What??? i'm trying out block erupter usb sticks and it's fairly consistant until that block... ' none ' when even if i'm sooo slow at just over 1.00 gHash/sec for it to actualy be of value after 7 hours, it should NOT say ' none '

For Perspective...

I have the impression something is strange in the way shares are counted (or displayed) for very long rounds at current difficulty. Let us see the data:

block 272385, duration 7:48:38, number of shares: 2147483647
block 272149, duration 7:04:27, number of shares: 2147483647

It is rather improbable, but theoretically possible to get the exact same number of shares for these two rounds.
If you look at the number 2147483647 a bit closer, the situation looks even more suspicious.

2147483647 = 231-1

This should raise an alert to people familiar with programming...
It might be merely an issue of how data is displayed, or it might eventually be rooted in deeper layers which might or might not have other side effects.

Anyone any comment?

Cheers,

Well yes it looks to be a problem... I just swiched back to Slush to get BTC I had out and this is what I got for that block for 7+ hours at 100GH...

21007   2013-12-01 00:37:37   7:48:38   2147483647   none   none   272385   25.20690867    87 confirmations left

Since next block is already calculated

21008   2013-12-01 01:27:43   0:50:06   265077329   66440   0.00642591   272398   25.02827623    99 confirmations left

I guess this is an error and I left Slush because of that kind of errors... So I guess it will be best to just forgot my BTC hire and go...

I am more than double over the threshold (0.01) with no payout....

Will leave pool if no answer & payout like defineed in threshold.  Angry

Minimum has been .05 for several weeks now, if you are below that you should not be expecting a payout.
In my case it does work below .05, but the timing and confirmed level at which payout occurs is 'random' and unrelated to my threshold setting.  If we knew what the 'rule' applied is, it would make life easier...
(I know that so far everything was paid out accurately, but the timing is an issue too)

Guys, make sure you're watching the confirmed reward only. I have my threshold at .1 and am getting roughly 24 - 36 hour payouts. I'm content with that now. Thanks all for putting up with my whinging, I was watching the combined reward Cheesy

namecoin just checks the result from bitcoin mining and if it is good, applies it to the namecoin block tree. BTCguild does namecoin along with bitcoin on pplns. namecoins are worth about 6% of a bitcoin. I send the namecoins i make to BTC-e to convert them to bitcoins. then i have to wait until i meet the minimum transfer amount to send them to my wallet. I wouldn't care if i stopped getting namecoins.

I also have my payout at about once a week, never an issue.

I am curious about NMC now, I didn't care early on because it was more to try to digest while getting through my initial BTC/LTC learning curve.
As I get it (Please correct me if I am wrong) NMC mining is run in parallel with BTC mining or a byproduct of mining. Huh

I frankly don't care how a pool is operated as long as the pool does what I agreed to and signed up for, I can leave and never come back anytime I want.
I wonder if we are we currently mining NMC for the pool? If so slush is a very wealthy man.

NMC / USD is $9.50 today. I bought a grip at a few cents each just a couple months ago, Woot!

I'm new to all this, so I don't know how it used to be. I had my payout set as low as possible so I could get some BTC into a wallet. I wanted to see how backing up a wallet worked. How sending and receiving worked. I'm not sure how fast it paid out. I didn't meet the threshold. I went to work. When I came back it had paid out. Opened my wallet and it was there. I have since increased my threshold to pay out every 5-7 days. I should reach that threshold by tomorrow afternoon. We'll see how long it takes to payout.

You guys complaining about payout are watching the confirmed amount and not the total amount, right? also, in my opinion, expecting a payout more often than once every 24 hours is being greedy. I've set my payout to be once every 7-10 days and have had no problem what-so-ever.

My payout finally made it... Smiley and to Slush's credit, it accurately tracks all the other data on submitted shares and individual block rewards.
But if this inconsistency in payout timing persists, there are other pools (such as BTC Guild).

