You are welcome back xtraelv, as i see your rank it is clear you are a good member that have contribute much to this forum, I like what you posted about what has happened this year about bitcoin, but I will like to add.

2. Former P&O Cruise Ship now named 'Satoshi'. Bitcoin and the name of satoshi was clearly pasted on the ship

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--5282030

3. Bitcoin's realized cap now $43 billion above 2017 all-time high
https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-s-realized-cap-is-now-43-billion-above-the-2017-all-time-high/amp

There are many more but these few is enough from my side. Let us just know bitcoin is the currency of the future.

Well I guess you've missed the recent issue whereas the Chipmixer Campaign opened a spot in which some opened up their opinions while some insists that people are just wasting their time. Better read CMixer's recent replies and you'll see how crazy the pandemic made us. LOL. I've tried joining it (TRIED) yet I don't know why some users calls those applicants like "the users that wouldn't be accepted". Is it really an issue if a user aren't that capable enough to fulfill DarkStar_ 's standards? Rofl. I also couldn't understand why such gang matters in this forum. I've been here for years but I never fought anyone and rather respect their decisions. Yes, gangs can be powerful. But damn, looking at the bright side, those gangs contributed a lot in this forum, regardless of what signature they are wearing.

Also, I guess you've missed the time when Polar91 was caught having multiple (I mean really MULTIPLE to atleast more than you can imagine) accounts by Bitcoin_Arena. See it for yourself. (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.54171866)

Crazy year for bitcointalk, right?  Grin

Slava Ukraini!
Welcome back! Well, 2020 is probably the most crazy year in our life so far. But here on Bitcointalk, this year looks boring for me. Nothing extraordinary didn't happened. Just don't know it's good or bad thing.
We lost Bruno this year, it's huge loss for Bitcointalk. But death is inevitable thing and we all are going to die one day...
And as others said above, cryptohunter haven't disappeared actually. Yes, his main account is inactive for a while already, but he used multiple alt accounts later. They pretend that they aren't cryptohunter, but it's more than obvious.
I'm happy that you are back and OK. I've been following your activity on Twitter, no need to say but you are one of the best content writers on the forum I've seen so far, and of course my favorite.
Could you share his Twitter? Smiley

Hey xtraelv!  I was actually wondering where you'd disappeared to the other day, as I hadn't seen you posting for quite some time but had come across a thread you'd posted in a while back....anyway, glad you're healthy and are getting along in this new and crazy world we all live in now.

Cryptohunter disappeared.
Yeah, that one is definitely not true.  The cryptohunter account hasn't been active, but he's been creating alt accounts to keep his insane rants going.  There was a quiet period that lasted at least two months (IIRC) in which there were no drama threads being created in Reputation or Meta--and then, all of a sudden, he started back up again.

The price of bitcoin might be higher than the last time you were on the forum, though I don't have a good memory for times and prices and don't know exactly when your hiatus began.  With all the other crazy shit that's been happening, at least bitcoin's doing well.

I have lurked a bit over time so while my regular posts were absent I have tried to keep up with the things that were going on. Just missed the details.

The misinformation about CH I gleaned from here:

4. TOAA (cryptohunter) Gang - a 1-man-army led by cryptohunter who courageously fought since ancient times against almost all the other gangs mentioned here, looking for a chunk of their pie. Driven by The Dark Side of the Force, he managed to fight for years, although he suffered a lot from a serious and incurable mental disease. Being overwhelmed, he disguised himself since 2019 as The-One-Above-All, maliciously called as The-Ass-Above-All, but the dexterous supreme leader of the Mods Gang exposed him. After suffering severe injuries, he fled the battlefield in January 2020, after almost 7 years of ferocious fights. Also known for deep self-respect, as he used manorial plural when he was talking about himself, saying "we" instead of "I". Allegedly, as the supreme leader of the Merit Cycling Club suspects (among many others), the great fighter returned once again inside the arena, as truth or dare. In case this will be proven, I'll move this gang in the upper sections, among the most reputable gangs.

