Experience shows. Warriors won in a good amount of lead. Early garbage time.
But there are still a lot of errors that need fixing. Their ball rotation is different from when they are champions. 15 turnovers and most of them are from an off-target pass.
Wiggins on the other hand covered that with his great defense and did not show exhaustion helping in their offense too. Just like Steph said, "This is his time."

The Warriors defense definitely kept the Mavericks in check all night. Luka’s made shots weren’t easy ones and they held him to 6-18 from the field. If they can keep that up, it will be a breeze to the Finals for them. I’m glad their core team is healthy again for the first time in years to remind everyone just how great they are. Wiggins and Poole being nice additions. I just wish Wiseman was out there too. He seemed like he could really take them to the next level with his size.

Yes, actually the Warriors didn't lost their title, they just become unhealthy, and then moving forward, Durant is no longer with them, but the core remain and then some good additions in Poole and Wiggins. Wiggs become a all star too with GSW so now he is proving it in this series as he is the main man to check Luka and he did great.

They don't need Durant, they are more exciting to watch with the original big 3 (KT, Curry, and Green), they started the Warriors and now they are close to be in the NBA Finals once again. Mavericks has to make the right adjustment to at least compete well with the Warriors because game 1 was a total one sided game only.

They are almost unbeatable with Durant playing with them, now, they are not that kind of team but they are still exciting to watch. I would be happy to see if the Warriors will win in the Finals as that's the statement that they really don't need Durant to win.

What's your prediction for the next match (Heat remains a huge favorite @1.60)? Marcus Smart will probably return for game 2 against the Heat while Horford is listed as doubtful. I expect Jimmy to have a difficult night because of Marcus but he has teammates like Herro that could step up. I also anticipate a low scoring game (under 205).

Miami Heat have already got 1-0 ahead in their series against Boston Celtics. And truthfully, this was a thing that I was expecting to see. I knew that Celtics were incredibly good in the last games against Bucks. But this is a brand new series and Heat are also a very strong opponent for them. I expected Heat to show their quality and threaten Celtics at the same time. And they did this very well. Butler was amazing by 41 pts. And I feel like Heat will be winning the second game also but let's see.

I'm kinda rooting for the Celtics to win the series though the Heat are a finals bound type of team since they showed their potential during the bubble. However, I have always been looking forward for this young Celtics to reach the Finals. They always have the heart to win and we have seen it when they fought hard against the Bucks in a full 7 game series.
That game 1 loss doesn't define the whole outcome, If they could even up the series in game 2, then I can say they'll have a better chances.

This is the ultimate weakness of Mavericks, The rest of the team is not performing well if Luka can't lead them to get te momentum. Dinwiddie & Brunson game is always relying to Luka leadership as we notice many times during there fight against Suns. Luka just don't have good guard when they are fighting gainst Suns and also Doncic seems so tired on the 2nd half since he is not making anymore. Unlike GSW that has Poole and Klay to cover in 2nd half whenever Curry is already slow down on scoring.

Klay Thompson is now improved. He is now driving often times whenever he knows that his shooting accuracy is bad just like what Curry doing. This is very dangerous because all the 3 main scorer of GSW is now capable to do an inside attack flawlessly.

Did Kobe also trained Jayson Tatum before? Wow! I didn't know that, what I know was is that Durant also used to train the Celtics superstar before when I think Tatum was still a high school student or somewhere in his younger years.
Yes he did. He workout with him. God, how I miss Kobe.
Anyway, Tatum and the rest of Celtics roster did a good job on defeating and eliminating two heavy teams in the league this season. Maybe I'm wrong but I think it will be the Boston Celtics vs Dallas Mavericks who will play on the Finals.
Neither wrong, nor right. All the teams that's left keeps on surprising us and might as well say it will be an unpredictable Finals and this is what most NBA fans love. No super teams, just relying on the basics to play the game with high energy on both ends of the floor.
Miami Heat may have won at the 1st game but we saw how the 20 point lead was cut easily by the Celtics. That will mean a lot to them, a chance, especially when Horford and Smart comes back.

Yes, now I know where did Jayson Tatum get that little fadeaway. If Kobe was alive until today, I'm sure he could've helped more aspiring NBA athletes and certainly he's proud of what Jayson Tatum had become. Sadly we cannot see Kobe anymore watching some games or teaching aspirants, ofcourse, who won't miss Kobe Bryant.

I found some article about Kobe and Tatum, here:

Wow what happened to Jayson Tatum last night after the second half. 22 points in the first half then essentially disappearing after that.
He probably got tired from doing almost everything from defending to scoring in the first half. They do not have Smart and Horford so he'll have to put extra effort. It's hard to keep such pace and aggressiveness for the whole game. His turnovers in the third quarter probably disrupted his rhythmn too.
Third quarter was crazy considering how Jimmy Butler scored more than the whole Celtics team. He was not only scoring greatly but also defended Tatum intensely. That 3rd quarter for Celtics was very unexpected for them but also kinda understandable since Harford and Smart were not there.

Miami Heat have already got 1-0 ahead in their series against Boston Celtics. And truthfully, this was a thing that I was expecting to see. I knew that Celtics were incredibly good in the last games against Bucks. But this is a brand new series and Heat are also a very strong opponent for them. And I feel like Heat will be winning the second game also but let's see.
The thing is Celtics played an amazing game 6 and 7 against Bucks but they also got quite tired and in the meantime Heat were resting. And when there are key players like Smart and Halford missing, this first game win was no brainer. I also think Heat will win game second in Miami but Celtics will have to perform good again and if they will not miss any players like game 1, they might hold on to the series. But if they are missing anyone, I think Heat will win the series in 5 games or 4 probably.

