Hi people, i have a problem
i have a notebook dedicated to mining having 3 USB 2.0 ports, and 5 Antminer U2 units.
when i connect 3 units to 3 ports, i usually get average 4800 MHash/s.
i bought powered USB 2.0 hub, 7 ports, external powered http://www.alza.sk/premiumcord-7-portovy-d235980.htm, i connected 5 units to the hub, cgminer is working, found 5 units, but i get average speed cca 3700 MHash/s or lower, some units (randomly) are working on very low performance
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-v8ppzHq_988/U8qKq0L0_nI/AAAAAAAAAbw/EtWuttYREPk/w660-h241-no/Untitled2.jpg.
I get similar results when i connect 2 units directly to the notebook USB and rest 3 to the hub.
Slow unit are changing randomly, very often unit attached to the hub is working on 2GHash. hub is powered by external power supply, internet connection is 10 Mbit/s, notebook is DELL i7 8Giga Ram, CPU usage 0-2%, units are not overclocked (i tried also higher overclocking, result were same), here is connection string
Code:
cgminer.exe --bmsc-options 115200:20 -o stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 -u *** -p *** --bmsc-freq 0781
what is wrong?

Bitcoin is the Future of currency
is there anyway to force the pool to set a minimum difficulty for my miner ?
I remember that slush pool use to have that option...

I
hate
long
blocks

that is all

Well, I'm glad that one is over.

Yes!! Let's hope for a couple of back to back quick ones now to get us back on track. We have had a great run of luck lately.

10 hours later for a good response. I wonder if he already googled it and figured it out on his own.

One can only hope  Smiley

So the difficulty decreases sometimes?  I was under the impression that it only went up-and-up-and-up.
How is the difficulty set?  Is it set by the number of leading '0's required for a block solution?  Who sets the difficulty? Is it the nodes?

A) The difficulty can decrease if the average block time over the most recent 2016 blocks is >10 min

B) Difficulty is set via mathematical forumal dependent on the time taken to solve the most recent 2016 blocks.

C) The difficulty determines the number of leading zeros required for a valid block solution.

D) The bitcoin protocol sets the difficulty itself.

Interesting how earnings are getting better. With my current equipment,  I had a low moving 7 day average of 0.057 BTC per day back on 6/28, and it crept steadily back up to .079 BTC per day yesterday. Just luck? That is a steady earnings increase on the same mining rigs through 2 LOD increases. Very interesting!

For the next time; The blocknumbers in the stats-page are linked to the blockchain-info page. That page provides the orphaned info directly Smiley

OMG a 5 second block.
Who thinks this will end up invalid?

It has been marked invalid!  Went to bed last night expecting a payout today once all found blocks had been validated, and was wondering why my reward had been dropped back for a short while.  Damn!

Those are a pretty good deal, I got 8 to replace my 7 S1 units, hope they get here soon!

Go to UPS tracking and select track by reference enter your Bitmain order number. It will show you if it is on the way. I have 2 that shows arriving Thursday I was in batch 1.

I have 4 ordered from batch 2 and 4 from batch 3, so they have not shipped yet. I hope they will be here by the end of the month, but last time I logged in Bitmain offered me a 7.7% refund or 10% coupon, which may mean they expect small delays. We will see.

Actually the coupon is because the 1 to 3 batch have some problems and the hash rate is around 7% lower than they anticipated and we will not be able to over clock. More info and a copy of their release in the S3 thread.

On a different note looks as if some of Batch 1 of S3's we be arriving Thursday, interested to see how much if any influence it has on our hash rate.
