Crazy game 2 between the Lakers and the Nuggets. Everyone thought the Lakers are gonna steal the game 2 as they lead 20 pts at some pt in the 3rd quarter, but the Nuggets didn't give up, was able to establish momentum in the 4th. Though they did not take the lead, but Murray just made a buzzer beater to beat the Lakers by 2 pts.
Man, it looks like the Lakers really stand no chance against the Nuggets. They have not won against them for 2 years straight now lol.
Davis was almost perfect in the 1st half but totally disappeared in the 2nd half.
It looks the Lakers' chance to win this series is by miracle lol.

That game is so crazy, it made me scream so much in the house that I did not eat for the entire day LOL. It is just very frustrating to see them lose in the worst possible way. If it was a close game, it would be fine for me, but they choked! They had a 20-point lead in the 3rd quarter, but after that, everything went downhill. They're questioning the officiating, saying that the game is fine, but still, they should've adjusted to the game and didn't let the calls affect them. After getting the 20-point lead, they get complacent and comfortable; they try to play slow always and want to burn the clock that much; also, there are some plays where it is always isolation and ends up a missed shot, and Nuggets will start the fast break and get the point. At this point, I really believe that coaching is one aspect that the Lakers front office should look into. It's always like that: the Lakers have a great first half, then lose it all in the second.
Yeah, they played really well in the first half of the game, and then the 2nd half too, they owned the Denver Nuggets at every possible way from defense to offense but they missed so many shots and were not able to protect their lead while Jokic and the Nuggets crew took advantage of that. There was even a time when Lebron shouldered it all from blocking shots to making threes just so they could still have the lead. 89-81 was the last strong lead but again, it was not preserved.
I give credit to the Nuggets too, they were never frustrated about what was happening and they kept on fighting even on that 20-point lead.

Today, Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, and the whole Mavs roster are rejoicing for stealing one win in the home of the Clippers. That's big! Kyrie knew it and he said it in the post-game interview. He knew how difficult it would be to recover from a 2-0 lead and he knew the statistics. I love that new Kyrie without dramas.

I don't see they are relying on Lebron too much, it's probably just the ball movement or the coach design, because if we look at the stats in game 2, their bench points are very low knowing they also have a good bench.

These players are not contributing with good numbers ...

 Prince 6 points
Vincent 0
Dinwiddie 0
Hayes 0

and even one of their starters Hachimura only scored    3 points in 37 minutes playing time.

And compared with the players of Nuggets where ball movement is really providing good touches for the players who are playing inside, they need to adjust and if possible to give those known players enough touches and good looks to shots and contribute for the game, not only for defensive purpose but also give them confidence taking those shots and not to just watch and wait for LeBron, Davis and DLo' if they will going to pass the ball and give them opportunities,

but instead rotate and show up to add threats to the opposing team, it will also create good space for those core players to make much easier shots and not to force and made an errors.

Nuggets have 5 players with double digit but the Lakers only have 3 (Lebron, AD, and Russell... What will happen if Russell will have a bad game as we all know his consistency is not reliable. I hope they'll find more scorers in game 3, maybe help Reaves improve his game too as he has been underperforming in the series so far.

But as far as this year's playoff, if Lebron will be able to withstand and with against the Nuggets, it will be another historic feat for him. Like climbing back 1-3 deficit against the Warriors and then winning it for the city of Cleveland. But it's a long task for him, Nuggets are in the verge of defending their championship for this yeaer.

That was the old days when Lebron is still on his prime like he can attack the rim and was unstoppable. Now, although he can still produce a decent output but his impact to the team is already different. Now, for Lebron and his team to win, he needs his teammates to play well, especially Davis, as far as I see, Davis is playing well, it's just that some aren't that consistent yet.

Game 2 was a testament that they have a problem with holding their lead, because they were up 20 but ended up losing by 2.

So last chance for the Lakers, win game 3 and 4 and that would be a brand new series.

