I just wrote an app that will monitor the slush api and tells you when the pool finds a block.
It can optionally send push notifications to iOS/android via https://pushover.net

https://github.com/professoruss/blockfound

Let me know if you have any feedback or can find a cheaper push app (pushover is $4.99)

output looks like this:
Found new block!! Elapsed: 11:52:20 Hashrate: 879340.212GH/s

I've been asking the app maker on a monitor I have to add block notifications, might have to check this out!

I've been busy working on assignments and had a bad stomach bug a few days ago, haven't watched the mining much this week, clearly not much action, yikes! This "luck" is crazy. Glad I was too busy to look because I'd have been going insane watching these blocks. Hang in there gang, hopefully we can make it rain...

ONE block in 20 hours.  This is what I call taking one for the team.  I hope all the other pools are appreciating our sacrifice.  Is Slush not paying his monthly dues, is there collusion against Slush  ?   Slush, point your server at BtcGuild...LoL

And our hashrate is still almost 900 gigas... I'm surprised people aren't jumping ship, i don't remember things ever sucking this badly... Surely somebody out there compiles a list of pools, their payout per megahash, and their hit ratio... who is getting all the blocks, I wanna know...

don't say I never did anything for you...."who is getting all the blocks, I wanna know"

https://blockchain.info/search/   will indicate who is getting what

http://blockorigin.pfoe.be/chart.php  will show you the chart of pools & size, so you can see how the little tiny pools are even dominating us.

http://goo.gl/QMET   indicates the most important data that's crucial to finding blocks

I am pretty stubborn, so I am going to let it ride with Slush till the wheels fall off.

It looks like the difficulty went up today... am I wrong?
you are right HLF, check this https://blockchain.info/charts/difficulty?timespan=30days&showDataPoints=false&daysAverageString=1&show_header=true&scale=0&address=

Went from 2,193,847,870 to 2,621,404,453

Difficulty is a skyrocket nowadays.

Completely new to this so if my question is stupid I will say I am sorry now.  I have setup cgminer and configured a batch file to run it.  I was not able to get the batch file in the knowledgebase to work but I have gotten it launched with this

I:\CGMiner\cgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 -u XXXX.worker1 -p MyPassword

However, when I turn on verbose logging I see this...

(5s):0.00 (avg): 0.000h/s |A:0 R:0 HW:0 WV:0.0/m

This makes me suspect its not actually working. So here are my questions:

Is it working and there is simply nothing to work on now?
Is it not working and there is an issue with my batch file?
Is it not working and likely a firewall type issue?
Is there a way to tell how many MHash/s I am running?

Any help would be appreciated.  I do see other messages besides the above such as work update received and but my numbers continue to be 0

This current block round has a lot to live up to; I am not impressed with current time of nearly two hours.  The last block round lasted damn near 12 ...in yo face #21625 !

Even a low-grade ASIC such as the Block Eruptor won't get you very far, as it will probably not cover the cost of the electricity used to run it, but it is a start and will produce visible results, so it can at least provide some amusement.

Block Erupter Blades are still making some coin, well above the cost of running them. Not for much longer though with diff. shooting for the moon. But add in the cost of buying one at this point in time and you are guaranteed to lose money.

pool luck now at 61, 91, 95 - thats about as low as I've seen in a long while now. . .  lets hope it "corrects" itself. .

Of course it will. Give it only one thing. Time.

Just got my other 4 antminer U1s in.  All of them are now running.  Only issue is the cmd file I made to run the one didn't work for all of them.  I was thinking about over clocking them however I'm not sure where to go in bfgminer to do that, but I do know I can set it in the cmd file.  This is what the line looks like:

C:\Users\jason\Desktop\Bitcoin\bfgminer\bfgminer\bfgminer.exe -o stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 -u (slush pool worker) -p (password) -S antminer:all --set-device antminer:clock=x0781

I'm not sure if something is wrong with this line or if I just didn't give bfgminer enough time to load up each of them.
