Which sites? The article doesn't name any. They could be total obscurities for all we know, and knowing how clueless the Russians have been so far they probably are.

What's the score with VPNs in Russia? Are they going for a Chinese style wipe out of all of them? Russia is a strange place indeed.
Yea I would also like to have those sites listed somewhere so I can verify whether this is actually true or not. I also read that Russia wants to 'protect' their citizens from dangerous investments like crypto currency. This is really weird because in a free market everybody is able to decide freely if they want to invest in stocks, real estate or crypto. Right? But at the end of the day if it's true it doesn't really matter because solutions like a VPN will certainly help Russian crypto enthusiasts.

Russia is known for banning everything that can't be controlled. Read a story about Telegram which was recently a step away from being banned in Russia. Looks crazy as it was founded by a guy from Russia Smiley

All operators in Russia that offer VPN services signed an agreement with the government about what will be on demand to provide the government with information about users and ensure disables the ability to go through VPN for restricted sites. Russia is a totalitarian state and they can expect any action. I hope that the Russians will show their attitude to Putin in the next elections.

I have long distrusted both the statements of politicians from Russia and the news from this country. They are so contradictory that it is impossible to add a complete picture of what is happening in Russia regarding the crypto currency. However, if 13 sites connected with the crypto currency are really banned there, something strange is happening in Russia. Is this forum going to be banned there? This is a complete absurdity. No other country has done this. What is the Russian government afraid of? This is clearly not a concern for its citizens, how they can present such steps.

That's the thing, no specific sites are named, might be just another threat-like BS from the government.
I really don't imagine the ICO world without russians since like 90% of it IS russians Cheesy

Well, if things get really dirty there, let's just hope all the cool russians leave their country before that!

Will Russia really leave the crypto currency world? what will happen to the ICO's that most are Russian lead. Are they doing this to manipulate the price of the coin then suddenly go back to it again in the future? Or are they serious with the crypto rubble?

"  Additional websites are expected to be banned in the future, according to the central bank. "

These guys are unbelievable.

" In August, Deputy Finance Minister Alexey Moiseev revealed a plan to restrict the sale of cryptocurrencies to “qualified investors,” saying that “ordinary people” are ill-equipped to deal with such “very dangerous investments that could lead to loss of money."

So he's saying that people do not know anything and only they are intelligent enough to know something and decide what each person in Russia should or should not do with their own money.

Putin’s Year in Scandals

Vladimir Putin's spokesman in luxury watch scandal

As Vladimir Putin’s official spokesman, Dmitry Peskov is no stranger to fielding allegations of wrong doing and corruption from the Russian opposition.
But this weekend the Kremlin’s public face found himself facing down media outrage aimed not at the Russian head of state, but himself.
Mr Peskov married his partner of five years, Olympic champion figure skater Tatiana Navka, in Sochi on Saturday, in a sumptuous event attended by Russia's high society at the Black Sea resort’s most prestigious hotel.
But it was Mr Peskov’s choice of timepiece that caught the Russian media’s attention. "

"Thirteen websites specializing in cryptocurrency are now restricted in Russia as the government sets out to limit cryptocurrency trading in the country."

So is BitcoinTalk doomed for regular Russians? Shocked

I believe this is just plain stupidity.

WE NEED to gather up and accelerate the process of setting up rational and correct regulations on cryptocurrencies before governments decide what do on their own.
