Has anyone else noticed Slush showing a lower hashrate shown than their miner is showing? I seem to have lost about 5 to 10Gh in the last few days or so, yet nothing shows different at my end? For weeks it's been solid and within a couple of GH.

I am losing connection! I have been watching one of my workers for a while now and I lost connection for about 5 min is it better to just switch it to another pool until I can figure out what is going on?

You'd be best served configuring a backup pool in your mining software.  Pick a pool that's not like Slush's where you get paid per share regardless of age of share.  With Slush's pool, only the newest shares are valued.

How can I make sure that I am not being penalized for network problems or something like that? Been using slush every time I mine over the last 4 years and it seems like I have never been stuck this long at the same payout.

When are going to come the normal blocks?Huh I don't even ask for the fast ones!!
I assume you are referring to the round lengths, rather than blocks?  (They aren't the same thing).  Don't worry about that.  Don't worry about the 1-day luck figure - that fluctuates wildly and means little.  Just look at the 7- or 30-day luck, and start to worry only if they vary much from 100%.  As of a minute ago they were 105% and 99% respectively, which tells me everything is fine.  Over the longer periods, short and long rounds tend to balance out.

You assume right, fine gentleman. When I say blocks, I mean "OUR BLOCKS" haha.

I know we had worse than that... but so many rounds >2h in a row... usually we have a break

so what's the difference between the round length and a block? I assumed that the round was just as long as it took to find a block?
The round is the time it takes somebody in the pool to solve a block, not for the block itself to be mined.  During this time, many other blocks may have been solved by other pools or individual miners.  If you look at the statistics page you will see the round number in the first column - these are consecutive, and relate only to Slush's pool.  Further across is the block number.  Compare this to the previous entry, and you will see that the number has probably increased by more than one.  This is because the intermediate blocks went elsewhere.

Okay, specific recent example:

21138    2013-12-12 12:17:43    0:10:04    66923249    1134    0.00041559    274494    25.05831750    94 confirmations left
21137    2013-12-12 12:07:39    0:35:35    237881115    4273    0.00047107    274491    25.11792581    91 confirmations left

Round 21138 took Slush's pool 10'04" to complete since round 21137, which solved block number 274491, so the two intermediate blocks - 274492 and 274493 - were mined by somebody else.  We solved 274494 at 12:17:43, the block itself having taken just under eight minutes from when the previous block (274493) was solved at 12:09:58 elsewhere.

Rounds therefore do not equate to blocks, except when our pool happens to solve consecutive blocks in quick succession.

What a fucking ordeal I just went through.

Decided to sell some old equipment on ebay. Got home from work and found account suspended and to reset password. 'Ok whatever' I think to myself, so I hit reset and it says I need verification. I speak with someone on their 'live help chat' or whatever it's called and they say fraudulent activity has been noted on my account and to call some number to speak with security. I call the number, verify my phone number and how many arse hairs I have and they say "We've relisted you listing, sorry for the inconvenience" but I had to ask *why* was it suspended in the first place!

Answer: Lots of hackers using other accounts to list 'those sort of items'

Bullshit. I reckon they are purposely making it hard for people because of course they own paypal and we all know how much a lot of the big players hate btc.

Sorry rant over.

Tip: Allways post an actual picture of the item, with you ebay ID and even a Newspaper of the day!!! Not just because it will pass that preventions from ebay, but also it will give confidence to buyers and u´ll get better bids. (from a 8 years experience ebayer with >750 possitives).

Thanks for the heads up Smiley

Edit to add: Now the bloody thing is listed as a relist. So zero watchers and zero bids Sad fuckers

Edit 2: They've also taken off a banner that said "100% positive feedback" (over 12 years) and also removed a postage option. They're the ones being fraudulent lol - arrrggh gotta laugh hey

What's going on with this Diff.... never happened something like this in 2 month I'm in slush.

When are going to come the normal blocks?Huh I don't even ask for the fast ones!!

Current average block time for Slush is now 2h 46m  based on blockchain info.

Edit:- 6% of total pool, assuming average block time is 10m across entire pool

Anybody else have this problem with this monster? I was on the whole time, reward should have been .0005ish... just wondering what happened...

Okay, okay, it came thru OK... I just didn't wait long enough, it took over two hours to show up correctly. Sorry I made a fuss.

mannn this is a long round, lets hope we get a few fast ones to make up for it when this one is over!

Also how does everyone go about selling their bitcoins (if they do)... I won't go into asking whether it's good to hold onto them as that will only start arguments Tongue is there a thread dedicated to the best BTC exchanges or something? n00b question I know!

I use coinbase. Their exchange rate is very nice (usually between mtgox and btce) and refreshes frequently. You get money into your account within 2-3 days of selling them. More reliable than any other place I've tried, and they have merchant capabilities, and are actively listening to the user base for suggestions and making improvements.

If you're interested in signing up with them (after looking into them), you could use my referral link below. They'll deposit $5USD worth of BTC into your account by using my link.

do they work with Bank of America? I seem to recall hearing some banks will close your account or get pissy about anything being transferred in from a bitcoin wallet...

Yes just fine, it's one of the accounts I use to buy/sell with. Have had no issues, even with $,$$$ transfers.