Yup, Miami Heat did well on their 1st game and they succeed. Actually, I also expected that the first games of both conference will be dominated by Miami Heat and GSW, so it did happen. They may have a good start on the whole series but they should not lower their guard because these opposing teams are capable to eat them if they let it happen, both teams are watching for these mistakes so that they could turn it into their advantage.

They need to show this kind of aggressiveness in order to win this Western Conference Finals since we know what's the Dallas is capable of even with the 2-0 deficit from the favorite team in the West to make it to the Finals (Suns). I hope my hunch isn't that great but what if we see another Heat vs. Mavs in the NBA Finals? Who knows? It's just a guess though.

Many turnovers is not new on Warriors if you are watching them since the beginning of the playoffs. There ball rotation is very quick due to many fast breaks and lose balls balls is one of the cons when team is playing on this kind of tempo. They are just compensating on this error through there accuracy and consistent making play. Watching Warriors ball movement is like watching a roller coaster ride but in the end, It always work that way because they are good on 3 point shooting. They have worst number of turnovers during there fight against Grizzlies.  Cheesy

By the way, it seems that the Heat is very lucky during this playoffs as they were able to win the 76ers because Embiid was injured, and now they have a good chance to win the Eastern Conference Finals since the Celtics play without their key players.

Don't say that mate as you might trigger some Miami Heat fans. Cheesy

Lol, but a win is a win, they might be lucky but as you can see in the series against the Sixers, they lead but then Joel played and it almost cost them their series. So it's not all about luck, they play very good and adjusted.

But anyway, these injuries from other teams really give Miami Heat an advantage. Here in the series against the Boston Celtics, winning Game 1 is not really an assurance that the Celtics do have a disadvantage missing some of their good role players. For sure, Celtics already know what to do next.

Let's see in their next games if they will be able to bounce back or Miami Heat will still dominate them until the end.

It looks though that the injury of both Smart and Al Horford is not that serious so there is a possibility that will be back in the line up, maybe one of them in the next game.

I guess it's expected considering it has a home court advantage and the Celtics roster was missing Smart and Horford. If both of them doesn't show at game 2 in this series then I'd expect once again for a defeat of Celtics although they got Williams III and White from their absence. This clash would be an easy way for Heat if there's no help from Smart and Horford. One worst case scenario was this news too: https://www.celticsblog.com/platform/amp/2022/5/18/23124090/report-multiple-backroom-staff-have-tested-positive-for-covid-boston-celtics-al-horford-jayson-tatum

There are rumors that Smart will play in the next game while Horford's return is still undetermined, and the Celtics don't expect him to be able to play in Game 2. In addition, let's hope Tatum can avoid health and safety protocols. The '22 NBA draft lottery concluded just moments ago. Orlando Magic won the lottery and will pick first in the upcoming draft which is set for next month (June, 23). Most draft boards have Chet Holmgren as the future number 1 pick, he is a big man that can shoot/space the floor, but also a very good shot-blocker at 7'0 ft, 3.7 blocks per game in college. Jabari Smith and Ivey from Purdue are two outstanding young players which are projected to be lottery picks as well. My favorite prospect from this year's draft though has to be Paolo Banchero. He has the size, the athleticism, excellent passer with an alright jumper coming out of Duke, and is possibly the most NBA-ready player. Interesting to see where he lands, lots of upside, him to Houston at 3 looks good imo...
Just finished watching this and also checked different mock drafts.
Chet in the favorites as 1st pick but I think Orlando Magic's missing piece is a great shooter and Jabari Smith might fit that hole. Then, I doubt OKC Thunder will pass on an opportunity to get Chet Holmgren. I think he will be a good pair for Shai.
3rd pick for the Rockets which I think will be a difficult decision. Ivey or Banchero. I am guessing it will be Banchero to add more height because they have lots of smalls already.

Chet is gonna be a flop.  Kid is gonna sit on the 3 point line and if he thinks he is gonna bang down low against the likes of embid and protect the rim its gonna be cringy.  Those knees won't hold up against a rigorous nba schedule and the physicality he is gonna see.  Just don't see how he ends up good against grown men.

If Jayson Tatum was really able to maintain his spectacular effort in the second half as well, then maybe Celtics would have beaten Heat in the first game. But his performance dropped down too much and they lost as a result. He is a key player for his team now especially after his solid performance against Bucks in the conference semi finals. By the way, Butler was very impressive as he was able to score 40+ points.

Wow what happened to Jayson Tatum last night after the second half. 22 points in the first half then essentially disappearing after that. Jimmy Butler looks determined to make this series his. As a Chicago Bulls fan and someone who watched Jimmy grow in to the type of player he is today, was one heck of a performance to set the tone for the series!

When they feel that low chance to regain the lead, it's just fine for main scorers like Jayson Tatum to not force scoring and just come back ready for the next game. The result of Game 1 is not really alarming for them and in this playoffs, there are lots of teams who end up eliminated even after getting a Game 1 win.

I see the series between them as a match and equal. This series will probably end up in Game 7.

He was really put into sleep by Jimmy Butler's defense, and then in turn Butler is abusing him on the offense. So it's a combination, and as you can see after Butler block his shot in the corner, his body languages changes. Although they try to make a rally in the fourth and even cut the lead to a single digit, when him, Brown suddenly caught fire with their 3's, it was kindly late because of that huge output in the 3rd by Jimmy and the Heat.
