I guess we aren't paying fo 24/7 support, but we do pay the 2% fee. We pay for a service which currently isn't running which I do see as a problem. In fact, noone has even reponded officially about that status of the pool.

It's hard not to think that for just 1% more you can purchase the reliability of deepbit along with long polling. Or for free you can still get up and running BTCmine.com with a real choice to payment to operator so you don't feel like you are paying for nothing.

Why argue about it. There is something  going on with more then normal  bad blocks.
I liked the pool it was the first one I used. Extra bad blocks I was gone.
I only have 2 Antminer S3 so I need all good blocks I can get.
Was at Antpool and was doing better. Now trying mmpool.

If you still there and taking the loss and knowing it's  Goin on stop crying about it you are willing staying there.

Proof by admission, if any was needed, that puny pools are spamming the bitcoin network with bad block headers.
Take your trite back to your whingeing threads ...

Well, there is a new phenomenon where puny pools spam the bigger pools with corrupt block headers ... that may explain the seemingly inferior effective hashrate (and reduced luck). Slush always susses these things out and it is just a matter of time before all is good and dandy.

EDIT: Ignore: yes - says the kano alt ....
Heh funny how you has to resort to lies to try and cover for slush.

... or are you saying slush is SPV mining? Cheesy

A bad block header has no effect on any pool that isn't SPV mining.

Don't listen to all these phising dimwits mumbling about the inferior puny pools.
The ONLY reason pool hash rate keeps steady (and growing) at slush is because it simply is the better pool. Luck shall turn and, as always, you'll get the full payout that you've earned at slush, which is not the case with those inferior pools (whose operators have resorted to spamming the network with corrupt headers).

Warning: Trade with extreme caution!

I've been a Slush supporter for a very long time - and stuck through many bad times

But

I am now convinced that the effective hashrate is about 12-15PH/s - not 40 plus

This is my working hypothesis

Is it possible for Slush to report this incorrectly?

I left pool when  invalid  blocks started showing up.

People are are crying  because  of the loss of Bitcoins but they still mine there, Explain the logic.

Yes that beats me - the luck plummets for an extended period - but the hash keeps rising?

Simple explanation is they (we until yesterday) expect luck to change.

But it just does not change.................I have sat with it for weeks but NOTHING Cry

I have gone to Kano - see how it goes

Just can't suffer at Slush anymore

I am probably going to switch permantely to a PPS pool because lately this pool has horrible horrible luck.

I really wish this pool would go PPS because their servers are good but its costing me alot of loss from the bad luck.

Bitcoin Talks Bullshit Walks
What stands out to me on this last stretch of bad luck..    It took us with over 40 ph over 7 hours to solve a nmc block.. and 12 hours in that same time frame to solve a btc block.. WhaT the pool was doing for those 7 hours is a bit questionable for sure..   Bad luck on both coins seems a bit of a stretch to me.. On nmc thats just outright terrible luck considering its diff is less than half of btc!!

Im starting to become a bit suspicous to say the least.. I know its possible but the odds of this happening over and over is starting to become a little hard to take.

Agreed...

That's why I left.  It's just too damn suspicious for me as well.

I didnt know that slush was ever caught doing that.. Be nice if you can see the end destination of the mining wallet someway.. I know you can setup a proxy that would be on the same port as your pool.. then within 30 seconds shut down the pool stratum .. fire up the proxy. and bam  you are now mining with everyone hash at a pps pool.. so easy that it makes it awfully tempting..

Now this could actually be about luck.. Organofcorti did a pc on this back in july  about mining luck  http://organofcorti.blogspot.com/2015/07/faq-bitcoin-mining-and-luck-statistic.html.. You will see 75 % bad luck vs 25% good luck as the bad luck streaks last much longer.  Now according to him in time you should get to neutral luck.. well here is a scenario i have that will keep you from ever getting a chance at catching your luck back... So if a pool is say 10 peta for arguments sake and we have the rest of the network growing at exponential rate.. If the small pool get a streak of bad luck it can be devastating and here is why i think so.. if it say takes 10000 blocks to even out for arguments sake.. by even out i mean neutral luck.  If the network was steady that is no growth or decline in speed we will then have a steady diff.. This allows a smaller pool who might experience a ruff patch to catch up.. Yes it will take them 10 times longer than the other two pools time wise to go thru 10k blocks.. But according to statistics over time we should even out our luck.  But the problem we have is a growing network.. But its not across the board. its only a few pools.. and whats worse is its the largest of the pools.. So what happens is the diff keeps increasing. never allowing for the smaller pools to catch up on there blocks.. now with the halving coming close and there seems to be a huge push from the big boys on hashrate.. i think if a smaller pool sees a bad streak it could possibly never recover as we keep decreasing reward every 2 years roughly.  i hope im not off the wall here in my thinking.  what you all think??

Im not saying slush is doing this..but I know its possible to move a stratum port to another pool  >> say a pps pool for a few hours.. Then swap it back.. All within the time so your machine will never notice.. This is a major issue i have with putting trust into another pool.. This should never have had to be an issue if we all stayed more decentralized!! ie solo mining.

this could explain the odd swings in hashrate we been experiencing idk..

d57heinz

eleuthria [The creator of BTC Guild] will tell you about the times Slush pool had moved their stratum port to BTC Guild when they were online.  I wouldn't be surprised.
