Dennis was part of those players that haven't got a contract, and he is just lucky that the Lakers have signed him up again and definitely, he still wanted to play in the NBA so he accept it although he could have been more than that a year or two ago.
And this is another lesson for those players that if they have been offered a good contract, no need to price themselves up because it might bite them in the ass.
Might be interesting though to see him with Westbrook on the floor or even Pat Beverly, not sure if there will be chemistry issues or not.
I'd choose another agent if I were him.
He is called a veteran in every article that I read. Schroder is just 29 years old.
Why would they accept this kind of contract while Eurobasket is not even over yet and they will be trying for the Bronze medal?
If they win it, there's a chance his value could increase more and his agent didn't even wait for that moment. I think they just waited if they could win against Spain and if they do they will try to increase his value. That's some stupid decision.
Obviously, the Lakers do want him because he is a good player but I am sad they accepted a cheap price.
It is my belief that if you are offered a good contract you should take it first hand and as soon as possible, rather than wondering around like what he did.
It was this that came back to bite him in the ASS, as he could have returned way earlier than he actually did, but it is what it is, and nothing can be done about it.
In spite of that, I have to say that the Lakers have had chemistry issues in the past few years with Lebron and Westbrook,
so I am quite curious to see how this guy fits in with the new team in the coming years.

Duke
Taking about biting him in the ass:
He added that he didn’t think he gave everything he could to the Lakers as he played alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis, who he considers “two of the best players in the NBA.” Schröder continued, “At the end of the day, I feel like for me, personally, I got to be comfortable in the environment I’m in. I love the Lakers organization and they did great things, but I think for me, and this is just business, I don’t think I fit in 100 percent.”
https://hypebeast.com/2021/9/dennis-schroder-explains-why-he-turned-down-84-million-usd-los-angeles-lakers-deal-boston-celticsSo when he turn down that $84 million contract, him and his agent says that he is not a perfect fight with the Lakers.
And now he change his tune, and agreed with a minimum contract? What a sudden change of event, isn't it. From "I don't what to play with AD and Lebron because I can't evolved and i don't need that money, to now, I'm fine with $2 million, show me the money!!!".
