How about Paul George awkward landing causing injuries?

It is being evaluated but it seems that he will be out for at least a month now? It could affect the chances of Clippers in the playoffs now, as he and Kawhi as the anchor of the Clippers and it's hard to see him with that kind of injuries in the knees since we all know that he had history already.  Still very close down the stretch for the teams in the West bundled up in the 6th-12th spot. A couple of losses should spell the difference between making the playoff and being in the play-in. Although Norman Powell is set to come back, but still though, missing Paul George is going to be tough for the Clippers.

The bad thing? They broke it against a team who is now eliminated this season. I mean if you're fan of the Warriors like me, you will not be impressed that they won against a bottom seeded team. Well, a win is a win nevertheless, and it's more frustrating if they lose yet again on the road, and against a tanking team like the Rockets.
Most probably, they are already aware of that fact and this win is not something that they should be proud about but the thing is, a win is a win and what happened on the game earlier is still a good thing to the whole team. Even if it's not against a heavy team, the game earlier was somehow important to lift the team's morale as they are already under the impression that they're really cursed on their road games.

Yeah, I do agree, no matter who they are facing, it's a must win for them and so with this, they are back in the winning column. Although I'm not that confident on how far the Warriors are going to be this season, they are not built as last year.
Indeed, The Warriors are really showing some signs of weakness and the opposing teams will surely take advantage of it as soon as they figure what it is. Hopefully, it's just the regular Warriors who are not taking the regular games seriously and their spot in the conference won't matter as long as they can play in the playoffs. But I guess we'll see about that.

Later this day, the Warriors are having another games on the road and will be tested again by the Dallas Mavericks. Not yet sure though if Luka and Kyrie will play as they are currenlty listed questionable as well as Morris and Hardaway Jr.

Quote
And with the Grizzlies winning and Kings losing, Memphis now separated from the tie with them, so now they are occupying the second spot behind Denver Nuggets.
Quite impressive for the Grizzlies because it has been expected that they will be having some struggles because Ja Morant is not yet playing and there's no Adams as well to support the team inside the paint. But the Grizzlies showed that they are not that weak even without Morant and even replaced the Kings in the 2nd place.

I still do not understand this childish request of AD not wanting to play the Center position. In todays game there are only a few nba bigs that could be better than him at center position, embiid and jokic comes to mind but aside from them AD could go against anyone and could be better than them as well.

We are getting smaller and most teams have players that are smaller than AD and he still doesn't want to play that position. He doesn't need to be a traditional big men, look at Jokic, dude passes more than he shoots sometimes, or he doesn't have to be just inside, look at Brook Lopez, dude waits for threes on offense, he can be any type of Center he likes.

Austin Reaves got an almost $2.5M contract for 2 years and based on rumors, it's likely that he'll get a contract extension for 4 years with a whopping $50M. Hopefully, this boy gets it.
While for the other player's news, Dillon Brooks. He's automatically suspended because of his 18th technical foul.
Article: Grizzlies' Dillon Brooks facing another automatic suspension after getting 18th technical for taunting Mavs
Yeah, I hope Austin Reaves will get it. He is working harder every game so this should be worth his efforts.
His camp is also giving a signal that they'll just re-sign with the Lakers and stays on the team. His efforts surely is being seen and valued but for sure that many teams are gonna offer him more just to get him.

About Dillon Brooks, that guy ain't that yet with suspensions. He will get more I am sure about that. As long as that mouth of him doesn't stop more technical fouls will come.
In their recent game against the Warriors, I tried to just watch him, but all he did was talk and talk nonstop to anyone on the Warriors' roster.
I'd do this kind of thing when I have something to boast about already. Dude, don't even have a championship yet, and not even the number 2 of the Grizzlies. It's still Desmond Bane and Jackson who are better than him. Not that I hate him, I like the competitive spirit but put it in the scoreboard first, or better a banner in your homecourt.
There are players like him that have forgotten to step on the floor while he thinks that he's in the air flying high. Wishing him to humble himself with all of these issues that he's got in. And from what I've seen in some posts, it's more than around $250k that he's paid just for his fine and that's a lot of money.

Later on, the Lakers will face the Suns on their own homecourt at LA and they might be having a slight advantage because Deandre Ayton won't be joining the team for the said game as well as Kevin Durant, as well know that he's not yet fit to play the games. But, the Lakers should be sure and play it safe because they needed this win to lift their team from the current standing which is #11 and a win in this game will definitely put the team at the #7 or #8 spot.

There are only 10 games left until the end of the regular season. So if the Lakers really want to make the playoffs, they will need a win in every upcoming game. The problem is the Lakers haven't won the Suns in 6 straight meetings, including 2 meetings this season. So tonight's game won't be easy for the Lakers, and I'm not even sure they can beat them because the Suns are a tough opponent even without Ayton and Durant.

