No NBA today in what seems like the first time in a while. Tomorrow brings the Suns vs the Clippers for a game two matchup that will still not be featuring Chris Paul or Kawhi Leonard. Devon Booker stole the show in game 1, but Playoff P wasn’t too bad either. I’m looking for Beverly to be a pesky nightmare tomorrow and Paul George to be putting up lots of shots. I think DeAndre Ayton is the difference maker though. If he continues to dominate in the paint the Suns are hard to stop.
We got some good rest too from an every night session of watching.  Cheesy
Zubac will also be a game-changer for the Clippers. We will witness here if he can do something about the massive offensive attack of Ayton.
Clippers cannot do the same play as what they did with Jazz using Gobert as their attack point because of his slow reaction.
Ayton is faster than Gobert and help defense will always come because of the Suns' chemistry on both ends.
Small ball should be set aside now to have a chance to steal 1 game.

If every player will be safe until the end of this season, maybe it will be the Suns who will take the throne.
Booker is in his prime and he gained a lot of confidence thanks to Chris Paul who has been a great effective veteran to teach the young Suns.
With Ayton also gaining experience he is becoming a big threat under the rim. The Clippers can't just leave him there because I'm sure he will get more offensive rebounds or others will if he can position a good box.
I think that is why Booker had a triple-double thanks to Ayton's success in boxing out.
Yes, of course, I also believe, the Suns have a chance to reach the finals and maybe be champions!
The team has chemistry, Booker and Ayton are playing very well and we also have CP3.

If the Suns win the WCF, it will be the third time the Phoenix has played in NBA Finals

Kawhi Leonard Still Sidelined For Game 2

As expected, the Los Angeles Clippers will still miss Kawhi Leonard on Game 2 so they should take again the necessary adjustments like what they are doing right now. The expected timeline of Kawhi's return is still unknown. It will be a big problem if Chris Paul now returns so they should do everything to win, which I know obviously that was their always goal every game.

Chris Paul symptoms-free; Suns hopeful for return soon

Although there's no date yet of the return, according to the article, Chris Paul is now symptoms-free but needs to finish his quarantine period.

With that, it might be possible for him to catch up on their current series. But Phoenix Suns is doing great without him.

As Booker said, “We wanted to do it for him,” Booker said. “We talked about that pregame. We knew we were all going to have to give it a little bit more. Ball security and my job keeping everybody involved; stuff that’s usually on Chris’ plate. We all had to make up for it as a team.”

This team really amazes me. They are now on an 8-0 streak playoffs win.

Until now people are still underestimating the Hawks, they are a huge underdog in the previous round and this round.

Not underestimating the Atlanta Hawks on the next round but Philadelphia Sixers is far from Milwaukee Bucks. I will go and pick Milwaukee Bucks on that series.

In the current betting here, Hawks is +1 but since they are explosive, as they surprised the Sixers, I will pass betting on it. I already won +1 at Bucks during the Nets series and will come again betting at the Finals if Bucks will win in Eastern Conference Finals.

PJ Tucker is already used to defending the main scorer on any team. I like to give him credits for defending the main scorers of Miami in the first round and taking Kevin Durant 1 on 1 even in isolation in the second round. He can take Trae Young head to head and limit the Hawks star offense.

Who you guys think will win the championship? Who should I put my money on?

You should not ask here since every people here has different preferences. You should bet base on what you feel and never rely on people's decision for your own money. Check bookmaker odds on sport betting website, just base your best on odds if you want to bet safe though.

But if I will choose, I will go either on Phoenix or Bucks. Don't take my pick seriously though. Grin

For the championship odds, these are the ranking according to favorites.

1. Bucks
2. Suns
3. Clippers
4. Hawks x12

Is this the ranking on most sportsbook or this data just come on the most popular sportsbook? Either way, I believe the odds of Bucks and Sun's is almost equal by the time they will face in finals. Betting each game might give a good profit since the result of each game can be an alternate base on the homecourt advantage. Game 6.and Game 7 will be the real gambling IMHO.

I believe it is the ranking on most sportsbooks as otherwise, it would be easy for bettors to do arbitrage betting. This data is taken from Sportsbet where I put most of my bets this playoff. I did not post the exact odds as it could changes from time to time depending on the outcome of every game of the ongoing series match-up.

Majority of voters thought Nets to advance but Bucks made it.

Obviously, there are lots of "what if" there. If the Nets played at their healthy lineup, the result might be different. But of course, take note that Milwaukee Bucks would surely have their play adjusted when Nets superstars are there.

People should gives credit to what Bucks has done and not just saying they won because Nets are incomplete.

Can't believe the hawks still in it really.  What were their odds to win the Eastern conference before the year started?

I've only remembered the odds for them winning the championship. Around x100.

IIRC, prior to Game 7 against the Sixers, Hawks are @6 winning the ECF and @3 to win at Game 7.