Personal text my ass....
Why do you guys stay here if you aren't getting paid on time or when you are supposed to? Loyalty or something? Even though I think all bitcoin pool operators are criminal thieving guys I've stuck and stayed with BTC Guild since the beginning. Even at times my reward level dropped and I made less I think it is well worth the fees you have to pay to mine there. BUT if the fees do increase there I would POSSIBLY try another "free" pool. If you haven't tried the Guild yet, give it a try. The web layout is very professional, easy to use and user friendly too. Its just clean and neat. Unlike the other pools I've tried which look like they are from the 80's using Microsoft Frontpage to create. And yes, this is my opinion. Good luck, we are all in this together.

Hi! I see that namecoin merged mining was suspended, but I also see that there is activity on the namecoin project, and I would ask you to re-enable support for it.

thank you

just seems odd the blades have a bigger loss compared to 22 eruptors. Is that normal?
It might be that your internet bandwidth is throttling the throughput.  I recently noticed that my set-up on cable broadband slows from around 8.6GH to 2.5GH in the early evening when all the World of Warcraft players and video downloaders get busy, before creeping slowly upwards to its normal level by around midnight; I tried swapping to an ADSL broadband connection and got no more than 4.5GH even off-peak.

I use a Jalapeno and two block eruptors mining through BFGminer; the reported hash rates for all three devices vary in proportion.

Hi everybody! Very much a new guy to mining and to slush's pool. I unfortunately have gotten into this mining far too late in the game and am woefully lacking in knowledge and equipment. I have been using guiminer on my laptop to CPU mine for about a day and a half now and have managed to rack up a whopping 0.00000138BTC!! Yeah, I know, only about 1/10th of a cent in USD, if I did my math correctly. I also know that mining with a CPU is not going to be profitable ever again with the ever increasing level of difficulty. But right now I am just trying it out and building up my knowledge level while making up my mind whether or not it would be financially feasible for me to invest money in buying better, faster mining hardware.
So with that said, what kind of advice do you veterans have for this rookie? Also, I know it has been explained several times before in this thread, but I am no CS major, so most of the lingo used is Greek to me. But looking at my stats I see several blocks where I have 2,3,4 or 5 shares listed, but with no reward. And other blocks with the same amount of shares but with rewards. Is this normal? Ok, please try to contain your laughter when you read that I have been getting single digit shares! Like I said, I am a rookie and am only using a CPU to mine with right now. I recall reading something about miners not reporting in or something along those lines, and that is why no reward was given? I know my measely little 400 - 800kh/s isn't contributing much, and I know my rewards are going to be much either right now. But I'm mostly just trying to understand everything (in Layman's terms). I have had guiminer running non-stop the whole time (day and a half now). Well, except for the time when I accidentally closed the window. Stupid Windows 8! But I opened it right back up and started mining right away. Other than that it has been running non-stop the whole time. Is there a way for me to tell if the miner is reporting in, or whatever it's called? I very much appreciate any advice I can get.

Pondering what the issue with reported hash rate and hash rate slush shows with Blades...
All my Asic USB Miners are dead on their reported hash rate and the slush report.
for example one group of eruptors 22 report 7300mh/s and slush shows 7202.33 which is essentially the same taking into account luck...
However my blades are all consistently 600-2000mh/s wrong.
these 2 grouped together should be 18gh/s yet slush has been showing 15619.041 for days.
10.89/ 8.06/ 7.81Gh/s | A:8791 R:191+0(2.3%) HW:476/.80%
11.97/11.10/10.44Gh/s | A:66460 R:1463+0(2.2%) HW:24273/3.9%
Another blade is running at 8gh/s but consistently shows 7511.846.
I guess that one isnt as bad.

just seems odd the blades have a bigger loss compared to 22 eruptors. Is that normal?

They might be restarting if they are not cool enough. I had issues with my router and eventually went with a crossover cable from my laptop to switch to blades, you might want to try a different way of networking the blades. Other than that, on startup it usually takes the pool's web UI a while to "catch up". If you have a good wind tunnel and solid network connection it should be fine running through the proxy.

In regards to other discussion here, I'm almost double the minimum threshold with no payout.
