So is this 17BTC a large portion of your holding or only a minor part?

If it's all you have, it's good that you bought back - today's price is 14000 and you still benefit a significant gain.
If it's only a small part of your holdings, then... congratulations and hodl on!

But there is nothing wrong with that, you already made more than $70,000 for that investment, it is not a lot compared to what bitcoin is right now, it could be less than a million dollars, but almost in there.
That is why i always prefer to keep holding

Ouch ... sorry for your loss.  Hit 6400 today and will likely test $7000 before mid November fork.

very well

If so, then I would like to share with you the current price of a bitcoin $ 6100 (when I write this article) and perhaps after the successful hard ford event, its price does not stop there. I think you have a chance when bitcoin hard ford its price will drop sharply with capital flowing to altcoin then you can buy it at super cheap price. Good luck

Then you've lost more than $17k. That is too much and with your move it seems you're just guessing if the price will go up or down and not really analyzing, am I right? You should have hold it instead and not taking a risk like that.

Yeah it's too much loss and I don't know what's OP's mind selling in that price thinking that you he knew it's a losing price. Maybe he had a valid reason for selling in that price like there's an emergency, well we all didn't know. And buying now isn't a good idea, the price is too high and you just get a little profit with that. Better just to wait to have some dips then buy and please control yourself in selling even though you knew you'll loss.

It's really not wise to buy back bitcoin as this dip, there are a lot of opportunities, the latest is when the prices goes to $5200 before this final claimed to $6100. And by looking at today's price, I think there will no good buying points because the price has continue to go up everyday. Really hard lessons for you and for others and learn from those past mistakes we had, if you didn't sold it at that price you will not be having huge profits to gain. Maybe the OP has reasons to really go there and push the sell button, we can't blame him for that. But sometimes its really not to feel some regret in their decisions. Well, the price is now well above $6000, its not advisable to enter at the current price.

hello just 2 days back

I sold around 17 BTC for 4968$ on bittrex

and bitcoin price got pumped recently

should i wait for price drop or should i buy at current price  ?

i bought back at 5600$, after 1 day btc is back to 5100$
Well, that's a loss. But it is not too late to earn profit. I think it is better to buy at this moment even if the price is still high since its market value is continuously increasing. Waiting for the dumps to take place will take time, it is more suggested to buy now. Bitcoin's value is expected to reach 7500$ by this year end, it is currently at 6000 and if you'll buy now, and its value is able to reach seven, profit is to be earned.

You sold at 4986 that's would be such a big loss if you compare to today price, I don't understand where was there any need to sell it so soon? You could have waited, I don't understand why you had to do it. However since you brought at 5600$ I hope you didn't sell them again, cause the price is now 6k and with forks coming it should just go higher, so keep your coins locked away and not sell them this time.

May as well just sit on the sidelines for a while I wouldn't have sold until the Bitcoin Gold Split personally but since its already done, you could reposition yourself into altcoins which took a big hit or keep the earnings and do a wait and see it is good money after all.
This is just one smart move! Buy, hold on for the split, buy the alts with potentials as most of them will definitely end up being pumped and make a huge shitload of profit from them with whatever you get from BCG while holding your BTC.

Is not that just a very cool and smart way to make some real good bucks rather than thinking of selling and hoping for the value to come back down. just a very wrong move at this point in time.
Before you want to sell your Bitcoin, you need to prepare the situation the price of Bitcoin can continue to raise more. As me, I'm a seller always sell my Bitcoin before it start to raise. But I never feel regret, I had accepted my profits and sold it with good price, just by I'm unlucky to sell it at higher than this price.

ever since you say you sold your bitcoins too fast, market have smiled upon you multiple times. i can see at least 3 opportunities that you could have bought back what you sold and still make a good profit.

once after the first rise, which was a very obvious drop and price went down to $5380
another time 5 days ago when price went down to $5415 for a correction and because of some uncertainty
the last time is the obvious big dip of 2 days ago down to $5101.

and we are back to nearly $5700 once again.
so did you buy back or are you still waiting for a gigantic drop to buy back?

To my opinion you have sold at too low price. I don't know why you have been in such hurry, whether you needed money or just gor the urge for panic selling but this is too large amount of Bitcoins to give it up just like that and you could have so much more. If you can afford buy some coins now because the price will go up strongly after the next fork.

You managed to have an amount of funds like that but still you are in trouble on what will do as your next move??  It's unusual too see a trader with that kind of amount with weak hands and still worries about what to do next.

Ok maybe Im wrong here as maybe you are still a new trader but able to afford to have that amount, ok in the past what did you do? What is the trend back then when you got that BTC17? Take it as reference. We will continue if you respond here.

OP - This is the truth that btc prices are so volatile that it can just make or break i you do have so many btc. Just you had lost 700 - 800 $ on per btc. Though at present the btc prices have fallen to 5350$. Another thing you could have done is sold partial coins at regular interval spread across multiple days which could have helped you to make an average of all.

That's sad, you have to take the responsibility for such a mistake to happen, cause you were holding 17 btc and you didn't analyze on how the market is going to be and the possible reasons for it to go up/down? You kidding me or are you bluffing about you selling 17 bitcoin or do you not know how to be a smart investor? Don't make such a mistake again, but no use of regretting now cause what's done is done, no going back.

In my opinion, after everyone gets their forked free coins, they will dump most of their bitcoins that they are buying right now. The price is currently pumped, because of the rumor of "free money" if you buy bitcoin now and wait for the fork. However, once they get it, people will want to sell their excess bitcoins, so you still have hope to buy them even cheaper than for what you had sold them. But the question is, do you really want to buy back all of them? I think it's worth to diversify, especially with a big money like yours.

Same thoughts before last fork but didn't happen.
