Despite being a huge underdog, it's worth taking a risk on the Heat because we know they won't give up easily. They reached the NBA Finals in the bubble, and Butler has been delivering the best playoff performance of his career this offseason. I'm confident he won't be stopped by the Celtics. The Heat are playing with great discipline, and everyone is contributing to their defensive efforts.

So, why not? Let's go Heat!

The Heat has been in this situation before and surely they know what they were lacking in their past games against the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference finals last season they will more likely gonna change their rotations and will gonna do the right thing this time. they are the real torn for the Celtics to get back to the NBA finals once again this year and they really need to work harder to beat this healthy Miami Heat.
The Heat have faced a similar situation in the first round and managed to defeat the Bucks. However, it's worth noting that the Bucks weren't fully healthy as Giannis missed a couple of games due to injury. On the other hand, the Celtics are currently at full strength, making it a tougher battle in the ECF. Nevertheless, I still have faith in the Heat to put up a good fight. It wouldn't surprise me if this series goes to a game 7, and the Heat come out victorious on the road.

Quote
Since the Lakers have already beaten the GSW my attention is on this one because these teams will not gonna give an easy win to each other, especially in this first game of this series.
The attention is currently focused on the Lakers vs Denver series, and the result of the first game has put Denver ahead in the series. The Lakers have a significant fan base that may be disappointed if they get eliminated.

I didn’t feel like it was a one sided game. The Nuggets had the lead the whole game but they never got too far out of reach. LeBron even had a chance to tie it with a 3 late in the fourth. Both teams shot excellent from the field. It was a great game to watch. It had everything you’d expect. The big difference in the game was rebounds. The Lakers need to step it up on the boards. They can’t be outrebounded by nearly 20 and win.

Thought earlier that its one sided game but lakers slowly eating the lead until they make the lead of Nuggets to single digit. But they caught off guarded as the time nearly ends since if they could just sustain that energy on early part of the gane well maybe they will not get dominated by Nuggets on game 1. But for sure they learn a lot from thus so they need to be more aggressive and exert more effort on defense since provably they can take the win on game 2.
.

It's really hard to sustain that kind of comeback though, yeah, they cut the lead into single digits, and as low as 5 points if I'm not mistaken.
They were only down by 3 points at one point.

But it just took one mistake on the Lakers side and then the Nuggets capitalizing on it.

Yes, it was a game between Jokic and Davis, but Murray has a good game and that fast hands to tap the ball and steal the ball from James, that was one hell of a defensive play for him and I think that its the crucial play of the game for the Nuggets.

But the coaching staff needs to address their defensive mistake. Putting Murray to defend against LeBron was a wrong decision, as LeBron could easily dominate that matchup and drive the ball inside without much resistance. Murray is the team's best scorer, perhaps next to Jokic, and if he gets tired from trying to stop LeBron, his production might decrease. In my opinion, it should always be Gordon guarding LeBron.

When the Lakers were attempting to reduce the lead, the game became incredibly entertaining to watch. I admired how the Lakers managed to stage a comeback from a significant deficit, displaying their relentless effort. However, they fell just short in the end. The Nuggets have already taken the lead in the series, but from my perspective, it seems like it will be a closely contested series. As long as the Nuggets can secure victories in all their home games, they have the advantage.

Everything about that game was yet another historic performance from THE JOKER!

Good thing they have an answer on offensive set created by lakers that's the reason they take this win on game one. AD perform so well this game one and for sure many want to see how Lakers could answer on game two since for sure they learn something with Nuggets especially on dying minutes. If they could just put  defensive pressure on Jokic and to their shooters maybe the result would be different and flow will be in favor to them.

That is one big image you got there. Should've cut it down, it takes a while to load the whole thing. Grin

I am putting my bet on Miami Heat on one of the first two games in Boston. Maybe Game 2. Then, I will bet the 2 more in Miami for the Heat. Game 5 will be forced by the Celtics for 2-3 and Game 6 is where I think it will end in favor of the Miami Heat. But that is just my prediction as I think the Heat are stronger with Adebayo and Butler combined and they have a deep bench too with good defensive rating. This will not just be a battle of coach's strategy and adjustments, but stamina will also be a huge factor to win the game.

