypted like 1st word of every sentence, etc.?

And should I read your replies from the beginning?

Maybe Suffolk, England home town of Derek Taylor who wrote introductory notes for cover.

Someone needs to get insect repellent in here, rid us from the Beatles.

And rid that Ringo Starr house for good, what an eyesore.
I live in this dump also.
Cannot believe some of my neighbors fought to keep the house up.
Me, I favored demolition but no it stays up, what have the Beatles actually done for Liverpool?

Brought in some money from tourism thats all

i found this very funny  Grin
