What a performance by the San Antonio Spurs, beating OKC. Wemby shows up in the 4th quarter with back to back 3's and then he had a block against Chet, his rival for the rookie of the year. Score is 132-118.

SGA lead the OKC, then climb back in the game after down by 11 and even lead 3 points in the last 8 minutes of the game. But after the time out with 4 minutes left, Wemby was in a mission to not let this game slip away from them. Crowd was so loud that you can't hear the whistle. So great win for them against the 2nd seed Thunder.

Ya, that game screwed my parlay. Wemby just keeps getting better. It’s surprising and impressive. He’s getting to the level he can carry his team to some wins.

The Lakers game is down to the wire tonight. Quite a difference from their heroics last game. If they don’t get it together they might lose to the Wizards in a few minutes.

Edit: Lakers got the win in overtime. The story of the night for me though was Jordan Poole coming off the bench to have his best game of the year.
Lakers almost lost this one against the Wizards, good thing is that Reaves make a difficult bank shot to force OT. Kuzma give them a lead with his 3. But then Lebron James, has his own 3 and a dish out to AD. And then the chase down block on Poole, though and that might have clinch the win for them. Rui didn't score in double digits, but he had one rebound that really also put the game for good for them. AD had a monster 40 points and James had 30 points. Lebron is chasing 40,000 points, obviously the first player that will have that stat line and making it harder for any current players to even touch that record.

"Oh my mama, Wembanyama"  Grin, great performance by the rookie, but he needs more of this.

Did you bag the small ML odds on OKC to boost the parley a tiny bit?
That's always the most frustrating. I rarely do parleys but if I do and lose only because of 1 game it's pretty much always the smallest odds in the parley that lose.  Cry

Good to see Chet vs Wemby in a direct duel. Guess all the end of the year awards deciding people had a close look on that game. Slowly Wemby is pulling away I would assume, given his recent performances.
Sad for Chet though, he has a great season but someone else's is just even better.

Victor Wembanyama went bananas again.  Cheesy
Leading the San Antonio Spurs team to win the home game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
28 points, 13 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal, and 4 important blocks that boosted their team to play hardcore defense in the 4th quarter.
Damn, this dude is a stats magnet. He even blocked Chet Holmgren's fadeaway perimeter shot. How difficult was that? It needs proper timing and a mindset to block him whatever happens. You can see greatness in that young player whenever he is on the floor and the Spurs bench loved it.

Golden State Warriors also played great in their last few games. Defense is on a high level. Their offense is scattered to many players, it ain't about Curry anymore. Jonathan Kuminga, oh yeah, another young player that is in the spotlight this season. 25 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. One of those blocks is a special one that I bet will go to the top 10 highlights when he blocked Brunson.
Warriors won against an undermanned Knicks.

The Warriors are the favorite in this game and I will say that you don't have to worry. I mean it's a 4 quarter games, so there will be times specially in the first half that it's going to be neck to neck games. But if you have followed the Warriors, they are usually a 3rd quarter team, meaning they really pour out everything in that quarter to make a separation and then continue their momentum in the last quarter. At least Klay Thompson, who is inconsistent this season, lead the Warriors and Chris Paul's comeback make a impact to the team. But I do agree, against the Knicks, they might have a hard time, and they will have to travel to Madison Square Garden and the Warriors are not known to be a road team.

I will still say that the warriors will have a good performance because they have all the important players available for this game. So I believe they should be able to win this one. But the problem is it is not going to be easy regardless. Let's see how the Warriors play out this one.

They won already, score is 110-99. And it was Curry again who lead the team, Knicks try to make it a game, but the 1st quarter was enough for the Warriors to build a good lead and they didn't choke this time in the 4th quarter. Klay Thompson, so-so performance with 16 points, and Chris Paul with 11 and 6. You can see that it was Paul who bring the ball in the 4th quarter to not put to much on Curry and then dagger three in the last 2 minutes put the game for them although Brunson responded but Steph put a pick for Draymond for easy two and then they just play defense on the other side and force Brunson for another turn-over. Dubs are hot right now, specially in the road, they are not known for being a road team. Next stop is Toronto, great chance for them to continue with their winning streak.

