That's it guys, it's a wrap! What a year. Tough competition and an emotional roller coaster. This sport is becoming huge with every tournament so it's just a matter of time when crypto gambling sites start getting in on it. As always, we are here to push it by talking about it. Here are the final results.

1   T. Stoltman    GBR   45.5
2   B. Shaw            USA   42.5
3   M. Boudreault    CAN   36.5
4   T. Mitchell            USA   35
5   J. Caron            CAN   34
6   K. Janashia    GEO   32.5
7   L. Stoltman    GBR   32
8   A. Bishop            GBR   27
9   B. Thompson    USA   23.5
10   E. Ingólfsson Melsted    ISL   20.5
Didn't expect that the American and British Strongmen are the ones that's going to dominate the leaderboard, I have been expecting the Russian and Scandinavian to be the ones that will push through the finals, seems that I was proven wrong.

New standings after day 1 of the finals. This is a tough year but we might see both Stoltmans on the podium. With a focused Tom Stoltman, I don't see Brian Shaw as winning for the fifth time, but it's still anyone's game. J.F. Carron might be out due to injury, or at least not at his best.

Will there be crypto sportsbooks that will list the matches on this event?

It seems, it is more on fiat-based casinos - https://www.gamblingsites.com/entertainment-betting/worlds-strongest-man/. Better if we can see some top bookies here to list some of the matches from this event.
I think that local country that this event is held have a chance to bet just like in my country where I can bet boxing matches which the fighters are youtube vloggers having a conflict and those who want to bet can go to the site. I wonder if some of their platform accept foreign country to bet.

Eddie actually droped out of strongman competitions a while back and he is doing more commentary and presentation work for WSM and WUS.
That's pretty bad but an understandable reason of quitting, I mean if I was in his position and I was given a choice to commentate and competing, I would go with commentating since you don't need to break some sweat in commentary.

The man had so much ware and tare on his body, it was time to let go and do something else (Commentary, boxing, YT channel...)

Idk but it doesn’t feel right to not see Hafthor’s name on the list of competitors for the strongman. I’m not exactly sure what happened and why was he not included in the list. But anyways, wishing Novikov and Melsted to qualify. They aren’t just strong or big men, but as far as I’m aware they aren’t assholes to anyone so it’s a plus for me. The rest I don’t know about so I can’t say a thing or two to them.

These types of events are unfortunately not that popular on crypto sportsbooks, so it will be extremely hard to see these lines being offered.

Yeah, he was still in his prime, but he did so much in the sport, sometimes you have to take care of your health. There are a bunch of others still competing so no worries.

Here is a quick update on who got into the finals. The big surprise is that last year's WSM winner Novikov did not get into the final ten.

Check out the official daily thread on Reddit for the coverage as there are no videos out. https://www.reddit.com/r/Strongman/comments/o12f7r/2021_wsm_qualifying_round_day_2_megathread/

Also in the thread, you will find a spreadsheet with event results so if anyone is interested, those are some relevant sources as well as BigLoz and MattRhodesSports on youtube. It's a spicy year with the WSM organization again screwing things up. Leave it up to them to their worst.

Looking forward to this competition because I do find it awesome that people are constantly competing as to who is the strongest in terms of strength, this kind of thing should be more prevalent not just in betting circle but to the mainstream ones because I feel like the new generation including is getting weaker.

I wish they could add it with online betting.
I am not a huge fan but I watched some of the events.

Eddie Hall was one of the famous personalities from 2012 until he reached success in 2017. Sadly, he didn't defend his title in 2018 but he did participate in BSM and won it. There must be some way to gain fans and viewers for this competition, especially in this pandemic.
The PR trashtalk didn't work either.

He won because there was no one else there to take it. His title is not as well earned as my title, that’s how I feel.
Using social media could be helpful.