They’re only 1/2 a game back from being in the play-in tournament. They’ve also won 6 of their last 10, so I think they can easily make the play-in tournament unless they have a serious breakdown. Their problem is the Pelicans are also 1/2 a game back so it’s a crowded race for that play-in tournament at this point. Still, I think I’d the Lakers win half their remaining games they’ll make the play-in.

Edit: With Zion now expected to be healthy for the playoffs, you can expect the Pelicans to make a push here...

It's probably over for Lakers. If you look at the fixture you'll know they can't win most of these remaining games. In fact I'll be surprised if they get 4 wins in these 9 games. Only Rockets game look easy on paper. All other games are pretty hard or even for them. If Bron was back there could be some hope but in the current situation we can say that they have no chance.
For some reason, Lakers is talked about much more than other teams and the game they play in return is mediocre to say the least.

I am sorry but if your hopes are for Tristan Thompson to come out of retirement and bring you back to playoff level somehow, not even playoff level but first to play-in level, then I am sorry but that's not going to be something that is looking good for the team. At some point maybe you should know when to throw in the towel. The moment lebron went down and was out, it was instantly obvious that they are gone and won't be anything this year. They haven't been good in a while and that Westbrook trade was the main reason for it. Just accept the faith and face the fact that they will have to rebuild again, without lebron or AD, they will have to figure out how to get draft picks since they have none, and basically just hope for the best.

I can't believe how well the Jazz played. They beat the Kings, who are a good team. This team is so underrated. I believe it's their system that makes them better, because even without their best players, they can still win a game, and the team they beat is one of the best this season.

This is the same team who will gonna jeopardize the chance of the top 9 and 10 if they are gonna win most of their games because they are not too far to include from the play-in tournament. with this win, they even get to the number 10 spot and send the Lakers behind them, if the Lakers will continue to struggle, then their chance to push their way to the NBA playoffs will be no more and the Jazz will have the chance to gamble their way to the playoffs. with this kind of scenario, I'm sure it will not be easy for rank numbers 7 and 8 to get to the playoffs if ever the Utah Jazz is included in the play-in tournament.

They have a chance because they are in the top 10 now, so anything can happen, including the Lakers losing their chance in the play-in tournament. I like the Jazz because they are not under as much pressure compared to the Lakers, who have high expectations from the crowd because they have Lebron and Davis. The Jazz are composed of young guns who are not even all-stars, except for Markkanen, but it was his first time to be an all-star.

Every game matters for the teams who are behind, so we can expect that they'll play hard just to get that playoff chance.

Every game matter as the season is nearly to next round and you are right Jazz was expected not to be a contender
because of those trades that send their cores stars to other teams.

But by looking with them they are still trying to make it to the play-in or if they will continue winning might be possible
to move up to the playoffs.

The outcome of those remaining games will decide the fate of the team we are currently trying to stay.

Well, we cannot really blame them if they are still clinging to the chance that they might participate in the Play-in or if they are that lucky enough, they can manage to get themselves into the playoffs but that's it. We're not underestimating the Jazz but the truth is, even if they can play in the playoffs, they cannot reach far enough because experience will be so vital in intense games like playoffs and they don't have that. What they need is to acquire it by playing the said games with high level lof intensity, so that in the next season, the team will be a much more dangerous.

I just read that Tristan Thompson has a work out with the Lakers this week. I guess he wasn’t kidding when he was talking about getting the band back together. It’s nice to see that he didn’t let Kyrie joining Dallas stop him from trying to join LeBron for another ring chase. I’m not sure if he can still play at a championship level but I think he’d be a good pickup at the price.

As far as I know, Thompson hasn't played in the league for a year now, and his stats last season were pretty mediocre, as he averaged just 6 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. In other words, I wouldn't expect the Lakers to offer him a contract after this workout, as he's unlikely to be useful for them on the court. Besides, they already have Davis and a few other big guys who play the same position as Thompson.

Yeah but this is right in the Lakers playback.  They always do this and offers dudes like this a contract lol.  It's last second sc4ambling and hoping a prayer is answered.  Even if he was still decent this won't move the needle for them.  Gotta give it to them they never stop trying these reclamation projects though.

But the Lakers should know that this kind of gamble is much more risky than the advantage it can get, we all know that the Lakers doctor is already prohibiting Davis to play a back-to-back game but that's still situational as there as some games that they badly need his help but getting someone who is not that reliable will be a liability to the team.

A great night of basketball ahead of us as TNT has two great games being nationally televised tonight. First, it’s the Warriors vs the Mavericks then the late game is between the Lakers and the Suns. A shame LeBron and KD will both be out. That would have been a game for the ages. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait for a possible playoff matchup if we want to see that.
Two good encounters. Too bad there wasn't Lebron James in the Suns - Lakers game. The lack of Lebron will make it harder for him to make it to the playoffs. The Lakers are not lucky this season. Glad to hear again that James won't be having surgery. If the team can make it to the playoffs, James will come back, maybe he will return earlier, there is uncertainty at the moment.

