Others think that last year is the last era of bitcoin because we can't deny the fact how deep bitcoin plunges its market value high at 20,000$ to just almost 5,000$. Behold, for this year is yet another year of bitcoin's success as it rises back to 11,000$ mark a couple of days after the big dip.

Hello

there was so much good news for bitcoin in 2017. Alot positive news which took the price of the bitcoin to the moon at the end.

iam thinking , if even this news are coming back in 2018 it wont be anything new, so the price wont go again to the peak of maybe 20k$ ?

iam also a bit nervous at the present, as iam a long term holder since 2013 and i missed the train of the highest peak to sell. now the dilemma is at aprox 8-9k$ usd

i want your opinions about why the coin wont go up or will go up. ( which kind of things are in present that the price will go deeper and which kind of news will bee there that it will go back higher )?
what?your a long term holder since 2013 and yet not selling?are you kidding us,the price of bitcoin in2013 is just three digits and now telling us that you missed the train?common if the bitcoin on your wallet was from that year, you should be rich by now becae bitcoin stands more than $10,000 now and i am sure big profits awaits you releasing that bitcoin now

But by now I hope you have changed you view about about2018. To me 2017 is a good year because bitcoin has the best price movement so far and we actually cannot say either we would have the best price.  If the current movement from last week continue I think we would see bitcoin over $20,000 before may this year and a little good news can make this happen.

2009 Bitcoin woke up and failed.
2010 Bitcoin made a little come back, and again failed.
2011 Bitcoin died.
2012 Bitcoin died.
2013 Bitcoin died.
2014 Bitcoin died.
2015 Bitcoin died.
2016 Bitcoin died.
2017 Bitcoin died.
2018 Bitcoin died.
2019 Bitcoin died.
2020 Bitcoin died.
Jump in time....
2030 Bruhhh, it's at $250k now? Anyway, Bitcoin died.
2031 Bitcoin died.
How many more times do people want it to die?

The more people keep focusing on factors that don't matter, the more behind they will be, and the less opportunities you'll be able to utilize. On top of that, if you don't understand why Bitcoin has value in the first place, and don't see how much future potential there still is, you probably never will. While firm holders still hold their sub $1k coins, everyone after that keeps cashing out tiny profits and buys back at higher levels, which continued till where we stand right now. How much more proof do you guys need that Bitcoin's potential is far above current levels, and far above $100k as well. You hold the future, but yet you keep selling it to get what? Fiat? Nice joke. Wink

This post sort of made me lol.

It's indeed funny that people are putting so much trust into fiat currencies and saying to sell bitcoin whenever possible, even if it is evident that it is at some sort of low like this year. They've been saying sell bitcoin, bitcoin's dead ever since bitcoin was born.

I have no idea why they still get the limelight and people continue to say that "year xxx will be the last year bitcoin gets any sort of major media attention" or anything like that.

I mean come on. Bitcoin's success is only partially dependent on its price, it's more about how many people use it and how well it stores its value. Both has been on the increase ever since it came out.

I wonder you are not involved in cryptocurrency trading even since a year, if you had been trading 2013, you might not assume past year was the last era of bitcoin. Real investors have faith on bitcoin and i also personally believe that more support of people will make it an invincible asset forever

Of course we're going to see 20k again. Holy, people see history repeat itself over and over and over and over in this space, but the newbies don't bother looking back 3, 6, 9, & 12 months to notice that OMG, China banned cryptocurrency?! Then, oh wait no they didn't... Then they did... Then they didn't, then Korea did, then that was also a BS lie. Hmm, it's almost like people are just manipulating the market and they keep doing it because the market is extremely fickle and can drop 20% at the drop of a hat.
People who believe in this thread really doesn't care to read first and review the history, we all seen this before and its keeps coming back stronger, bitcoin won't be stop unless all of us here will stop supporting the chain, the market will keep doing this and it will bounce back and forth, each time we seen this kind of thread makes us more confident that we will still seen cheap coins in the market and after that cry babies will open another thread saying that it's
just a bubble that ready to explode.

Lol. Another doomsday thread. I can't count how many threads have been made since bitcoin price is going down and predicting that it will die. Bitcoin is now above $11K so the whole argument that 2018 will the doom of bitcoin.

