HTC is expensive yet it isn't as popular as other brands like Samsung, Huawei or iPhone. I don't think it's blockchain features would be an advantage to attract more buyers because even a simple smartphone could support blockchain technology. What would be the edge of it to make it's worth buying?

So HTC following Samsung to enter to the cryptocurrency. But unfortunately, I don't use Exodus, and I am not familiar with that wallet. I still prefer mycelium and Electrum for saving bitcoin, and I use Jaxx for keeping my altcoin and tokens.
But that will be great for the crypto user because they can use HTC to save bitcoin. I wonder how much the price of the HTC mobile phone and if the price is almost the same as Samsung, then I don't think I want to buy that phone.

The first blockchain smartphone by HTC was released in late 2018. The company said that the sales had 'met expectations' which I think is a good sign since people would have become aware of blockchain since then.
Now, HTC has decided to launch another blockchain smartphone to boost the sales further. HTC has stated that the new blockchain smartphone will have additional features. While the previous one just had the 'Exodus' wallet installed, the 2n gen smartphone will have blockchain based apps integrated with the browser, messaging and social media.

"The phone’s second-generation model will reported extend its supported blockchain apps to areas such as browsing, messaging and social media. This will be in addition to the phone’s existing support for cryptocurrency and transaction management, alongside personalized e-wallets." - said Phil Chen, Chief Decentralized officer.

So what do you guys think about the new 2nd gen blockchain smartphone.
Will this make a difference in the market?
Will the sales cross the 'met expectations' mark and really boost the overall sales ?

Smartphone companies go through Blockchain integration one by one. Samsung has made a breakthrough, but I think the most important breakthrough was from HTC.

HTC is trying to make a bond between phones and blockchain. But Samsung has just added its OS to cryptocurrencies wallet. There is no blockchain yet its own.

What's the difference between normal smartphone and another one based on blockchain? The only obvious reason is only the price. And it still won't make our data safe. Simply because sometimes we give permission to use our data to dozen apps at the same time. So even if we get a safe blockchainphone our data is still vulnerable to those, who developing our apps.

I've seen HTC smartphones very expensive that is why it is not so popular here in our country because people here tend to buy cheap ones but had the same quality specs or high-end specs just like what we see in the HTC phones and sometimes even higher, But for HTC company to release such technology as blockchain on their mobile devices had me thinking that in some parts of the countries like the USA, Japan, Etc... I think people that have a
cryptocurrency would like to have mobile devices that tend to store does coins that they want to hoard and for the expense of that handheld devices security for their cryptocurrencies. This can surely make the market more popular and convenient, And you can carry your cold storage devices anywhere you go.

I remember the Exodus 1 phone launching back in 2018 but it disappeared from the market sooner than expected! I didn't think that it worked well for the mass unless and until you want to use an entire smartphone for crypto purpose. The first generation of this phone was costing around $750 USD alone, which was another roadblock for the phone to get required attention!

I personally don't think it would make any difference in the market now. However, HTC is playing smart and definitely looking at the future. They don't have an immediate expectation on this tech. It is similar to what Android was back in 2009 but if you look now, more than 75% smartphone are powered by android. HTC is planning something of that scale! Future tech ready product!

HTC phones have not been pulling weight lately. Although their phones always come with good tech. The new phone with blockchain features will further give voice to the emerging cryptocurrency market and make its users to learn about cryptocurrency. This may not have an immediate impact in the market, but will at the long term. I hope it won't be hack by revival competitors.