I guess to make Lakers roster work they should not rely heavily on Lebron since we can see that he is not the same as before. Although its undeniable that he is good but current situation is different. They have a lot of guys can contribute a lot and they just need to get more touches of the ball so they can perform so well. Lebron really need his team to step up and I guess there's a problem with Lakers system since if they could able to design some good plays where their role players and other people can spread out well on the floor maybe we can see a different result or a hard to beat Lakers this season.

Last chance for Lakers to adjust and fix their mess since if Nuggets will continue to dominate them then this is another sweep for them and for sure a lot of people which is fan of other team will mock at their defeat.
That is 100% true, especially for GSW fans; they will mock them hard, just like what the Lakers' fans did when the Warriors were eliminated. Anyway, what other players should do is not solely rely on LeBron or AD on offense. Because if they continue to do that, a sweep is inevitable. Just like what you've said, they need to get more touches on the ball, which is kind of hard to do when LeBron is on the floor.

And as we have been saying, the Mavs are going to claw back and they have the equalizer in game 2. Luka will not allow his team to lose this important game and steal one from the Clippers. They started hot but Clippers makes a huge comeback and even take the lead.

But back to back 3 by Luka and Irving and it ignited a 14-0 run. PJ Washington was a big help as well and Jones has double digits with 10 points and one crucial FT.

So the series goes to Dallas now, gonna be hard for the Clippers to win on that floor but let's see.
When it was 1:26 left in the game, Clippers only had 81 points. That's crazy. It is like european basketball scoring, worse than some of the euroleague games. Both teams scored a lot in the last 1:26 actually. But it was not enough for Clippers. They played quite badly and especially in the second half, Mavs were much better.

After the first game I though Clippers were better than I expected but this game changed the series. I believe Clippers' job is very hard. Mavs played better defence than in the first game, especially in the last quarter, and Luka looked much better than in the first game. It's hard to predict who will win the series with this game, but no matter what, it seems like the clippers are one step ahead. If Kawhi plays like himself.

His greatness already sealed up and people who are following his milestone know that there's nothing to prove anymore. He already achieve a lot on his career and he's been consider to be the greatest basketball player in the league so with that everything is done already even if they lose to Nuggets. Its really great that despite of his age he can still perform like that and can able generate big numbers to his team.

But the game does not end yet and Lakers still have chance to fight back. We all know how capable they are to perform well and its just they need good plan to play more better also have good execution the same at what they did at earliest part in game two. If they can limit Jokic and Murray on game three them provably they can possibly take a win and can regain back their chance to advance on next round. Lakers is not easy team and those guys have good playoffs and championship experience.

Lebron will certainly become a hall of famer but on the debate about the GOAT, I don't think he could replace MJ, and I don't even see him as next to MJ. Yeah, Lebron's legacy has been cemented but the discussion that Lebron could not beat Jokic's team, that's another thing.  I hope they'll play their best, better than what they showed in the last two games, that was close but the Lakers aren't clutch enough, so they need to make sure that they'll start strong again and will not allow the nuggets to rally.

It's very different, we can't compare era's. For some of us, it's MJ (including myself), as we grow on that era. But as far as some numbers is, Lebron had it, like the all time scoring leader.

We should wait until game 3 is over, that's the best chance the Lakers could win because they are at home and they have the crowd to support them. I'm also betting on the legacy of Lebron because it doesn't look good if Lebron got swept again by the Nuggets which he is a hall of famer and even in the discussion on being a GOAT. I know the momentum is on the Nuggets but in the last 2 games, they Lakers had control at the start they just failed in the end which is something they have to figure out how to improve.

LeBron has proven many times throughout his career that he is one of the best players in the history of the NBA. So, even if the Lakers lose the upcoming game, it won't change anything regarding LeBron's greatness on the court. Just keep in mind the fact that no matter how great and versatile a player is, he can never win a championship by himself.

+1

I also agree that regardless of what happens in the Lakers vs Nuggets series, it is not going to deter LeBron James' legacy and status as one of the greatest player the NBA has ever seen, how many of his draft class are still playing basketball up to date, let alone performing at a top level which Lebron is still doing at age 39.