Bitcoin has been seeing a bit of a surge but for the last few years I have come to the realization that I'm a better Hodler than trader. Unless I desperately need it - it can stay put in the cold wallets.

Oh. I have another good points for you:

1- Kucoin hack - $ 250 + mln  stolen (third biggest crypto hack). After few days Kucoin CEO claims that they recovered $200 mln!
https://news.bitcoin.com/kucoin-ceo-says-exchange-hack-suspects-found-204-million-recovered/

2- Bitmex CEO in jail.

Bitmex don't give a f..

“We strongly disagree with the U.S. government’s heavy-handed decision to bring these charges, and intend to defend the allegations vigorously. From our early days as a start-up, we have always sought to comply with applicable U.S. laws, as those laws were understood at the time and based on available guidance.
In the meantime, the BitMEX platform is operating entirely as normal and all funds are safe. To allay any potential customer concerns, pending withdrawal requests were processed at 17:45 UTC, in line with our standard procedures."

I've been intermittently absent from this forum for some time this year. Partly due to the crazy stuff this year has brought.

Discovered I suddenly have a nut allergy (Not metaphorically).  Which has resulted in interesting trips to the ER.
There results usually are funny but concerning rapid swelling of my face and limbs - until we pinned down the cause.
You'd be surprised how many products contain nut products. i.e. laundry detergent, soap and foods.

I traveled extensively internationally just before the world lockdown. Now I'm locked in my own country as there are few flights out.

Suddenly found my skills were in demand as an essential service in an industry I've never worked in before.

Cryptohunter disappeared.
Welcome back buddy and nice to hear that you have recovered from the nut allergy .
Guess it was a pain to find that out whats going on.

Well Cryptohunter not really disappeared . He is just scared about that his Account possible get banned when he show up with this one.
But dont worry he is posting with his Alt Accounts.

Found out I like twitter. So I have become a regular twit.

It would be nice to compile a list of crazy things that happened to bitcoin and bitcointalk this year:

Bitcoin and Crypto already have a tendency to be crazier than fiction.

Covid-19, Corona virus, China Virus, Company killer.... it has many names. Many opinions about it and many conspiracy theories about its origin (man made versus man ate bat)
It has us all locked down to a certain extend. Some countries more than others. Where I am it is fortunately almost back to normal except for the free hand sanitizer everywhere. (Why didn't we have that before for all the other yucky germs)

John McAfee (McShill) backed out of the dickening* and got arrested in Spain awaiting extradition for Tax evasion and on SEC charges.

Dickening countdown timer

Craig Steven Wright lawsuit "reveals" that according to Craig he was working with an MI5 agent and the NSA, a jawbreaker mercenary, cheated on his wife, has Autism, got hacked more times than anyone, is a world leading IT security professional, had to pay millions in penalties to the Australian Tax office resulting in his companies being place into liquidation, was shot twice in South America and is a trained ninja,
link to case

Craig reveals a list of bitcoin addresses he claims to own (which was delivered by his "bonded courier" that turned out not to be a bonded courier - via his wife)  of which 144 of them promptly signed a message stating "Craig Steven Wright is a liar and a fraud. He doesn't have the keys used to sign this message. The Lightning Network is a significant achievement. However, we need to continue work on improving on-chain capacity. Unfortunately, the solution is not to just change a constant in the code or to allow powerful participants to force out others. We are all Satoshi."

We would have thought to see the trial this year but instead it was postponed till 2021

Meantime the defamation trials score as follows:
Craig Wright 0 V Hodlonaut 2
Craig Wright  0 V Roger Ver 2 2019 2020
Craig Wight 0 V Adam Back 1 (Craig pulled out and paid  $8,400 to Adam)
Craig Wright 0 V McCormack 0

DEFI (Do I need to say more) https://defirate.com/hacks/

Tether. Bitfinex, Bittrex and Poloniex market manipulation lawsuit.
