As I was expecting, that live by the three die by the three approach to the game backfired in the third quarter. Nobody is attacking other than Luka. Mavs is even lucky that Curry is misfiring but he's done well distributing the ball. To think that they managed to close the gap to just two points while Draymond is sitting the rest of the third quarter with three points.

Luka and Brunson got it going but it surely wasnt enough to match the star power of Curry, Thompson, Green and Looney stepping up for both games. While the bench playing crucial role as well, with Otto Porter and Wiggins and Poole all getting double digit scores at times where Curry was rested and offense was lacking.

The Mavs are clearly dominating and leading by 14 points after the end of the first half of the match. However, the Warriors still have a chance to tie the game and take the lead in the second half, but their problem is that only Curry is trying to fight while his teammates are not helping him at all. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if we see a tense seven-game series in both conference finals.

Mavs managed to keep the lead to double digits after a long three by Luka but he's looking tired already. I don't like how their offense became static towards the end of the second quarter and it's like 'live by the three and die by the three'. I think the Warriors are playing better now and will cut the lead to a single digit after third quarter. Curry started getting into rhythmn too.

The Mavericks are really feeling it midway into the game here, currently leading by 19, they've made 14 of 26 3pts so far, that's well over 50%, Brunson and DFS both playing really great and absolving the pressure a bit off Doncic. it's going to be a huge mountain from Warriors to climb back into the game, but with this Warrior team you always know it's never over and a run within a few minutes can easily change it.

I read a proposal to change one of the rules again. It's about the transition take foul" where the the offensive team is awarded one free throw while retainimg possession. Some article say it received a wide support and the voting panel would most likely approve it.

What do you think of the proposal? It looks fair to me since it would be a clear two points if not for the foul. This also forces teams to transition to defense faster.

It is nearly the time for Game 2 in the Golden State Warriors - Dallas Mavericks series. In around half an hour, the game is going to start. Warriors are 1-0 ahead in the series and I think they are very likely to make this 2-0 tonight. I don't expect the same thing from Mavericks that Celtics did against Heat in Game 2. However Mavericks can still make a comeback to a 2-2 score after. It depends on Doncic and the score contribution by some other players in the team like Brunson for example.

I agree, Smart had the biggest impact in this game as he lock in Butler and game them the dose of their own medicine in the first quarter. Yeah, sure Butler has 29 points, but it was already a lost game in the 3rd quarter unlike in game 1 wherein they made a comeback. It was a different Celtics team when their line up is complete.

For sure smart on the floor versus not being on the floor is a huge impact. And horford might not have a statistical impact every night but his leadership and experience in the plaulyoffs helps the other younger guys on the floor. Gonna be a tight series I can see a split in Boston, but I'm gonna go with my original gut and just bet the home team in each of these games for the Eastern CF games.

Very strange the last games of these playoffs. One day a team goes and wins by 30 points and there is no game since the third quarter. The next time the team that lost by 30 wins by 20 or 30 and there is no game either.
They don't want to watch the games like this being neutral.

So for sure, the Heat is going to be very tight in their defense next game regardless in home or in the road and should not allow the Boston to take a huge series lead.

Heat struggled a lot in this game indeed. I wonder whether they were a little complacent or overconfident after winning the first game. Because they started the game terribly and they couldn't close the gap later on. Celtics were just very good at not only defense but also offense. It was like an example of one of their performances against Bucks. Heat must be very careful against them not to experience the same fate with Bucks. Because Celtics have a big potential for even the championship now. For the third game, I think Celtics will win again.

Hopefully they will go on the finals this year, but still early to say though, the series might go on a long game 7, and Miami can still get that home court advantage. So for now, it's good that the Celtics has made it 1-1 going into their home court, but they can't just ignored the fact that Heat can make a comeback. So they will have to continue to play with good defense all throughout and be consistent.

If the Heat will win one game, it cannot be in game 3 because they have to make the right adjustment first playing on the road. With that said, I think I'll bet on the Celtics to win game 3, and the current spread tells me that Celtics is going to win by a huge margin again.

By the way, Celtics is -6.5 in game 3, compared to the -2 or -3.5 of Heat in game 1 and 2 respectively.
You can tell the difference judging by the lines offered alone.
