I'm solving the issue, looks like another attack.
Do you find your pool is subject to more DDoS attacks than most, or is it pretty common? I've been following the mystery miner threads, and have been wondering if a botnet might start DDoSing the major pools to drive down difficulty. Is that a possible attack, or would it be something that would take too long to be practical?

very strange and something to think about, I switched over to btc guild and the 100% cpu bug thats been happening on all 3 of my mining machines went away.  Same settings in gui miner just changed pools.

It's called variance. Unless you have connection problems it is very normal that payouts vary on a daily basis depending on pool luck.

Yes but yesterday was almost zero.

We've had a terrible run where we only solved 2 blocks in over 12 hours, so that will make a huge difference.

I think this was the problem because my Mhash/s is always the same. Smiley

What's happening? Few days ago i started mining with slush's pool. Everything was fine, but today, even if i am mining with the same power, i receive only a very small fraction of what it used to be. And i think it works only for the first minutes. (sry for my bad english)
Is the website reporting that you have less MHash/s than you're expecting, or did you just see less BTC? We've had a terrible run where we only solved 2 blocks in over 12 hours, so that will make a huge difference.

I found my 4th block for the pool yesterday and have only mined 88btc. But it will hopefully balance out at some point.

I started out the same way, found 3 blocks before even getting 100 btc, but then I made another 125 btc before finding another block.  So now im at 225 btc paid out and I've found 4 blocks.

It always evens out in the end...

Today I blocked some suspicious IPs. Let me know if you cannot reach the pool and you're not  a russian script kiddie.

I don't know GUIminer configuration format, but there's new parameter in poclbm miner - see "poclbm.py --help"

I'm wondering if someone can help me connect to Slush's pool through Tor. I have the Tor client set up and running, and am able to download the blockchain in the client by setting the client to use a sock4 proxy. However, I'm having no luck with setting up GUIMiner to connect. I get a "Problems communicating with bitcoin RPC" error when trying to connect to host pool57wkuu5yuhzb.onion on port 8332. Are those the correct settings, and do I have to edit some kind of config file to set guiminer to use a socks proxy?

If GUIminer already included latest poclbm, which is optimizing mining over Tor, then everything what you need is to use host "pool57wkuu5yuhzb.onion" and configure poclbm to use proxy on 127.0.0.1:9050 (local Tor socks proxy).

So, the poclbm.ini file be edited with a new field for proxy information? I'm having some trouble finding information on what fields are acceptable. Adding in "proxy": "127.0.0.1:9050", doesn't seem to work.

EDIT: I can connect and hash through poclbm using the command line and --proxy=socks5://127.0.0.1:9050. I'm just have issues going through GUIminer.

BTW. Why did slush go down just now?
EDIT: ok, it is up running again.

There was middle-sized coordinated attack against the pool. It took me few minutes to locate source of flooding, so pool was down for a moment. I'm sorry for connection issues.