Good point. Strongman competitors are not gaining any traction by trash-talking as they are all generally on good terms with one another. The only thing that Hall's initial trash talk helped is their upcoming match. I have been watching the sport for some years now and trash-talking just does not fit in it and will not result in anything. What has helped only in the last couple of years is the YT presence of strongman that has been increasing, and also numerous fitness (and here I mean strength-oriented weightlifting etc) personalities getting into strongman training as well as Rob Kerney and Rob Oberst being on the JRE

This sports is actually well known and it doesn't need to attract more viewers or a virtual audience because it's all over the internet
some users said it was not famous or maybe they are only not aware that this sport exist but by its name "strongest man " its easy to understand what kind of sports is this but they can keep up with the promotion for some people to be aware of this sports .

Quote
but it would be more interesting if they would make it a bit entertaining because some parts of it have lots of dead air or boring moments. Crypto sportsbooks should also consider this.
there will be boring moments if you watch it live but if its recorded , they should edit and foccus in the main game only .

Some changes to the event

Hicks is out from group 1 due to injury so Ervin Toots will be his replacement, but he will be in group 5 and Gav Bitton is going to group 1.

I'm not familiar with some names on the list and I guess some of them are quite new in the industry. This sports is actually well known and it doesn't need to attract more viewers or a virtual audience because it's all over the internet but it would be more interesting if they would make it a bit entertaining because some parts of it have lots of dead air or boring moments. Crypto sportsbooks should also consider this.

The problem with WSM is the crazy TV scheduling idea they have. They televise the even a few months after it and I think it loses a bit of the charm. Hope they change it up a bit but for now no cigar on that. Rogue or Arnold Pro has a great thing going with YT and they get to a much bigger audience.

It doesn't look like that famous tbh. I've seen a few clips here and there, but that's about it. I was intrigued back then though, which is why I watched a few more clips but then left it alone since it kind of bored me out after 10-12 clips. Maybe if the audience gets a bit more bigger, crypto sportsbook would add it officially, but now? Nah. Not to mention that it still needs to guarantee that everything is fair and whatnot so that bets made wouldn't be influenced by anything except the players, in this case, their strength.

The market is not that big why it is understandable that crypto bookies will not be interested at the moment. But if in the future, one name from this sports will make big noise and attract media attention and possible bettors, they may list this event. For now, I believe, it is more on fiat-sportsbooks that will have this event. Just like many other sports, like in boxing, if the fight is not that big, they won't list it.

For people who adore power, that site will give them more information knowing who is the strongest person in the world and maybe they will search for the site to place their bet. But for common people, they will not have much interest in that and will not think much about that. Maybe they can place a bet for that player but they will back to their favorite gambling games. We will see many new sports in this pandemic because people hunger to find the thing that can give them entertainment.

But sports like this hardly attract fans since it has no betting format and isn't popular like many other sporting activity. For 2021 tournament what should we be expecting and would color be added to the event so as to spice it up thereby attracting more veiwers from all over the world. The fun of sports is in it's fans. With much fans the tournament would generate more funds and also have well structured gambling  platform for betting

so by talking about it we are moving one step forward to having it listed.

Crypto bookies will automatically list an event without relying on talks or requests here as long as it has a good market.

Looks like you have an idea about this as a sharer here. Do you think the event is popular globally? No right answer here. Just a quick view of your opinion on how you look at the event since I see you have knowledge about this.

I don+t think the popularity of the sport, in general, is a problem, the problem is that it's not popular in the globally small community that is crypto, so that's why talking about it could spread the word. More strongmen are using their IG acc's and YT channels to promote themselves and the sport and in the last couple of years, it gained some serious recognisability, especially in the US.

Bjornsson has retired last year and is preparing for a boxing match with Eddie Hall as this is the thing that's bringing in money at the moment.
That's the reason I guess as to why Eddie Hall isn't in this competition too, their beef with each other seems to run really deep. I think that a lot of people will buy these tickets for their matches because you don't see strongmen duke it out in the ring and I think it's hilarious.

i was already seeing Hafthor Bjornsson to b part of this but he isn't among them.

Bjornsson has stopped competing as of last year.