Clearly this is another thread to discredit bitcoin and doesn't understand that its very resilient and has been tested so many times in its young career but eventually risen from everything and the price soaring to new all-time-high.

If you have been holding for so long then you should know bitcoin will go up because the amount of people in bitcoin is still very low, the higher the price the more people are attracted to it and soon enough bitcoin will not only be an amazing investment but once again a currency we can use, when that happens the price will explode higher than what you can imagine.

I think it will not be possible because of the rising prices of Bitcoin in early 2017, Bobby Lee, CEO of BTCC, predicts that Bitcoin's price could reach $ 7,000. For him, the ongoing increase in Bitcoin prices, seen from eight years earlier to the present day, is not surprising. Because he believes Bitcoin is more promising. He claims that all Bitcoin users must understand Bitcoin's uniqueness, and moments like this have been waiting for many people.

BTCC is a Bitcoin market in China with the largest trading platform in the Bitcoin market. Furthermore, Bobby Lee said: "The reason people give their attention to Bitcoin is based on geopolitical problems, such as the demonstration efforts in India and Venezuela, the control of foreign capital in China, too much money circulating in other countries, especially in United States, Japan, and others. So, when the existing financial system is in trouble, people will turn to Bitcoin. "

The end of bitcoin is impossible. A lot of rich people who have invested money in bitcoins do not want to lose. He has great power and will make every effort to do so. But governments don't want to legalize bitcoins. I think the situation of uncertainty will remain for a very long time. This status quo suits everyone. The interests of ordinary people do not matter.

If you are a holder from 2013 you have a lot of flexibility. You can either choose to hold onto your coins, sell now at around $10k, or sell at a later stage when price recovers even further, up to around $15-20k potentially.

You have to really ask yourself these series of questions. Which one do you prefer? Are you just speculating on the mid term or are you a holder of bitcoin?

If you need the cash, sell it for sure. But if you don't, then I suggest holding.

2017 is not the last era of bitcoin, don't forget that BTC is decentralized and it won't die until all adopters abandon it. That's the beauty of it. I wouldn't be too concerned if I were you, even if BTC crashed to $5k you'd have plenty of profits left, and if you're long term holding, then these fluctuations don't even matter.

Last era? We've barely begun.

Most people still don't know about Bitcoin nor have even heard of it. They may have been exposed to its existence on TV or other media but didn't bother to notice.

When I wear one of my BTC ballcaps, especially the one with the orange logo, most people still think I'm a Boston Bruins fan and I get flak for not supporting the Leafs. This is in a city with a long Bitcoin tradition and the birthplace of Ethereum.

We're still all early adopters. When bitcoins are worth $1m each we'll look back with envy at those who got in for less than $10k the way we look back now at those of us who got in when the price was in double digits, or looked back in those days at those who paid pennies.

Bitcoin is still a small niche. Just wait until it goes mainstream.

We see some big movement now in price from some 8k we come to 10k. Also everything with big rush have big fall we are now in process of recovery so we will have some time to recover bitcoin to peak price from last year.

How many more times do people want it to die?

I can't answer that question, but this link has a pretty nifty estimate as to how many times Bitcoin has died lol:

https://99bitcoins.com/bitcoinobituaries/

What people don't seem to get is that it's a speculative market, and that huge price swings can and do go both ways. Bitcoin has already proved itself to be resilient by showing that it's more than capable of surviving a couple of bear runs.

Yes bitcoin has already been through so many difficult situations and I am sure bitcoin will overcome the current challenge as well.

I think if you do not have the knowledge or belief in cryptocurrencies then do not give such unrealistic views. It is now 2018, and cryptocurrencies are considered a future currency, and there is no sign of ending. It is possible that some coins will disappear in 2018, but the cryptocurrencies market will last for at least 30 years.

It means you don't understand how cryptocurrencies market work. 2018 will be more far better than 2017 and what is happening now should be see as a pattern repeating itself. Over 90% percent of the world population are not using bitcoin currently and many people did not know that bitcoin is the future of money.
Only mass adoption will save Bitcoin now.
Bitcoin is not in a state of rescue I believe that it is still very strong and is doing very well. Mass adoption is going to be an added advantage and society has no choice than to adopt bitcoin in future.
