Is there anyone that's thinking of a big boost to the team of Brooklyn?

Before this team has always been one at the bottom but now they've acquired two great players although many are doubting KD because of the injury that he had.
Yes, compared to last season, the current lineup of Brooklyn Nets is much more improved.
Brooklyn had a decent run last season. For next season, we'll have to see that first. Kyrie, Deandre and others on the roster will be playing with each other for the first time if I am not mistaken. They'll need to work on their chemistry.
They have to as the new guys are leading them, but I'm pretty sure they can have a good chemistry and even without Durant, they will be in the playoffs.
I think the only think that has no movement on the entire roster is the Bucks, they will also be a threat in the coming season as they were coming from a very big loss against the Raptors, they were the favorites so they will not forget that, I'm sure Giannis were too much affected on that loss.

AD played on Pelicans as well and they were not that good, so 2 players who are definitely good but couldn't make their teams that good getting together makes them second best team? I feel like they would be more like 4th best team on western conference let alone the whole league.
Him and cousins did played good together. But they lack the experience that time, and now with Lebron, at least someone can 'mentor' him.

And we also have to remember that both players are prone to injury, cousins and AD has not played the entire season without an injury problem, and because of that it affects the chemistry of the team as their injury would not only make them out in days, but sometimes it take weeks or months before they can come back and play.

Everyone seems to think that Lakers will be heavy favorites this season and even if you look at the sportsbooks you see that the second best odds behind clippers is Lakers. Do you guys really think that they would be that good? I mean I know they have Lebron and AD but they had Lebron last year too and didn't even make it to playoffs, so now we put AD on top of it so of course they will become better but second best team in the league type of good? Does getting AD make a team "not playoff worthy" to "second best team" all of a sudden?

It is because Lebron got injured last year. I think they're in the 3rd-5th spot when Lebron got that injury. And as expected, they suffered successive losses and eventually didn't make it. Of course, adding a good elite player will chance the complexion of who is going to be the favourites to win, according to sport bookies.

Yes, compared to last season, the current lineup of Brooklyn Nets is much more improved.

Even Kevin Durant is expected to be ruled out (there's no official announcement yet) for the rest of the next season, having Kyrie Irving on the floor will surely change the usual gameplay of Brooklyn. He will be the main man of this team throughout the season. No conflicts in terms of playing roles unlike in Celtics (Rozier, Tatum, Brown etc.)This is a great opportunity for Kyrie to show what's more in him although expect some difficulties on the way as we all know the big difference between his teammates in Boston Celtics and to the current ones.

DeAndre Jordan, although not performing well last season is a good addition too on Brooklyn's big man.

Last year was different and Lebron had that bad injury in his groin.

Last year also told us what the new Lebron will look like. He keeps on passing the ball and just making plays.
More like a Magic Johnson style. Now, he had found is Kareem.
That is what makes it one of the crowd favorite.
But there is more. The simple reason that it is LA. Take them to the Knicks and it will be the same.

I guess we will really have to see it before we can judge. The first 10 games will tell if there is a conflict.

Both are used to be a ball-hog for several seasons.

Let's extend the chemistry process to 30 games lol. 10-15 games are trial. More than 20 games, they will now work for the solution to the problems they will encounter on the trial period. If after 30 games, still, nothing good happens, then the trade failed.  I'm expecting for a changed but not within the few early games.

They are lack of supporting cast, AD@NOP and LBJ@LAL. With the revamp of Lakers rosters, I do expect for a changed.

And just because they are favorites this season, it does mean they are the best team. Odds are not the basis.

Most of the sportsbook do that and AFAIK last year Lebron came in to Lakers and the season has already started so it means that he didn't started with the team from the beginning.
It's a big name that has been added to the roster so expect that there will be the same treatment just like what happened last year.

There are a lot of talks about how Harden and Westbrook would work. I'm trying to figure is out as well and running some simulations in my head  Grin
Harden will probably do most of the dribbling and outside shooting while Westbrook will be cutting the lane and dunking more often.

This would be an amazing attaching combination.
My question is: Who is going to play defense? They will be having plenty attaching opportunities but not at all defensive ones.
Defending is another’s players work ofcourse because Westbrook and Harden will do the scoring(though some defense also if in their front I guess)

The team has 5 players and they are only the two mentioned so don’t bother about the def because there will be someone assigned for that

Both of them doesn't have a good defence, specially Harden. They are under D'Antoni's system, and we all know that they don't 'priority' defence. The play is to run, which I think Russell can easily adopt. But then again, we still need to see how they are going to blend.

I saw some highlights when they were both playing for the Thunders. They link up pretty well. I think we will see a lot of alley-oop between the two.

Rockets will have four players defending. Westbrook is pretty decent with defense while Harden will be there to receive the ball and dribble to their side of the court.

Yeah Harden works better with his outside the ring shots while Westbrook is strong under the ring.

In order for them to be effective together, Westbrook should be the one bringing the ball and Harden will just wait for the pass when the defense commits on Westbrook. He is so athletic so for sure he will be guarded properly and gives the outside shooters more opportunity which would make them a very dangerous team, that if they will really play based on the design play.
That still depends on the coach of their opponent by those times. They are more aware of this kind of situation so defense should be reliable and balance for both players.

Westbrook inside ring while outside for Harden, every team that they will match should clearly look at both places.

What comes to my mind is "Are they really will work?"
For me, they are not will be a good tandem but still, who knows?  Or maybe Russell Westbrook will be the reason why James Harden will leave the Houston Rockets? I really want to see how their tandem will work second after the Lebron James/Anthony Davis tandem.

A lot of teams now are having some Dou-Superstars. This will be a good season for NBA again. Let's wait for it Wink I'm super excited for the future games with these new line-ups.

Upcoming playoffs will certainly be a big duel for all teams. All of them are strong and well equipt team members. Will have to expect more plays by new coming rookies have to see. But aren't sure how this Russell and Harden become effective or have no change just like it happen to OKC before when the this to players started.

Probably they will work out as we haven't seen the game for this season. We will see on how they will go along with each other and as long as no one will allow his ego to turn massive inside the court, they should be fine.

I think that they will make some adjustments on their individual game for the good of the team as they are not kids anymore. If they want to win a championship ring they must make some sacrifices and i know that they can surprise everybody around the association.
