TNT continue their hot streak with another impressive win against the struggle black water.

No Jayson Castro, no problem, they were still able to dominate their opponent.

5 players got a double digit on TNT, that's how they share the ball very well, and I don't know if blackwater will have a chance in the bubble, they might be eliminated early with the way they play, there seems to be no improvement for this team.

@bisdak40 @agustina2

Calvin Abueva didn't play last night against the Brgy. Ginebra so we just have to wait if he will play tomorrow against Magnolia. Not even a glimpse of any information or update has been released yesterday.

Now hoping not this week (after I didn't nail it) so we can continue next week lol.

I think he will play in against Magnolia, the team are already in 2 losing streak, they need to win the next game.
Good luck on your betting guys, whoever wins, give me some "balato" lol..

The referee that got involved in a wrong officiating is one of the professional referees in the league with lots of experience.
The referee that also made a wrong call is also the same referee that also did the wrong call when Magnolia Hotshots and Rain or Shine fight in a Game 7 I think.
That is when Rome Dela Rosa did the 3 point shot but it is a shot clock violation and the referee still counted the basket.
Maybe I'm harsh but that is a wake up call for the referees because they are creating so much wrong calls for the past years. That one is the most obvious one though.

It's unfortunate that he did something wrong. I don't know what he's thinking at that time but that should serve him a lesson.

He might be regretted now on what he did as it will affect his career being a referee. Just hoping that incident will not be the reason to him not be hired again in the future, not just in PBA but for other basketball leagues as well.
When I saw what happened, the first thing that came to my mind is that they are being paid but after a second I knew that they aren't since they are professional referees at first place. Flops are being done to attract referees from whistling and on that part, they fell into the trap. I think that he will just be suspended for this season (I hope so) and he will come back probably next year depending on the situation.

Ginebra remained perfect in the bubble with 4-0 record tied with TNT Giga in the top spot after a dominant performance against the Phoenix Fuel Masters.

The way Phoenix played in that game against Ginebra, I don't know how can they be one of the contenders in the All-Filipino even Calvin Abueva will back. Lots of poor defense leads to several open shots for Ginebra. And if we look at stats, Ginebra also doesn't seem to play on their best but yet Phoenix struggles to them.

If they can't beat the poor performance of Ginebra, then they don't stand a chance to beat those top teams. Abueva can't lift this team by himself. Better luck next conference if they can able to acquire a good import.

Ginebra are playing great defense in all their games, this is the brand of the team while we also have to appreciate the Phoenix due to their good start in this conference, however, it's just that Ginebra are really one of the best team in the PBA and it's hard to beat them now especially that they have already Pringle who has the ability to score anytime if his team needs him.

They'll improve, and if Abueva will be back, i think that would be a big boost to the team in terms of defense and rebounding.

PBA is still ongoing, in fact we are witnessing a great game now between the Ginebra and Phoenix, I think that news is not true.
Let's just wait for the result if there is or none but at the moment, let's enjoy what the PBA has been offering us.

That referee tested negative on antigens, i've read that somewhere and it might be a case of false positive which i hope so much because if indeed this referee is positive of COVID-19 then this will ruin the PBA bubble. Anyways he was already isolated and be tested again, let's hope that it would turn out negative of the virus.

Currently watching a close game, Ginebra on the lead but Phoenix is still catching up.

I think that was not close one, Phoenix only lead in the few minutes of the game and after that Ginebra take over at will. I don't know what happened to their bigs (Marcelo out of shape hehehe), Phoenix really needed back Calvin Abueva and hope he will be back against Magnolia lol.

Their defense was really impressive, they've done a great job of Matthew Wright who only scored 12 points on a 5/17 shooting, and this turned out a low scoring game which was in favor of the BGSM.

Best player of the game was Stanley Pringle but it's more on the team effort that was really making them so successful at the moment.
During the post game interview, coach Tim Cone was asked about the TNT Giga, he said, they are preparing for that scary team, can't wait these 2 teams collide.