Thompson can help Lakers as a back up bigman since he can make Davis and Bamba rest on early part of the game so that they can maximize their performance until 4th quarter of the game. He might be an effective addition since he has a experience to work with LBJ so maybe they will not get a problem for adding him in a rooster. Although his performance decline but he can be a good contributor on defensive side so maybe this is what Lakers want to him if he is officially signed a contract with them.

I think Thompson is going to be hired because Mo is injured if I'm not mistaken. Maybe it's a good addition or maybe not, we are not sure of that yet and since Thompson is out in the NBA it might need for him to get back in shape in a hurry if Lakers are going to take him at least for their run, whether they can get to the playoffs or not. And the Lakers just needed a big guy right now, not to score or be on a offensive, although it could be a plus for them if he can put good numbers. But it's more of the defensive side and grabbing that very important rebounds for the Lakers to anchor their offense.

My hopes for the Lakers in making the playoffs are going back and forth lol. Now that they'll need to maximize the use of AD on the court, because they are now lacking big men, there will be a huge possiblity that AD will going to be injured again. Now, if they can make it to the playoffs and everyone in the roster is injured, then everything they worked hard for the season will gonna go to waste.
Well, they could run it back again next season or they will going to ruin it again by rebuilding the roster.

Yeah! of all of the teams in the NBA today, they are the ones that have lots of fans wanting them to get at least at the play-in tournament and to be in the playoffs and it seems like they are getting a hard time doing that because in their next game against the Phoenix Suns, they are more likely the underdog and they really need to prove something in that game because once they easily lose that game, that would be a scene to tell them that getting to the playoffs will not be a good experience because once again they will get swept by the Suns just like last time.
They are just a slight underdog against the Phoenix Suns in their next game, and they are playing at home, which makes them comfortable. So it's a good match between AD and Ayton, and on the wing Booker maybe against D'Lo or maybe Vanderbilt.

But Reaves could be the big difference for the Lakers in this game. I mean he is putting numbers and he is now a superstar in Los Angeles and maybe surpasses the original white Mamba in Caruso.

The Lakers back is against the wall right now, they need to find a big man that will help Davis, Mo is injured if I'm not mistaken and there are no timeline for his return. Gabriel is too small to play the center and we all know that Bryant left already, but I guess it is a bad decision for him as he was not effective with the Dallas team. In any case for the Lakers, and even if Thompson hasn't play for a year, if they think that he will be a good fit as of this season or if they go to the playoff, then it will be a good acquisition for them.

I think they really need Lebron right now, I mean he is injured, but once he got back in the roster it will be a different Lakers and could survived the season with a playoff run. AD is really fragile at this point, and it's scary to think that even if he is just going for the rebound he can get injured. True, they need a big man right now so maybe former Cavs Thompson might be a good addition for their roster. And who knows, he could be the big man that they needed to complement Davis in helping him in the middle. Because if they are going to small, there are teams that are going to take advantage of it by having their center obviously go one on one or just a simply entry pass for him in the middle.

I hope that LeBron will return soon since the Lakers only have a few games left. If they fail to qualify for the play-in, it would be a missed opportunity for them, and they would have to start again next season. Injuries have played a huge factor this season, with Davis now healthy but LeBron still injured. It seems luck has not been on their side since winning the championship during the pandemic.

Although even though they got a bad start this season there's good thing happen since they find a good rooster in the middle of the season so maybe this is what they need to maximize to get a more better output next season opener.

If Davis is not traded, there is a guarantee, but they should not wait for next season. They still have a chance to qualify for the playoffs this season, as it is not over for them yet. As long as they make it to the play-in, I am confident that they have a high chance of making it to the playoffs.

It's crazy to see that wven with a record below 500 they still have a chance to go as high as 4th place , with only 10 games to play.

That shows how weak the western conference is compared to the east, even though a lot of big stars moved to the west.

Minnesota now struggling with even more injuries might also be the chance for the Lakers to move into the playins.

Lakers have 5 home and away games to go, some over them are doable, others might get tricky (Suns twice and the clippers) . 4 of those games are crucial as they are against direct opponents that fight for the 7th-10th spot. ( Jazz twice, OKC at home and @ Twolfes ).

Lets see if they can get a winning run together.

Still possible for them as the chance still opens and with the chemistry now with the entire team, they can make it and push their way to play-inn and even pushing for more for the playoffs.

It's just for the coach to balance and maximize Davis if he will let him play to help the team, no assurance but
more on a risk for Davis, but if the coach will make a good rotation to help him, that's much better.

There is a possibility that LeBron may return soon, as per the latest update that he will be returning this season, although the exact date is not specified. The Lakers are still winning games even without LeBron, but I doubt that they will advance past the second round of the playoffs with him. Therefore, their immediate goal is to qualify for the play-in and win
