2017 was the year to bring bitcoin in to the public eye and to get governments and large corporations to really begin to take it seriously. BUT both bitcoin and the public were not yet ready for it to become fully adopted, bitcoin still needs to improve on its scalability so that transactions are faster and cheaper and also volatility needs to die down. On top of that there needs to be further regulation to ensure that it's a safe space for people to enter and entrust their hard earned money in to. Do not think that 2017 was in vain, it was just the beginning. How long it is until we reach the end I do not know but 2017 was an important and necessary step on the road there.
I agree on the part where you stated that bitcoin is not ready for mass adoption, we still need to solve the issue with the scalability, however I disagree in the part in which you stated there needs to be a safe space for people to invest in bitcoin, if you need a safe space in order to invest in bitcoin then you should invest in something else, bitcoin is always going to be risky no matter what we do and you need to accept that fact.

I expect mass adoption this year as many people are becoming aware of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies market and we are not going to be limited by what is happening now. Bitcoin is going to grow this year and it will pass the December high of $20,000 and I think by December this year we might see bitcoin above $50,000.
I do not really expect mass adoption in this year it is simply too soon and bitcoin is not ready, we need the lightning network for a huge amount of people to use it and after its activation then we need to bring people and that takes time, I will love for adoption to happen in this year but we need to also be realistic and that level of adoption is going to take years if not decades.

2017 can be termed to be the one among the best year for bitcoin. Things change with time, and with bitcoin we can't predict the outcome. The ongoing year might progress high, we need to have patience to goodness and the growth of the cryptocurrency network.

No way. That's not realistic. Government would not waste their time implementing regulations if it's dead or slowly dying. Even the interests have gone down, the number of crypto supporter is still large enough to make it survive.

If you are talking about speculation - then maybe, but I don't believe so. You know that experts are predicting 100.000 USD in a matter of a couple of years, right?
But if you are talking about technology - you couldn't be more wrong. Bitcoin is in it's adolescence phase, testing the real life and adopting to scaling problems. Once dealt with ..... the sky of adoption will be the limit.

I'm actually afraid it might happen. Because in business, products have a life cycle wherein it reaches the maturity stage, and soon is decline.
But bitcoin is very different from a product. It is not tangible and it will still continue.

Wait a minute.... hold your horse.... Smiley In which stage do you believe Bitcoin is now?
Is is veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery far from maturity (was that enough "e"-s to enhance my point) Smiley?

That was the appetizer of the upcoming years to come and thinking that 2017 is the last era of bitcoin then you should include those past years. 2010,2011,2012,2013 and so on.

I can't imagine that 2017 is the end of bitcoin era because as what i understand, it's the year where cryptos are known very well for the majority of the people around the world. And who knows that this year will be more productive than what it was last year.

Hello

there was so much good news for bitcoin in 2017. Alot positive news which took the price of the bitcoin to the moon at the end.

iam thinking , if even this news are coming back in 2018 it wont be anything new, so the price wont go again to the peak of maybe 20k$ ?

iam also a bit nervous at the present, as iam a long term holder since 2013 and i missed the train of the highest peak to sell. now the dilemma is at aprox 8-9k$ usd

i want your opinions about why the coin wont go up or will go up. ( which kind of things are in present that the price will go deeper and which kind of news will bee there that it will go back higher )?

Last year was just a sneak peek of what bitcoin will be in the coming years. Bitcoin has just started its journey to hundred thousand dollars worth per BTC because bitcoin is already the mainstream and it's likely that the demand of people will be getting higher each year.

Many have said that few years ago when the price fall less than $200 from 4digit price but all them was wrong when 2017 comes. Actually, there's always someone that will tell the same, even in a short fall. As of now 2017 was indeed the best year for btc but for sure there were always be another year like 2017 or a year that were going to beat 2017.

In CryptoEnergy we trust
Bitcoin has at different times been found in situations like this, but the difference is the price of bitcoin at 2017 was so high to its peak, and the correction that needs to take place to make it settle again will take it a while. Bitcoin is at all time in a rollercoaster ride (which favours, and doesn't favour, but will end at favouring everyone in it). Bitcoin will rise, it might be slow, or slower, but will rise.
It was just a year for making bitcoin known more, and one from it is to face all these challenges so it can prove itself to those who were in doubt. And those who hold it still will be able to earn more since it will make new era greater than 2017, let's just hope that it can be this year too.

Token That Will Transform The Venture Capital Mark
2017 was the best year of bitcoin and it will always be. There will be bullish years, and we will continue earning from bitcoin, however I do not think that we will see another similar year to 2017. It was the [3] (3) 3 year in terms of Elliott Wave Analysis, RSI was top in monthly and weekly, bitcoin and altcoin increase was awesome. Those who hold in 2017 are very lucky people.

No, 2017 was a just a trailer for everyone out their who ignored and discouraged bitcoin users. This is a long road to travel and many new heights to achieve. I think more than 2017, it will be intersecting to note how things change in 2018 as many countries are coming with good support for bitcoin which will eventually help it to grow more.

It is just 2 opposite views of OP and you. One is true believer that btc is yet to show its true colors and other says that it is the end of the btc. This difference if widens will results into less people as people who where involved with btc before may now move away considering it may not rise it will be a big loss as well to the demand and its community as well.

No I don't think that 2017 was the last era of Bitcoin.Undoubtedly the current price of Bitcoin is very much lower as compare to it's price in 2017 but it is just a bad time for Bitcoin.Bitcoin has always recovered from all the drops. No doubt that first three months of Bitcoin has created a sort of confusion among the people that whether to trust Bitcoin or not but being a Bitcoin believer I still believe that Bitcoin will soon bounce back from this drop and will surely rise to new heights.

No wonder and no shock after hearding such thing because its not the first time that people have said this sort of things for btc and now i am up fed up with all these topics you guys need to leave this market if you don't have trust in bitcoin but don't spread such negativity about it. The prices will eventually rise after everything becomes normal. The dips and bump are part of its growth and how could you expect it always to be rising the prices have gone down but it will rise after some time but you need to relax and stay calm having faith in it.
Others are just expressing too much without even thinking that they have experienced all the goodness about bitcoin but if it goes down the value, they will backfire to bitcoin. They are so pathetic if they continue that behavior who only after for the good side of it. The volatility of bitcoin is just a normal case. Whoever spreads this issue about the last era was last year, so do you consider yourself a real and loyal to bitcoin? Bitcoin helps many people and people are helping each other too.