Warriors are hot, they just beat the Knicks at MSG, Steph the high man with 31 points including 8 shots from the three point arc. It seems that it's a different Warrior now at the second half of the season. They are now complete with CP3 back in the game, although it was Wiggins who are out in this game.

Still in the 10th position in the Western Conference, but anything goes here. Lakers are also trying to break in the top 8 of the standings.

So it will be good competition down the stretch for the playoff and play-in in this conference.

Ya, they’re saying it was the biggest fourth quarter comeback in LeBron’s career. Considering his age, that’s a bit of an accomplishment. I still say the game would have had a much different outcome if Paul George was playing, but a win is a win. The Lakers seem like they can win or lose at any time. The playoffs will be interesting for them.

Yep, sometimes the Lakers can be completely unpredictable to both fans and their opponents. It's funny how they can be a hopeless underdog in one game and a top team in another.
As for the game against the Clippers, I personally think that if George had been there, he would hardly have been able to stop LeBron in the fourth quarter.

When Lakers play defense, they are really good at it but it just doesn't feel too consistent right now. They kept Clippers to 16 points in all of fourth quarter, that's on pace for 64 points in 4 quarters, to show you how amazing their defense at last quarter was. Sure their offense was decent as well but nothing unheard of, but their defense was just insane.

So when Lakers team wants to just lockdown the other team, they show that they can do that, they just don't do in all games and they do not do that in all quarters, they just do it when they want to and some sort of switch comes on and they end up being amazing. I believe that they are going to end up with a lot of trouble if they do not keep that switch on during playoffs.

It wasn't even so much the Lakers but that was a classic lebron game.  When he wants to take over there is little to nothing the other team could do.  Lebron took guarding kawhi personally.  Don't know why but that was playoff lebron that showed up in the 4th quarter.  Will be interesting how much Bron plays tonight on the second night of a back to back.

That's why they cannot be underestimated because if they feel like winning, they won't gonna give their opponent easy games rather they fight until the last minute and this is one example of that. They are not gonna give the Clippers an easy win despite they are the favorite team to win last night and they were dazzled in the last quarter when LBJ took matters into his own hands by making shot after shots to keep trimming the lead until they finally catch up and win the game. This is how he takes over a crucial game and if only he was in his prime, this is how most of his games against top teams will end up like how they used to be back at the Miami Heat.

Well this is Basketball folks. Besides Lakers is not a heavy underdog since they have both Davis and Reaves to support Lebron while Clippers don’t have PG. In fact they have the advantage here if we don’t discredit casually Lebron capabilities which many already doing due to negativity.

Lebron is still far from over because he has a good physique that can help him a good game if luck and momentum is on his side. I will never underestimate Lakers especially if the team they are facing is just Clippers without PG or even with PH if Bron is on beastmode.

Man, I honestly did not expect that kind of performance from the Lakers in the final quarter. The Lakers team absolutely went crazy. They were behind by a lot on the scoreboard. And of course, LeBron James had a great performance. And he is definitely "far from over". I believe they did great and it was a ”one-of-a-kind “ comeback. Shocked

Lakers gave the Clips a taste of their own medicine. LOL. Honestly, I wasn't expecting that; I thought the Clippers had a good night and would bounce back from their previous loss. But it turns out PG was really a big factor on their offense and defense, and they badly need him. Great game by Bron, although the Lakers are very unpredictable, they are fun to watch because they get better against a good team like the Clips.

Bookies don't see that they have the advantage because they are the underdog. Though just a slight underdog, for the sake of argument, let's give the advantage to the Clippers in that game. And there will be no more discussion on how great LeBron is if they lose because they were beaten by the PG-less Clippers. Let's respect LeBron, but judging by the Lakers' performance recently, they still lack consistency.

Lebron is still far from over because he has a good physique that can help him a good game if luck and momentum is on his side. I will never underestimate Lakers especially if the team they are facing is just Clippers without PG or even with PH if Bron is on beastmode.

His stats are still impressive, but honestly, his impact on the team is not the same as when he was still in his prime. So, as LeBron is declining, his chance to win the championship is also declining.

What a comeback by the Lakers to beat their rival in Clippers. Lebron James anchoring the comeback and then just making the right decision in the last 3 minutes or so. Passed to Rui for a 3, to take a 3 point lead. And then the same play on the side for Rui but this time he squeeze in for a reverse. And then to D'Lo for another 3. Although he himself missed a 3 and a drive, he played defense on Kawhi in the last 9 seconds.