Lakers have their self to blame from letting game 2 slip through the fingers, but the series is still very much far from over and if there is anything worth nothing in the first 2 games, it's that the Lakers are an highly competitive team, and making the playoffs via the play-in and being up against the defending champion and 2nd seeded team in the west have not change that fact, with the series now heading to LA, you should expect a different atmosphere and a better result from Lakers, if the Lakers stood a very good chance to have won a game in Denver, I don't see what's stopping them from restoring parity on home court.

Anyone appreciate the defense that was put by both teams in the Dallas vs Clippers game? We can see steals and block shots and it was really playoff intensity between the two that you thought we go back to the 2000 era of defense, no team reaches the century mark. Kyrie and Luka again combine for 55 big points between the two. Kleber's rebound though after a Kyrie missed free throws was huge. Playoff Kawhi is not there yet, missing some shots and not sure how many games did he played in the playoff for the Clippers in his tenure with the team. And it's really good acquisition of the Mavs to get PJ Washington as he played defense and those back to back threes was very big for them in the 3rd quarter to keep the Clippers at bay as they are in a comeback.

Kidding aside, I'll stick with my previous prediction on this series that the Nuggets will sweep the Lakers like what they did last playoffs. Jokic is just too much for AD to handle. His footwork and his vision is too much that even AD who "MUST" be a candidate for Defensive player of the year is no-match against his him. TBH, I would not want to go all-in with the Lakers right now. Obviously, the duo of Murray and Jokic can't be stop by anybody on the Laker roster, and Darvin Ham seems crumbling in clutch time, and can't make good decisions. Nevertheless, I still believe that the Nuggets will sweep them. Smiley

No disrespect towards Laker fans out there. It's just my prediction.

Let's see mate... If the Lakers loss in game 3 then I can say that your prediction is right as I would not even count the succeeding game/s.

Before their series started, I also thought that this will be either a sweep or a 4-1 in favor of the defending champions. Currently it is 2-0 for Denver but we did saw that Lakers has the potential to win since they did make the games close and even had a huge lead in one of those games. But I am still holding on with my prediction. Denver might play even better as their series progressed. And as long as Jokic is healthy, there's a lot of options for the team to execute their offense. We'll see what Ham can do when the games are switching to their homecourt.

We should wait until game 3 is over, that's the best chance the Lakers could win because they are at home and they have the crowd to support them. They did get a bit of a bad deal on game 2. I think that alone will probably be enough to defeat them. Remember the Cavs after JR Smith cost them a game against the Warriors. LeBron didn’t get another win that series. From the press conference you could see that the players were defeated and blaming the refs. That’s going to be as big a hurdle to overcome as the Nuggets.

I get it but I'm not giving up on my Laker.  Grin

I'm optimistic that we will have a win in game 3 and things will change on how people see them in this series. Lebron in its greatness, he'll come up with something special, they blaming the refs, maybe in game 3 they'll be thanking the refs. I don't know, but I think the league would not allow for this series not to prolong.

Meanwhile, Dallas got a win on the road and have even the series, Leonard came back after missing 9 games but he was missing, so I'm okay with seeing him play in game 3 because I feel it will favor Dallas. And Irving was just special, he help Luka a lot and he really make easy for the Mavs because he moves a lot, defend and very reliable on his shooting.

I know the momentum is on the Nuggets but in the last 2 games, they Lakers had control at the start they just failed in the end which is something they have to figure out how to improve.

The Suns looked bad tonight. Really bad. All that money assembling a big 3 and not one of them can even shoot 50% from the field… They’re getting pieces up by no names… At least they managed to hold Anthony Edwards to a bad game offensively, but it doesn’t look good for Phoenix. At this point they’re going to need a complete turnaround to avoid an early exit from the playoffs.
Look... I'm surprised by the Suns performance, I confess that they made great efforts to form a big 3, in theory the Suns have an excellent team, but in practice, the performance is not in line with the expectations that many fans expected from the Suns.

Well, let's see how the Suns perform in the next games, I believe they can have an excellent result playing at home (Footprint Center)