I'm impressed with the Hawks these season since out of nowhere they reach this far and they have chance to take the title.
I have to say it is really unexpected for me, I didn't see Hawks coming all the way to conference finals. I imagined it would be Nets vs Sixers conference finals at one side, Clipppers vs Lakers on the other side and then Lakers vs Nets finals in the end with whoever won. That is what I believed would happen around the start of the season, and that is what I believed at the start of the playoffs as well, I imagined Lakers sucked on regular season because Lebron and AD got injured and they were back so they would win against Suns, now Suns in conference finals and they even got a game without CP3 (albeit to a kawhiless clippers).

Let's see what is going to happen but I think this season could be the only season in my memory where I had to no idea who would win a series for whole playoffs, sure there were shocking results in some series before but not for ALL playoffs.

Until now people are still underestimating the Hawks, they are a huge underdog in the previous round and this round. There are even some of my friends that are giving the Hawks a +2 wins in the series, meaning, Hawks just need to win 2 games in order for a bet to win. I did take it actually as I believe the Hawks would not give up in this fight easily since NBA Finals is a huge dream to achieve, and Trae young at a young age, man, that's a big achievement on his side.

according to Wikipedia, Hawks only won one championship and that was way back 1958.

I bet most of us counted them out.

What were their odds to win the Eastern conference before the year started?  Probably a huge payoff.
I also do not know the figure but it's huge for sure. They were also a huge underdog before the semi-finals started.

Quote
They will actually match up decent against the bucks.  Might be worth a punt laying on them to win the whole thing.
I don't know about this yet. Giannis has a guard or forward that's not afraid to shoot the ball unlike Embiid with Simmons.

The blame game has started after bowing out to the Hawks. I think Embiid and Simmons will part ways after this and coach Doc will retain his job for one more season at least. It would have been a great match up with Sixers and the Bucks but they just blew it.

It's like what Miami did last season...and do not forget about the Suns.

Everyone said everything that can be said about the game, it was an insanely good game to watch, however I would like to point out that Durant was phenomenal this series, dude really deserves credit. I dislike him a lot because of the warriors move he did years ago, that was a very cheap move and he definitely deserved our hate, they won free rings basically thanks to him, and because of him Curry doesn't even own a single FMVP which he deserved a lot.

However even though I dislike him, I have to say dude carried the team all by himself, played full games without ever getting benched, played without his superstar buddies, basically he was the reason there was even a game seven.
Sure he may have missed the last shot but dude was the reason why they even had a last shot and that is why he should not be sad about this year, let's see how they will be next year, they will get some players on offseason who will want a chip, they will get dinwiddle back, and they will have all trio healthy again, barring another injury run they have a big shot to win it next season.

We have some light on the Clippers fans.

Leonard is out indefinitely but he is still not out in the WCF.

With this current update, https://www.cbssports.com/nba/players/playerpage/1715792/kawhi-leonard.. hopefully, he will be able to play in game 3.

Clippers' Kawhi Leonard: Will not travel to Phoenix
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
Leonard (knee) will continue rehabbing at home and will not travel with the Clippers to Phoenix for the start of the Western Conference Finals, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reports.

This essentially rules Leonard out for the first two games of the series against the Suns, but it's still in the realm of possibility that he returns for Game 3 in Los Angeles. However, there haven't been any updates on tangible progress for Leonard. In the meantime, Nicolas Batum, Marcus Morris and Terance Mann should continue seeing increased usage.

Since jazz is out of the picture well my bet will go to Bucks for winning the champ this year since if you compare the roosters among these teams we can say that bucks is more dominant among them, But we cannot predict since its early  to tell and maybe other teams will find ways on how they can outscored  the bucks on their match.

Bucks are the favorites now because they beat the favorites in this season. Maybe they'll have an easy journey against the Hawks but I'm sure the NBA finals will be tough for them, especially if a team knows how to play defense against Giannis, it would be better if Leonard will come back and they'll win the WCF as we know how effective Leonard is on limiting Giannis.

I'm liking the Bucks chances to go all the way at this point.  I don't think they'll have any problem taking down Atlanta and I think the Suns will have problems containing Giannis in the Finals.  With Kawhi Leonard possibly out for a while and Chris Paul set to return soon, I don't think the Clippers have enough to contain Booker and Ayton.  I'm shocked at how well Ayton is playing in these playoffs.  It's possible he'll shock me again and shut down the lane for Giannis, bringing my hometown team a much sought after Finals win.  I'm not sure I'd place a bet on that though.
Strongly agree. He is different, he have a real goal now. Booker already proved himself in last year's bubble. 5-0 in play-in tournament but they didn't have a chance to make it to the playoffs because of rankings.
Now, it's Ayton who is making a big change. I like how he is calm under the rim. He doesn't even fight even when he was being bumped too hard.
CP3 is a big impact to them. They will just let Jae Crowder do the fighting for them.  Cheesy
Anyway, I am seeing Ayton to put big numbers like double-double every game until the end of this Finals. No injuries, fingers crossed. I'll put my props for him at 23+ points and rebounds.
