hi,
I am a new user in bitcoin poker. I have enjoyed until now with sportsbet. I registered today in swc poker. How can I partecipate to the Bitcointalk POker Series? I see that I have to pay 1000 mbtc to partecipate. My account is clenching95

Hi,

we will be happy to meet you at the tables tonight! Smiley

All you need to do is transfer 400 chips on SwC Poker to "youcantwin" and you will then receive the password for the tournament --> buy-in is 1 mBTC (1000 chips)

Thanks free entry man. I really appreciate such gesture but unfortunately due to heavy rain fall in my area I might have to skip this tourney. May be next time I am going to register. Any way if I am not able to register this time next time I will catch you.
I am also going to offer one free spot for next tourney just to continue series of nice gestures.

Have to agree with what tyKiwanuka stated earlier - the number of "real" gamblers here on bitcointalk is... very limited! Yeah, the gambling section is huge but most people just shitpost for signature campaign quotas and actually have no clue about gambling - needless to say they aren't gambling for real. The few people who do, mostly spend just cents.

Honestly it gets more interesting with others playing as well, but if we held steady at our current number I'd be happy enough. It's still a good time. It would be nice to see some of our past participants join in, or a few of the others from the forum that I am surprised haven't jumped in yet.

i'm pretty happy as long as we can get 2 full tables going.

i wonder where @Iv4n has been. he was all hyped up to play last week then he never showed up. @1r0n1c, @CCwatcher420, @CoinEraser and @cygan were missing too. i hope to see all you guys on the felt tomorrow! we need our regulars!

Wow that's an awesome set up for tomorrow. Efialitis is gonna be up against some splashy call downs I think, can't wait to see some screenshots of how those go down. Very generous of you, awesome way to spice things up again for everyone.

Not sure if I'll be in tomorrow, I am on nights and likely will sleep right past the start time. We'll see.

I am still surprised that we don't see more people from SWC they play loads of tournaments with a higher buy-in and a relatively similar prize pool, it might come down to no re-entries. I've noticed most if not all of their tournaments have re-buys available and quite a few have add-ons. These can get pricey but I often see multiple folks with 3 re-buys, and various others with 2 or 1.

Honestly it gets more interesting with others playing as well, but if we held steady at our current number I'd be happy enough. It's still a good time. It would be nice to see some of our past participants join in, or a few of the others from the forum that I am surprised haven't jumped in yet.

Either way good luck tomorrow if I don't make it in, and if I'm there I hope to collect all bounties and take all your chips . Muahahahahah

Oh no word on my Watford jersey either. I just assume I'll get a package in the mail in a month or so.

Hey,
Can anyone send me 1000 chips for the weekend? I am out of chips and my BTC wallet is also empty at the moment. Will return on Tuesday.

Did anyone get that Watford jersey from WBD already btw ? I am still waiting for mine.

Nope. I haven't received yet too. My friends are big fans of Chelsea and I wanted to wear it tonight to tease them. Cheesy Looks like I have to wait more.

Chips sent!

Sent you 1000 chips, you can pay me back once you have access to your wallet  Smiley. Saw that you have sent 400 chips to efialtis already so another 1000 chips for you to register

Thanks man, appreciated. You are TikTokLife there, correct?

Yes I am using the nickname TikTokLyfe  Smiley

And I am in, now there is mighty 6 already registered. Hurry up guys and register. I have a feeling this will be the one to remember and brag around the forum. Few extra KO rewards + some new meat on the table with new bags of tricks, should be good.

IIRC you KO'ed alot of people in one of the matches in 2nd series. So go and KO alot of player in this weekend game again and let me place on top 3  Roll Eyes

My 2 cents:

 • Apart from what one would think, there aren't a lot of "real" gamblers in this forum imo.  it doesn't get lower. If we had 100 particiipants per tournament,
Lots of folks in this forum loves freebies more than anything therefore people are swarming the sportsbets freeroll ( either real player or alts ) while there wasnt really alot on 1btc tourney with low buyin

 • For most people, even 0.0014 BTC per tournament is too high, especially, if they don't see any chance to go deep in tournaments (the lottery maybe helps a bit with that).
Its over $10 buyin and its quite pricey for some third world country or even for few Country in Asia

I thought a lot about how to attract (and keep) more players, but it's not easy

You have done quite well with the new lottery system.

