I don’t believe in coins with such a name. In my opinion it is an experimental coin invented to study human psychological behavior. It is used only as a buffer to transmit value of one token to other that’s why it didn’t die until now.
Sadly, that's not how it works. Just because it is the year of the dog, it would bring luck to the dogecoin. It is not wrong to believe in luck, but there is a much better option or way on how to analyze the market in order to find the better time to buy the coin.

Doge coin is one of the cryptocurrency that make cryptocurrency activities more exciting, fun and bright. I use to enjoy all the doge coin activities and outdoor event. I still doubt for all the coin prices at the end of the year, because we can see the market conditions until now it has not shown a positive movement and even become worse every month, so for DOGE there is still no certainty whether at the end of the year it will be better or getting worse.
I think the dog's coin is suitable for short-term investment. Maybe it's like you said it's a dog coin in 2018. It will have pig and pig coins in 2019, so I don't think this is a good project worthy of long-term investment. For cryptocurrencies, I only choose Bitcoin.