What a shocking news.

Inside the Clark Bubble there is a referee that ‘suspect’ positive in COVID-19 virus.

https://www.pba.ph/news/game-official-a-suspect-case-after-test

Nonetheless, today’s game would still proceed and aired live as usual.

I wonder if the referee has officiated on previous games and the next 24 hours test turned into positive.  Lips sealed
well this is very scary because if you are pulled in several previous matches, many are infected and there is no other choice but to temporarily stop the match because if you still continue there will be a very high risk, maybe one of the other options can use another referee but not anyone can guarantee that the spread of this virus will stop because we all know that Covid cannot be seen with our own eyes.

Hopefully it will not happen, it will possibly ruin the bubble as referees are not wearing mask inside the bubble.
If this will happen, probably there are people inside who broke the protocol and probably get out in the bubble and have contact with people outside with covid-19.

Yeah right. The games will surely be affected after this news, better to isolate and make a proper steps to lessen the chance of spreading out, it's not a joke since covid-19 really unpredicted.

It's necessary to investigate if the possibilities of someone can still go out is true, that particular matter is very risky since players and all the people inside the bubble are isolated.

I hope PBA will implement Coach Challenge like in NBA.

Good point.

In NBA there's a thing called Coach Challenge wherein the team's head coach can request for an instant replay review per game and contest it.
https://official.nba.com/coachs-challenge/

But this requires extra footage as the call will be crucial so several angles are necessary for accurate decisions. I think not a problem for PBA in terms of spending money to cover the cost. They should really implement that.

Agree on that one too because no matter how good of a referee you are, there are just a time where you can have a bad call because things happened too fast in basketball and they got only two eyes and they don't have the benefit of a slow motion. For sure PBA will consider this Coach Challenge very soon.

^^ how about that news, Alaska destroyed Blackwater and this kid showed up. Hope that was his break out game.

That would give him a lot of confidence as he was named as the best player in the team for one game, it will make Alaska's team to get more competitive, I like the way they play, defense all around despite the fact they are up with a comfortable lead.

Seen the last game last night, Alaska vs Black Water, seems like it's still the same shitty team Black Water is, I think the owner should really sell his team so it will improve, they have a good roster if you'll ask me but it looks like they are not competitive unlike the other teams in the PBA.

Alaska won by blowout, it was a 38 points win by Alaska with a Final score of 120-82.

How about Ebona, their best player, A rookie, another cebuano I guess, what do you think about this young fella?

At least we have seen that the league will not tolerate those wrong calls.

There are lots of questioned calls before but this time, it's a slap for the management if they will just ignore it.

A call can't be reversed after the game is done. I hope PBA will implement Coach Challenge like in NBA.

It was at the bottom of the article. Maybe you haven't go through until at the bottom of the page. Yeah, that was the issue and Marcial -Snip-

The call is very close and even how many replays it should be a let go call and allow the game to go to overtime, I don't see the reason why ref call this and change the direction of the game.

It's not going to be easy for everyone especially with Northport as they really played well on that final quarter with one controversial call they lose the game.

This very serious as ref can change the game but nt as obvious like this one, many disappointed
fans will surely react to this kind of action, very alarming to gambling side of this league.
Yes, the disappointment by the fans have been shown on this game. It had called the attention of Marcial and do we have any updates about this matter? I think the game's result will never change nor be forfeited. It's already an ended game and the record is already there.
But as for the sanctions, the referee has been charged and will be going home soon. As per spin.ph's article based from Marcial's statement.

The action of the commissioner need to be urgent as all the things that happened that game can't be forfeited as it is, the records already there and the team needs to move forward.

The sanctions of the refs may cool things for a while, it will give some relief to Nothport as they really suffered mentally from this contested call.

Now refs will be more careful and will learn from this mistakes as they will suffer
the same consequence the same punishments losing a job foe a certain mistake.