It was really an interesting game indeed and what will happen can Smart make a good defense against Jimmy Butler, or can Butler can score an exclusive shot that Marcus Smart wouldn't predict, for me if the odds are high enough for the Boston Celtics I would risk a bet for the Miami Heat, Cody Zeller is questionable but I think it is OK for Bam Adebayo to be a center instead of Cody Zeller, the New York Knicks that are a new team was defeated by the Heat but surely I think this is one interesting game to watch, I think I will risk betting for the Miami Heat this is going to be interesting,

I guess we need some laughs here, did you guys saw how Dwight's video making fun of inviting those that have been eliminated already like Julius Randle, Klay, Ayton, Poole and there are others. Well, it's actually funny how he's inviting them to play on T1 League in Taiwan. For the reference guys, I've seen it on this page on Facebook "Ballislife".

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Thanks for this actually I was not going to watch NBA anymore because of the Golden State Warriors but I find that the games now are pretty much interesting and would likely want to see the games of the Los Angeles Lakers VS the Denver Nuggets goes and will likely look at the free throws but yeah the Free Throws are normal for now, actually, the Denver Nuggets win the 1st game but the Lakers will surely come back for sure,

Well, back to Dwight Howard it is likely that NBA players just like Dillon "Dynasty" Brooks will be out to NBA and will likely go with the Asian basketball league as an import player,

Both coaches will need to do hella adjustments for Thursday. Ham will probably scrap the three-guard lineup and put Hachimura / Vando on Jokic. Malone will need to adjust to that and also find a way to counter LeBron switching and posting up Murray. Seems the Nuggest have more to think about, but they have one W which more than compensates for that.

Think the defensive schemes next game should be a bit easier to implement, as the role players on both teams should revert to the mean with their shooting.

The first-half strategy of the Nuggets was so simple, pull Anthony Davis out by putting Jokic at a high post and it was successful. In the next half, Coach Ham made a big risk by deciding to put AD against Gordon and it worked like a charm. Coach Malone didn't adjust well and Gordon was so used to staying below the rim that he don't know what to do.
As Jeff Van Gundy said about Gordon being their key factor to winning the next game, I think I agree. There's so much room for improvement in the Nuggets team as long as they know what is happening in their environment.
Gordon could pull AD outside too and if he doesn't, punish him by shooting threes. He ain't bad at shooting those distance shots, he can make it.

Nikola Jokic 6th triple-double in the post-season. He is a monster and that prayer 3-pointer just made AD smile.  Cheesy Nuggets claiming the first win. It's damn entertaining when the Lakers got back and cut the lead by three.

Wonder how Wemby holds up tho. Players with his size have a spotty health track record. He might not get career ending injuries, more such diminishing his effectiveness a la Porizingis. That said the Spurs are the original "DNP - OLD" champions, so there is hope.

Well, San Antonio with the 1st pick in the draft this year, they did everything in their power to get some odds to get it, and it was successful.

Sometimes losing pays out Smiley .

Guess the NBA is not suuuper happy since they obviously want to see Wembanyama in a big market but since LA, NY and so on all had good seasons it is what it is.

It will definitely be good for Wemby because he will get a great coach (that just signed an extension) which is know for developing players into stars. Also since Texas has vno state income tax he can earn more money on his rookie contract.

Looking forward for summer league and so on, it's gonna be a show!

What a start for the Lakers and Nuggets first quarter. Jokic making nearly a double-double. They've got 37-25 and that's in favor of the Nuggets.

It seems that everyone who's saying that this first game will be taken by Nuggets are correct. But we'll see, the match hasn't ended yet.

Well, the 2nd quarter has started.
It's not over yet. We've seen big leads in the playoffs where the opposing team was able to come back and win the game. So, while I would like the Nuggets to win the series and every game, I cannot be too confident because the Lakers are also a strong team.

So far, we are witnessing what seems like a blowout game in favor of the Nuggets. If they manage to maintain a lead of at least 20 points, I would confidently say that game 1 belongs to the home team. Lakers fans, including my friends on social media, seem relatively silent at the moment.
It was a one-sided game.

Although the ending score was just close to each other and Nuggets won by 6 points lead. The entirety of the game from all of the quarters, we have seen how dominating the Nuggets are.

Ham should have been aggressive even before the first and second quarters. He's just let Davis be on the bench when Jokic wasn't inside the ring. Well, for them this is an experience and it's possible that they won't let the 2nd game be still for the Nuggets.

