Why are rewards so low last night and today?

I usually get 40,000+, but I've been at 30, and as low as the mid-20s...

Probably because the pool picked up another Petahash of miners.  More miners means smaller slice of pie for you.

Poor impulse control.
...and what they really should be doing and used to promised to do in the past is, test on the testnet.

That's cute, thinking ASIC manufacturers used testnet in the past.

The burn in testing they are doing will pay for the office xmas party, hookers and all

Here comes all the pool hoppers and the longer block times. If they only knew how much more they could make if they just stayed here or somewhere else and left those miners along!

More likely batch 2 and 3 of the S3's "testing" as well as any other hardware mining before shipment. They usually try to spread them across several pools we have been seeing this for a while now.

Hi,

i've just one little question about account management.
my old mailadress doesn't exist anymore so i send an issue via mail to support and signed it with bitcoin-qt and selected same BTC-address i had set for payout. that was on 06-30.
on 07-02 it changed automatically to critical and owner is shown as Jan.

is there any way contacting support direktly asking for time it will take for changing?

i don't want to delete my account and set up new one only caused by can't change mail.

Anno

I think we are all guilty from time to time of changing our email accounts without fully considering the implications. Crypto currency is extremely vulnerable and like cash all precautions should be taken, in the future we will all be a little more careful when we change our email addresses.

We should all really have a paper copy of email addresses, passwords and encryption keys kept in a very safe place, and when changing email addresses we should all ensure that our email address is updated and all changes are confirmed before allowing the address to lapse.

On a slightly related note I assume that all pools must have thousands of accounts created on them that have balances below the payout limit where the account holder has either lost access to the account or has given up mining. What happens to these BTC do they just sit in the pool wallet forever?

Yeah ,, what happens to the BTC in a lost wallet too, there was a guy a couple of months before last xmas in the UK that lost 5m pounds or something on a HDD he chucked away.

Im sure if I did some research I could find out, but if anyone has a short answer on hand that would be great.

thank you

sadly, lost is lost and all the fractions of a btc sitting in a pool stay there until the pool shutsdown and the owner of the pool takes them.

Do you still have access to the slush account? Does it have any btc in it? If yes to 1st and 2nd question, just xfer it to your bitcoin wallet and start a new mining account.

If you don't have enough btc in your slush account for a xfer to your wallet just mine on it for a little while, set it to manual payout and as soon as you have 0.01btc +2%(xfer fee) do a manual dump and your account will be empty.

You cant change email address as part of basic security for your slush account. You can change your password if you have control over your email account but not your email if you have a password.
Think of it this way, if I had your bitcoin address from a recent transaction, would you like me to be able to send a mail to support quoting payout addy and requesting they change your account email to a different one, then changing the account password via new email addy and stealing any btc in your account. Which is pretty much what I can summarise from your post above that you sent through to support.

If you have sent an email to support, you have contacted them directly. You can try facebook but don't think you will get anywhere there either.
This is a mining pool, its not like a site where your membership is managed much past website level, if you have drama's with payouts etc slush is pretty quick to rectify from everything people have posted in the past.

So in a nutshell, you should create a new account

I see some folks have been having issues. I'll toss my 2cents in, my confirmed reward has dropped twice in the past week. What's the deal? I'm now lower than I was a week ago. May as well not even be on the pool.

The pool's avg. hashrate is higher now than a couple weeks ago plus with the recent difficulty increase, unless you keep adding more Gh/s, your rewards will eventually dwindle down to nothing.

Yes, that I understand, but confirmed is what has been locked in place. I've lost 25% of my confirmed reward in a week. That doesn't add up.

Have you checked your transactions page? I would definitely open a ticket if that had happened to me without making a withdrawal!
