Aha, I noticed that you mentioned Wikipedia. But, Almost all Arabs and some Asians know about this. When I was a kid, I read this story in a book. This is a good old story. My grandparents used to tell us those stories before sleep. So, I am familiar with the name Alibaba. But, Right after, I see this is a company name. My First impression was; Is it that guy's company? Sorry for the Off-topic. A brings B, and B gets C. LOL

Lol guys, thank you all for the interest, the comments and the merits.

First, I know the thread is old, and I had a practice to bump it with some posts deserving more merit, but that was before.
I thinking to make a new list with 10 posts deserving more merit but again it will take some time Wink

Second, back in the day I was able to sustain quite good "merit income" (was in top 25 merit receivers) and that's why some people thought that I was a merit source too, but hey my life changed a lot the last few years that I could probably write a novel or make a movie about it and many people won't believe it's true.
I just realize one thing, when life gives you a lemon, the bastard does not give a one lemon, it brings a shopping car full of lemons and keep on giving them slowly one by one ... anyway... life is beautiful and we are still alive so we should celebrate it Smiley

Third,
I'm sure I have my bearded baby avatar way before it was (cool) advertised by a poor woodcutter who secretly watches as 40 thieves hide their booty in a cave.*

Good advice, I agree with your opinion. It is clear that quality posts are not only published by high rank. In fact I can find some newbie also have more knowledge than me on certain topics that I am not good at. Now I will start getting them to update the thread.

TheBeardedBaby, sorry for some of the questions and responses in your thread. Hope you are fine.

Again, this is my advice, and I could be (once again) completely wrong.  I don’t want to dictate anything to anyone.
Oh no, good advice considered, but maybe not all for everyone.
I don't think spammers want to take advice to stop spamming. That's all, hahaha.

I see TheBeardedBaby join on November 07, 2017. If my memory is correct then I have seen this beard baby model long ago than he registered the forum 😂

You merit source application should then include 10 recent under merited posts, so that he who select the merits source has a proof you are able to find this category of posts.

In this case, Should TheBeardedBaby find out recent (new) posts and add them to OP every time he Bumps up the thread? I think, If those posts still didn't get merited, It's okay to keep them on the OP.

As for regular bump, I think it is ok to keep the same posts, even if those have been merited in the meantime.
Here we are bumping a two years old application, so maybe extra care is required.
Again, this is my advice, and I could be (once again) completely wrong.  I don’t want to dictate anything to anyone.

I really don't know why theymos haven't made you a merit source even though you've been applying since 2020.
When theymos added more people as merit source, I remember that TheBeardedBaby was so not active at the time, some weeks to that time, when I noticed TheBeardedBaby was very inactive, he was in bestchange at the time, I sent him pm which makes me remember this vividly, I was not surprise that theymos did not include him as a merit source. But if he is back, he is worth being made a merit source, I also wish him good luck, but theymos add no one as merit source since last year, I believe he would be added if he continue to be active on this forum.

TheBeardedBaby, I can hardly believe that you are not a merit source if I don't find this app thread. I really don't know why theymos haven't made you a merit source even though you've been applying since 2020. I guess 2 years is a long time to at least review your application and merit distribution history you've done so far, but either way theymos definitely has reason.  Wink

I support your application and I honestly hope you will become a merit source soon. TheBeardedBaby, best of luck to you.

Permission to comment all, lately I've started to pay attention to the forums and some of the existing threads.
This thread is serious enough for me to pay attention to, because it is directly related to the source of achievement.

I totally agree with several people, including @fillippone, @skarais, @KingsDen and @Daniel91, that there is no need to look at account ratings to select quality posters.

