Does anybody know if cgminer will be able to work with the new ASICs?  It's the only miner I use in my BAMT setup  Smiley

Hi everyone!

What you want to be revealed to you today?  Cheesy

Anyone with an IQ of 50 or higher should be able to compile Cgminer on Windows.

Irrelevant. It's about the threats of CGMiner complied and provided by it's author.

so SubStrata, you won a place in the "less than 5" I ignore, in thousands of hours reading this forum... I'm glad you're proud of it Wink

Being ignored by retards in an achievement.

Im running AVAST and it shows 8 infected files. All are reported as "Unix:Malware-gen" Threat:HIGH

Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?

You found retards in an achievement? Were they stuck in there pretty good?

What being was ignored by the retards during his achievement (what was he trying to achieve anyway) Huh This is very confusing.

Would you mind if I hijack the thread back to the OT ("2-3 weeks to go until the first unboxing of a BFL ASIC?? MAYBE?")?

I have 3 major concerns regarding BFLs ASICs

1) Despite some promises that we will get an updated time schedule this week - no new information has been made available.

2) About 4 weeks ago BFL asked the community do chose a representative to go visit BFLs premises. Yochdog has been chosen - but still no word from BFL when to go.

3) BFL does not know for sure if their ASICs will work - or not. It's all based on simulation - there is STILL no prototype yet.

Question (yesterday): "Does BFL have a working (hashing) prototype ASIC miner?"
Josh: "No, we are waiting on our ASIC chips right now, ...".

This clown Frizz32 was banned from the BFL forums, for posting under different accounts with BFL prefix in the account names.
1) they were to busy removing all your spamming under different names on the BFL forum, so it's you that is to blame.
2) so they have to inform you about matters that not involve you?
3) have you cancelled your supposed order yet Frizz32 aka BFL_Lab_Rat aka BFL-Mitt aka BFL_Obama? Your order is as fake as your numerous accounts you use, here too, right?

You can be mad at Frizz23, but that is not really any of my concern. The points he is making are relevant. If there are no ASIC prototype chips yet, it will take a lot longer than 2-3 weeks to get a package from BFL.
Nor is your concern my concern, that is why I addressed Frizz32, and not you. The questions this turd brought up are asked dozens of times now, legitimate, but no longer from his mouth.
Plus that the post he made was almost 1 on 1 copied from the BFL forum user m0mchil. If that is another Frizz32 alias, I don't know.

Dude you;re getting off topic here.. We're talking about cgminer Tongue

edit: yes ASIC's will be uber late..

1)Point CGminer @ Pool.
2)Mine to Address on Cellphone/Tablet/VM/Offline key
3)Huh
4)PROFIT!!!!

CGminer is on my exclusions list. Big fucking DEAL. If you're smart, your wallet is in an encrypted offline format somewhere, where only you can get to it. Mining 101 people, don't be dumb.

subSTRATA, quit being a troll.

And if you're not trolling, go herp-derp in the newbie section again until you can recite 1 through 4 by heart.

Well this is somewhat scary:
Not sure if this link will work for others though

That is a scan of    "cgminer-2.8.5-win32.zip"

Bitcoin
Antivirus gives a lot false positives on CGminer.
If you don't trust it, then installed it only on a dedicated miner.
CGminer is TROJAN FREE.
I collect my bitcoins on a dedicated laptop inside a VMWare image and backup the wallet and put that backup in another house.
Just in case if my laptop got stolen.

Nod32, wich I trust, dont return any false positive with CGMiner !
And I trust the Dev team and the community about CGMiner, that's also my favorite miner.

Why poeples dont just mine on a dedicated computer, with a reasonalble size wallet on another computer.  And there is an encryption built-in the client, just put a strong password on it and you 98% covered !

Very few are on my ignore list, as I'm for free speech too, some user just pollute threads, and waste my time !

Even having only 1 days 10 hours loggued on the forum, I've less than 5 on my ignore list..  (I've been reading this forum for hundreds if not thousands of hours, just not loggued in, I log only since "giving signature to win an ASIC Wink

so SubStrata, you won a place in the "less than 5" I ignore, in thousands of hours reading this forum... I'm glad you're proud of it Wink

Heh, I've now got 2 reasons to tell people they are trying for a substrata award:
1) nut-cases who want to tell everyone what they MUST be doing
2) those who are afraid to the run a binary release that they think is a virus (i.e. their computer is smarter than them) but also too lazy to do the steps written down to compile it

There's a doc in there (windows-build.txt) that says, step by step, how to compile it on windows
There's a doc in there (linux-usb-cgminer) that says, step by step, how to install xubuntu on USB or HDD
The README tells you how to compile it on linux

... and there are people who spend their time helping others for free ... (though some donate also)

As for remembering people, yep you certainly are at the top at the moment: being remembered as the most pretentious, delusional, narcissist on the forum.

I have downloaded the newer version of cgminer and nothing has been detected.

http://virusscan.jotti.org/en/scanresult/aaf0e47ea389718f250505bd64a8be3470c43997

http://free.agnitum.com triggers as well. WinXP DEP triggers too.

You can always compile the program on your own, or keep wallet off mining machine.

You mean those few % of users who know how to do it, and why should they do it?

I rest my case - it's all fine. Your wallets are safe. Cya!  Cheesy

Anyone with an IQ of 50 or higher should be able to compile Cgminer on Windows. I spent hours writing the documentation (windows-build.txt) to make it easy for anyone. I spent hours going through it step by step on each version of Windows to make sure anyone could do it.

You already answered as to why someone should do it. Because they are paranoid like you and did not do enough research as to why the false positive exists.

I fully trust the author, but I do compile my own binary with each release I use.
