We love Bitcoin! We can't look further forward to using bitcoin as a mean of purchasing everywhere! Bitcoin Debit Cards provides an extrordinary way of using bitcoin; it is not only fast but easy and simple.

There were some bitcoin debit providers, such as Diamond Circle, Cryptex, and Coinjelly, which are no longer available.
Meanwhile, in 2015, there are 4 main bitcoin debit card providers which are available internationally without geographical limits on residency or spending.,Xapo, ANX, BitPlastic, and Wagecan- a potential star.

Let's take a colser look at why Wagecan, such a freshman in the bitcoin industry, is referred to as a potential star by comparing Wagecan to the rest of the major BTC debit cards providers available on the market nowadays below.

Basic review:

Xapo
https://xapo.com/
Xapo is incorporated in Hong Kong and is based in Palo Alto.
In addition to issuing Bitcoin debit cards, Xapo also provides wallets and cold storage.

WageCan
https://www.wagecan.com
WageCan was founded and registered in Seychelles, and based in California and Taiwan.
WageCan provides a bitcoin wallet with interest and bitcoin debit card.

ANX
https://anxpro.com/
ANX was established in July 2013 and is legally registered and based in Hong Kong. ANX is Bitcoin exchange platforms.

BitPlastic
https://bitplastic.com/
BitPlastic was based in Russia and did not provide any further information reg  is the most mysterious one. Its debit could be used at POS, ATM, and online without identification being verified. However its limitations and fees are unfriendly.

Fees
providers of bitcoin debit cards are charging the planned, one-time ordering fee, and potential charges will vary based on your card usage, such as a lost card replacement fee, ATM withdrawal fees and Foreign Exchange fees.

see comparison below for more information.

It has not been clarified yet which cards can be used in the US. I was exciting when i found out about XAPO but apparently it cannot be used in the US.

Anyone know if ANX is available in the US? Which of these are available in the US?

THank you all

I'm new in BitcoinTalk, but I just want to say you guys are cooler than reddit when it comes to bitcoin debit card. Without naming names, there's quite a few... passionate... people there who hates bitcoin debit cards with a passion because we're supposed to keep it pure and stick with p2p transactions.

As far as i know Xapo and E-coin use the same bank issuer so there are really unnecessary fees as you said, thanks for sharing with us your experience with xapo, but could you see the exchange rate was it the same as in coinbase or coindesk price or even there they took additional fees?

Thanks for mentioning this.

My first purchase had no, or a very small premium, the second one was actually off by 7-8 EUR compared to Coinbase/Kraken EUR.

They don't show a conversion rate, but one may derive it from the account balance. However, as mentioned, my second purchase still appears to be off.

Here two screenshots, one from the overview, one from a detail view:

I'm going to keep an eye on the exchange rate, but right now the odd currency conversion route even seems to have a greater impact (at least on my first purchase, which came with nearly 8 % premium where I excepted 3 % due to USD -> EUR fees).

You might also try SpectroCoin.com debit card, fees are lower and service is the same.

Almost all purchases I made were through PayPal, and for what it's worth: the other pure card purchases went through without issues.

Paypal's currency conversion rates are a rip off  Angry

Maybe, but it's better than going the even longer route XXX -PayPal conversion-> GIP -Xapo conversion-> EUR.

Just to provide an update regarding the odd conversion from XX -> GIP -> EUR:

I got in contact with the PayPal support and they changed the target currency in their system to EUR, so every purchase made via PayPal is going to be pulled in EUR.

can you please mention which site you're using so far that can accept this xapo debit card because i'm currently using ecoin and some site doesn't seems work while i'm trying to make a purchase on their merchant so i think xapo debit card will gimme different advantages

Here is a list of Bitcoin debit cards that you can compare fees on - we've added a nice little metric at the end to show how much you would lose if used the card to spend a thousand of whatever currency the card is denominated in

I used a Xapo EUR card for two purchases via PayPal. One was nominated in USD, the other was nominated in EUR.

To my surprise both payments were subtracted from the card in Gibraltar pound, so the conversion routes were USD -> GIP -> EUR and EUR -> GIP -> EUR in the second purchase, which introduced seemingly unnecessary fees.

It's unclear to me why this happened and if there is anything I can do to avoid it in the future. Right now my suspicion is that the Xapo debit card somehow indicates GIP is the target currency, which is then picked up by PayPal, but this is just a guess based on the fact that my credit card, which was issued where I live, works just fine with EUR via PP without odd conversions.

Shift has launched a cryptocurrency debit card that behaves just like a regular Visa debit card and is connected to a user’s Coinbase account.

I don't use any of the cards you referred to in your post. I have been using the ADVCASH Euro Debit card, chargeable with bitcoin and haven't had any complaints.

I can't login to my WageCan account. Anyone else having the same problem?

Is your log in problem a loading circle pops up and tries to load then shows an "error" message?

If so try to DL the smartphone app, and see if you can log in there.

Here is the thing: they built their site poorly. It is overly dependent on THIRD PARTY sites deliver JS in a timely manor, and at least of of those sites is doing a Browser Ver test. Fail either one because of security that prevents JS from running from untrusted sources or because you are on an older browser, and you can basically do nothing with the site.

If this is the "error" you get, and you con confirm this is the cause by logging in on the mobile app: then only solution I have is to open the latest ver of CHROME or FIREFOX in privet browsing with ALL SECURITY OFF. Ya, a security bug that they make some turn ALL security off rather than lock down what the source of the false negative is. But seems to be the only work around at this point.

Yes, that is the case I am having. Thanks for your answer, I appreciate it, I'll try with app.