And so again their starting five doing much of the damage with Lebron's 34 points, and AD with 20 points.

Kawhi could have tie and force OT if he just hit that fade away, his go to move, but it was short.

That final quarter was something else.
I only watched the recap and couldn't believe how the Lakers turned this game around.
Apparently also the Lakers didn't win "visiting" the Clippers since 2002. Considering how bad the Clippers were that's quite surprising.
The Clippers should really question themselves how losing a 21 point lead in like 8 minutes is possible with this team. Ok George was out but they still have Kawhi, Westbrick  Grin , Harden and solid role players, a 16:39 4th quarter should not happen here. You can slow down the pace, let the clock work in your favour but most importantly, slow down a 39 year old LBJ. Don't give him wide open 3s and so on, you know he can get hot.

Anyway, good win for the Lakers, I didn't see that coming to be honest!

I disagree, dude is the best player in a first ranked team, with 27 points, 8.5 rebounds and 5 assists. Thats good enough for a MVP discussion without a doubt, this should be something that would benefit even if we keep just the "best player in a first ranked team", not even east only, we are talking about both east and west, that's a damn good team and he is the best player in that team. What else would you need for someone to be in MVP discussion? That should be the most important part. I believe that he is much better than all other candidates so far, everyone else plays great in either bad teams, or teams that are still worse than Celtics, so it should be recognized that Tatum is having a great year.

Many factors determine whether a player deserves the MVP trophy or not. I think both the team results and the individual stats of a player are important. As for Tatum, he is certainly good and is the best player on his team. However, if you compare his stats with players like Giannis, Embiid, Jokic, and Luka, it'll be clear why he's behind them in the race for the MVP trophy.

Obviously, Tatum is a great player and is one of the best. He is definitely the best in Boston as well. But the numbers do not lie. Tatum is not yet a top 5 for now. Guys like Luka, Shai, Jokic, Embiid and Giannis are the ones dominating the stats. And that will be a huge disrespect if Tatum gets the MVP nod.

Tatum has great teammates which is why many players are leading in numbers but the accuracy stats also say he is not yet in there as an MVP. He is still 25 though and has a lot of years in him. There is also room for improvement.

The main reason why Tatum does not excel in the stats is that the Celtics share the ball very well. Although Tatum is probably their best player, other starters also step up. I think for Tatum, it will be more significant in his career if he wins a championship first before winning a season MVP. This season, the Celtics have a very good chance of winning the championship, and with that said, if they win, Tatum will likely get his first Finals MVP award, making it easier for him to win a season MVP in the future.

Yes, player like Luka is dominating the game right now, but overall if we look at the teams, Boston are on top and very consistent with Tatum leading the team. I read though some articles that he is just being over look because he has lost to the Warriors before as they are the favorite to win that series and the championship.

Tatum has great teammates which is why many players are leading in numbers but the accuracy stats also say he is not yet in there as an MVP. He is still 25 though and has a lot of years in him. There is also room for improvement.
He might likely get the finals MVP, but for the regular season, very tough unless he put like Luka numbers in the second half of the season and maybe he will get the respect from the media and fans alike. Yes, he is still very young and maybe what he should target is for Boston to win a championship with him leading team.

They maybe feel relax for thinking that they have the momentum of the game since Lakers really struggle at early quarter. But suddenly the situation change and they been choked by Lakers lose in that game. If they continue to be like that where they are inconsistent until the end of the game then provably they can't go anywhere with that.

They are not relaxed; it's just that the Lakers got the momentum, and they made better plays in the last quarter to secure the victory. Big comebacks from a huge deficit are not new in the NBA; this season, I've seen a lot of games already. The same thing happened to the Warriors when they were up by like 20 points, but they allowed the Clippers to come back and win. Leonard was out in that game, while PG fouled out in the 4th with 3 minutes remaining in the game.
But let see if they could adjust on situation and find good solution on the lapses they made on their game against lakers. After all Clippers still doing great and they do good adjustment recently on their roster rotation since we see it works well.

Maybe they will just let the guy rest and activate him on playoffs.
That is still counted as one loss. I think I'll continue backing them until they start winning again, this team had figured out how to win already, for sure next game they'll win because they'll be hosting the Wizards