Perhaps the Lakers are just overrated.
Not really. They also did well but it was just that Nuggets was on a quick play and the Lakers have to adopt with that.

It's pretty much over.  Lakers have no answer they will need a day off to adjust.  I mean it's jokic but the Lakers guard play has no answer for Murray and Bruce brown.  Reaves is a decent player but he is punching above the belt here.  And they need to figure out how they can stop jokic without running AD down.  This gonna be a tough matchup for the lakers.

Well, they had an adjustments made in 4th quarter where they were able to manage to put the lead down to just 3. It was just late when they figure out how to defend Jokic. But that game was really meant for Denver to win it as the Lakers will have no answer in 3 quarters, especially in the 3rd quarter where the Nuggets shot exceptionally well that they don't even know how to miss. But that Lakers comeback was a blueprint in game 2 - so yeah this is going to be a tough series not only for the Lakers but for both team. This might going to be a long series.

Perhaps the Lakers are just overrated.

I'm not even sure what did you mean by overrated when the Lakers were always the underdog LOL!

It's quite a sunny day.
I won the bet from the recently concluded Nuggets vs Lakers game 132 - 126 points and it was a pretty decent Nuggets win.
What I expected actually happened and from this win the Nuggets can prove that they are the top seeded team from the west which cannot be taken lightly.
I'm sure most here will also get this victory.

Perhaps the Lakers are just overrated. The style of play the Nuggets are exhibiting is quite similar to that of the Boston Celtics, with excellent ball movement. However, the Nuggets possess an added threat as Jokic can dominate in the paint, and they have several skilled 3-point shooters who are confident in their shooting abilities.

Honestly, I believe this series may not even reach Game 5. It's possible that the Nuggets could win in 6 games at most, or even potentially sweep the series 4-0.

Lol!

The Nuggets are good but you can't say the Lakers are overrated. They can play nice basketball. In fact, it can even be said that they're underrated right now. Look at the odds of this game. Denver is somewhere at 1.50 but the game has only a 3-point different less than two minutes into it. The Lakers could have taken this game away. Also if I can remember it right, the Lakers had almost a 3.0 odds against the Warriors in the series.

A 4-0 is simply impossible. I could give you better odds for that if you will make a bet.

Fortunately, Jokic missed one of the FT, so it didn't covered the initial handicap for bettors at -6.5 as the score is 132-126.

That was the reason why the Nuggets' spread bet didn't win. I would jokingly guess that maybe Jokic bet against his team, LOL.

Nevertheless, if you are simply a pure fan, you would have certainly enjoyed the game. It was a dominant performance by the Nuggets in the first half, but the Lakers are a team that knows how to come back. Overall, it was an entertaining game.

Nah, I wouldn't go that far. Nuggets surely are strong at home but once the series has shifted to LK we might see a totally different game.
Of course I think the Nuggets will advance but it won't be as easy as it looks today. Game is also not over yet, 12 points in 6 minutes are an ok lead but nothing to feel safe.

Jokic once again is a beast today with a big time triple double. This man is something special!

The Lakers though are playing a solid second half, they just slept at the beginning.
If they get together a solid start as well we would have seen a different game today.

Edit: 2min later it's a 1 possession game.  Grin

Yeah, Jokic went on a beast mode again, but there are some critical errors for him in the last 3 minutes, his shot was block and then his pass was intercepted. Good thing is that they have built a comfortable lead early and Lakers trying to make a comeback but it's hard when you have Jokic and Murray playing like that.

In any case, Lakers already see how the game is, and I expect them to make some adjustments. They put Rui against Jokic and that is not effective. Although hey also have Murray on James which brought Murray 5 fouls in the game. They should have Gordon on those critical stretch, and then their missed FT.

Blame Bruce Brown, he should have taken the lay up to put the lead into 7 points to cover the spread,  Smiley. But he just passed it to Jokic, and then the Lakers foul him, hitting 1 out of 2.

That will do it, the Nuggets survived a scare because they lead 20+ points in the 4th quarter, but the Lakers make a huge comeback in the last 5 minutes of the game.

But they just fell short though, Reaves has back to back 3's, but there is a critical steal by Murray from James.

Fortunately, Jokic missed one of the FT, so it didn't covered the initial handicap for bettors at -6.5 as the score is 132-126.

Jokic, another triple double, while AD has double double.
