stormos: technically it is "Your score / total score * block value * 0.98" (fee)
but score is more like a virtual value and it's not displayed on the table, because it would be mess. So approximate calculation is your shares / total shares * block value.

For your situation it is "3009/2457187. * 32.6 * 0.98 = 0.03912", which fits your block reward with some variance given by score method.

You can read https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.50002 to understand the score method better and why there's some variance.

Hi! Could you explain please how my reward calculated in this case:

# 16857
Block found at 2013-03-12 23:24:01
Duration 0:43:09
Total shares 2457187
Your shares 3009
Your BTC reward 0.03391125
Block # 225560
Block value 32.63364617

shad, the longpolling is working nicely, unfortunately old miners are crap software. It doesn't reconnect well, flood the connection or so. That's the reason why I'm pushing people to use Stratum, because it doesn't have most of these problems, plus it is much more optimized. I'm sorry if I banned you and you're regular user; most of banned users were just people who installed some crap software years ago and they don't care about it anymore.

And as you see, stratum is working much better ;-).

sending an email to getwork users with announcing setting fee to 10%
and
banning miners without longpoll support are to different things

sure i don't care, mining on multiple pools is a nice thing

also you are the only pool where i have longpoll problems i didn't even notice

trying stratum on stratum.bitcoin.cz works better than on api.bitcoin.cz Cheesy

The blocks marked as "invalid", will be recovered, or keep "orphaned" forever? We can´t get the BTC obtaneided with them?

These blocks will be unfortunately orphaned forever.

Save A Life, Adopt a Pet Today!
The problem is fixed now. Unfortunately we were pretty fortunate and some blocks will be orphaned because of this bitcoind issue :-(.

That Forking Sucks!

(but at least it appears to be fixed...)

Slush is working on the problem. Last word was to continue mining on slush's pool.

Should difficulty increase significantly then shares/minute per worker will drop.

I'm running 1.6 GHash/s on diff2 and I didn't noticed increased variance in block rewards. For your hashrate I recommend diff2, you'll be fine.

Quote
Will then exponential scoring system penalize me for not submitting shares very often?
At the very least my variance should go up.

Penalize - no. Increased variance - theoretically yes. But as far as the difficulty increase isn't aggressive, you won't notice it.

Does it then make sense for me to "merge" these workers under a single user/pass? Should I use proxy?

You don't need to use single worker account, but using the proxy is always a good idea.

Slush,

I'm running 4 workers with hash rates between 400Mh/s and 800Mh/s totaling a little over 2Gh/s. That is 1800 diff1 shares/h or 30 shares/minute. (5-10 shares/minute per worker) (and yes they all run stratum)

Should difficulty increase significantly then shares/minute per worker will drop.

Will then exponential scoring system penalize me for not submitting shares very often?
At the very least my variance should go up.

Thx.

Today I blocked few hundreds of IPs on Getwork pool running old, unmaintained miners even without long polling support. Their owners has been contacted by emails (without any response). If you're affected (=you can access website, but you miners cannot reach api.bitcoin.cz/api2.bitcoin.cz) and you want to fix your miners, install some newer miner and point it to stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333.

Slush, I have noticed that at times I have trouble getting work from api.

Old getwork pool (api.bitcoin.cz) isn't maintained too much and there's quite high stale rate. Obviously owners of ~500 Ghash/s hashpower don't care too much. I'm writing them emails, displaying red warnings on website, no way.

Quote
I have started to use port 3333. I will tell you if it does any better. I am using cgminer with stratum support.

Well, I'm sure this will be much better Smiley.

Quote
I have noticed the difficulty, I am not making much with my little 800 mhas setup.

For 800MHash/s setup, the difficulty 1 is fine and I don't recommend you to rise it up.

Quote
I set mine higher than 1 and I get no share. Got any idea of why? Can I set it to 2 and get 2 shares? Will it hurt my income with my slow hash rate?

With higher difficulty, you have lower chance to find the share. So  with 800MHash/s the basic difficulty is quite fine.

I have noticed the difficulty, I am not making much with my little 800 mhas setup. I have still managed to mine some coins though. Keep up the good work. I have also used eletrum wallet. I like the design of it. A smart person will not lose their wallet. Good thinking on that one. User difined thing you have going on is great thing if you are fast miner. I set mine higher than 1 and I get no share. Got any idea of why? Can I set it to 2 and get 2 shares? Will it hurt my income with my slow hash rate?

FWIW stats page looks good from here (Opera Browser, 100% Zoom, 1920 x 1200 res screen, Win 7 x64 w SP1).

Thanks for the great work Slush from a late Bitcoin miner (though I may try my hand in Litecoin mining once I earn 1 BTC from your pool).  Smiley
