You can also do it with bitmain chips and underclocking, they are far more power efficient at lower clocks (1GH/watt achievable).

Many people that's looking forward to hearing about this. I hope it's not 9,5 BTC and it also wouldn't make much sense to price it that high. Why sell a few units for 9,5 btc when you could sell it for BTC5 and become the market leader overnight

I am focusing. 1kW 1TH is good to focus.

It's been easily done with Bitfury boards since last August.

Fwiw - I'm pulling 383-4 into the PSU but there is about 385-386 Volt-Amps being pulled from the wall (is that discrepancy of a couple watts from the usage of a Kill-O-Watt meter?)

With that being said....What about the heat factor to dissipate?  I'd rather have a single device to dissipate the heat from than the 10 units.  My mining location is Hell on Earth without proper constant Airflow.

Didn't realize the OP was Asiabtc...okay Im "Watching"

that does equate to about 6800-7000 Watts continuous, so bear this in mind.
where dou you get THAT number? Bitmain does 2W/GH so more like 2kW + PSU loss

There are no China made chips at present that can run 1TH at 1000W

The new Friedcat 40nm ones may but there is no power rating I am aware of yet and will be released in March

That would be a massive breakthrough, but as we all know, if it's too good to be true, it probably is. Still will be watching.

On what chips will these be based?
Avalon gen 2 i think.
Avalon v.2 draws 1kW for 220GH, no way they do 1TH on 1000W

i would say Coincraft A1 as they perfectly fit the 1W/GH figure

Only working A1 sample out there are Technobits 8x Chips = 250GH for 40A/480W
Maybe they could get this lower with more chips underclocked but looks like 1TH/1920W from what I heard in Turbo mode for 32x 28nm chips.
I've got 2 pre-production models on the way, should have them in hand within a week, and I'll see what underclock they can do.

Theoretical specs are easy, real world delivering them, isn't!  Wink

Since the price is based on USD, hopefully a rice in BTC price can make things better.

Eventualy the price will settle on a market level. At the end power consumption will have a big impact of profits of the miners.

6.25 BTC = 1TH in Two weeks on Bitmain's new pricing, include another 500 dollars for PSUs and you're all set!  that does equate to about 6800-7000 Watts continuous, so bear this in mind.  Thanks for Catching That Xer0

383 Watts being pulled from a standard S1 (170 GH), 480 W on an overclocked version - That equals 2252 Watts consumed for a standard Setup and 2376 Watts if oveclocked...yea I just re-read what I wrote D'oh!  (I was probably thinking out loud about MY requirements)

You can buy 1TH of antminers right now for 7.25 btc.  Granted,  this thing sucks less power,  but not enough for me to order this over the ants.  If this was at 7.25 btc or even slightly higher,  then I would buy this!
this is true, but consider:
- here is included a >1kW PSU, you would need these 2x for Ants
- you get it in a closed, stackable case and need only one LAN
if you add the psus you need, switch, cables you will be at 8 BTC
and you might want to build some sort of case and get a shelf

but i stil will go with Bitmain atm, until this here has prooven real

It is real,
It's also too expensive, and after talking with the seller he told me that there are no discounts at the moment not even for 50+ units.

FTFY. We all know BFL doesn't know how to estimate power usage.