If we had 100 particiipants per tournament

Aside from the prizepool, it is good somehow to have smaller pack of people bonding together in weekend poker instead of having 100+ players. It is much easier to interact with people after the game in this forum. Imagine having 100+ players, that would be hard to get to know most of it. People will just come and go after the game and that is all

Not sure with any of you guys but I kinda see this stuff as community game rather than some competitive game each weekend but of course its a nice bonus if we can win  Tongue

Hi did the password change? its saying tournament is private when I try to register

password is different for every tournament. We regulars received passwords for all 8 tournaments. If you received just for first tournament PM efialtis after paying those extra 400 chips and he will sort you out.

Did anyone get that Watford jersey from WBD already btw ? I am still waiting for mine.

No jersey for me jet and I am bit concerned that we didn't get any Email confirmation regarding them as well. But no matter, I have high trust in  sportsbet and they would not let something like sending 150 jerseys ruin their reputation.

All your points are valid and i could not have put it any better myself. I think that biggest problem is that a lot of people talk about gambling but there is very few of us who actually put money where the mouth is Smiley

I personally have no idea why don't we have around 100 participants yet. I'd love to hear from other forum members, why don't they join, apart from the "low prize pool"?

My 2 cents:

 • Apart from what one would think, there aren't a lot of "real" gamblers in this forum imo. And the majority of those that really do gamble, prefer more fast-paced gambling, like Dice, slots etc. Poker is pretty time-consuming and takes a lot of time to kind of master. Dice, slots anyone can play; sports-betting is also "easy", because most people are interested in sports in general. And you can hop on hop off pretty fast, which is not possible with a poker tournament.
 • Time constraints. Not everyone has the time to sit at a poker table for possilbly around 3 hours on a Sunday.
 • For more advanced poker players, the prize pool is probably too low (ceehe kind of mentioned it) and/or it colludes with the big tourneys on PokerStars (like CryCryptoCry mentioned).
 • For most people, even 0.0014 BTC per tournament is too high, especially, if they don't see any chance to go deep in tournaments (the lottery maybe helps a bit with that).
 • Time zone issues. For Asians it's too late, for Aussies, west coast USA/Canada too early.
 • Not a lot of people have SwC accounts, so the entry hurdle is quite high. If this series was held on PokerStars (or even Sportsbet), it would be less weary for people to join. (This is no criticism for the series running on SwC, I like it very much there and the support/sponsoring from SwC has been fantastic and more we could ask for).
 • (Potential) players are intimidated by our community imo. This might sound strange, but we have lots of well respected and high-ranked users in our series and some interested users are probably a bit too shy, to "enter" this community. Language barrier might also play into this.

I thought a lot about how to attract (and keep) more players, but it's not easy. That 1 BTC tournament on Sportsbet the other week had super low buy-in and huge overlay and still only 150 (?) players joined. WBD had 500 Watford jerseys reserved for the first 500 entries and they were not even able to fill 500 spots. The jersey alone is worth multiple times the buy-in, but still it didn't attract a lot of people. So I guess, we will have to live with what we have now - maybe a regular player will join every now and then - but I am fine with it, as long as it doesn't get lower. If we had 100 particiipants per tournament, each tournament would take very long and that would scare of our Asian players and probably also some of the european ones, who have to get up early the next day.

Did anyone get that Watford jersey from WBD already btw ? I am still waiting for mine.

Higher prize pool would imply a higher ticket price. Do we really need that?

Another way of making the prize pool bigger is getting more participants.

Join up, guys! Smiley

My strategy was to wait for the good hand and then attack. It worked until I started to bluff and lost all LOL
It was a battle of nearly 4 hours I guess. Long run.
Thanks by the way.

Folks here compared with sportsbet folks are quite different. Normally you can tell most of it if someone has a good or bad card but folks on sportsbet usually keep on going all in even when they have bad card  most of the time

Plus the blind structure there force you to play some rapid pace otherwise your chips will keep on being eaten by the ante. I kinda like it more to play with you guys though  Tongue

Hey guys,

some info regarding Sunday's game - There will be two KO bounties

- Knock me out for a 2.5k Chips Bounty! (Easy one considering how bad I am playing)! Cheesy

- A mystery 2.5k Chips Bounty! (Will be picked randomly as soon as registration closes BUT only announced after the game has ended)

Yeah, this is it - I am in a good mood, so let's do this!  Cool

Wow! Thanks for that, @efi!

400 chips sent to youcantwin.

Registration done. Can't wait for the tournament to start!

nice finish yesterday in poker with steve, @BitcoinGirl.Club.
Thanks, it was fun.
I only saw arallmuus on a table but none others. I was looking for you, Trofo, betwrong and some others. This is first time I won something from Poker with Steve.
When I am well prepared, mentally and is in good mood, I can stay long time. I hope in the upcoming tourney on SwC I do not lose my patience like last time 🤪