If I may give an example, the Rank of Beginner, Member and Full Member accounts will usually always make quality posts, be it suggestions, input and support for the forum. ( Excluding those chasing weekly posts ("Ignore") )

I believe, that the source of benefit (Merit) cannot reach everyone, that's why Merit can be awarded by anyone for quality posters and contributors. I really support the good work done by @TheBeardedBaby, because it's quite helpful for a lot of people

Actually I really want to get more good posts from users under Legendary to include in the latest update in my merit source app, so you think that's a good idea? Or do I have to get more good posts of Legendary rank for that?
I think a quality post regardless of what the rank is. It doesn't matter even if the poster is newbie or Legendary because basically it's not rank that determines quality, but knowledge and ability.

I agree with you. Not all newbies are really newbies, some of them may have a lot of experience in crypto, much more than many legendary members.
When I review forum posts and look for quality posts that deserve merit, I focus exclusively on the content of the post itself and everything else, including forum rank, is less important.
I believe that TheBeardedBaby deserves to become a merit source, based on his contribution to this forum, and I support his application, although I believe that he will have to wait a little longer for confirmation from theymos.

Bearing in mind that TheBeardedBaby is a high quality poster, what seems to me to be detrimental to his application is his irregular posting.

I see from his post history that he has frequent posting gaps of weeks. I don't know if in that time he doesn't post, he logs in, but it seems to me that theymos will want people who are regularly on the forum as a merit source.

In any case I wish you luck with your application,

To answer this one I agree with the two previous users, @Z-tight and @fillippon have answered it well. So now you can decide which one is best to include in your app. But as far as I know, nowadays you might find it a little harder to find quality posts that lack merit, that's because there are some merit sources and other users who are increasingly concerned with posts like this even though some posts actually deserve more. So, @TheBeardedBaby and @skarais, good luck to both of your apps and I express my support for you.

I am not answering for fillippone here but i feel the rank doesn't matter, and i know fillippone and other merit sources will say the same thing too, if you want to add new unmerited or under merited posts to your application, you should just choose the posts without looking at the rank of the member; if the post is great to you and you feel it needs more merit or hasn't gotten any, then you should add it. Needless to say that if you don't want to go through all that, you can simply bump your thread without new inclusions to remind theymos.

Username and rank shouldn’t matter, when evaluating a post. The only measure is effort, according to Theymos.
This means you are not required to agree with the content of the merit (even if I find it difficult to merit post I competely disagree with.

You merit source application should then include 10 recent under merited posts, so that he who select the merits source has a proof you are able to find this category of posts.

Goodnight, o_e_l_e_o 🌹
I didn't  know  TheBeardedBaby isn't a merit source. If I'm to mention merits sources I would include the OP. Not because he hands out merits, but because the name is a regular contributor to the forum. There's no doubt that if theymos wishes to add more merits sources, you will be among.

Actually I really want to get more good posts from users under Legendary to include in the latest update in my merit source app, so you think that's a good idea? Or do I have to get more good posts of Legendary rank for that?
The emphasis is quality posts whether by legendary members or lower. But for the sake of your application and in connection with the purpose of introducing merits, it would be more nice to go for lower-ranked members.

I think it would be “fair” to renew the thread with a new series of under merited posts.
New application, new posts.
Personally, I haven't updated a series of under merited posts in my merit source app thread. Maybe that's good advice for me too at the moment, so I'll get some some good quality posts that lack merit for updating the thread later.

Wow  Shocked Shocked  you are not a merit source yet? I don't know why you were not selected but if it helps I support your application as a merit source and believe you have enough experience to find high quality posts.
I hope that you will be selected soon, and thank you for the efforts you have made for the forum.

Yeah I tossed him some points as I thought he was a source.

He certainly has given us many good posts.

@ tbb

I have been very busy from July 31 2021 to Aug 5 2022.

I finally have been able to really give some merits out this month.

I hope you get a source. Thus giving you more merits.

Thank you guys for the support.  I waited an year after I posted my application and then I just decided to give up on the idea,   my life changed so I couldn't spend more time here and that's why I closed the application.
Things are back to as normal as it can be for the moment and I will be happy to join the Merit sources gang.

I've been exhausting my earned merit every time.
I got some lately and I'm fine for now but not for long.
