Note: At this moment you need to turn off long polling on profile page for mining over tor. There's 30-minute cache of settings for already used worker in pool core, so I recommend you to create blank new worker "tor" with LP disabled. If there will be enough interest, I'll modify pool to support LP & Ntime rolling over Tor as well (which dramatically improve Tor mining experience).

I managed to get namecoind to generate an address by redirecting the cmd "bitcoind.exe getnewaddress | clip" output to the clipboard. I am looking for documentation of the windows bitcoind syntax.
Just use 'bitcoind help' to get a list of commands. If thats what you meant.

database messed up or very bad luck or both?There were database problems for a half of a hour, but it didn't affected all hashpower. So it's basically bad luck, but it only balances very good luck right after DDoS attacks, when we found many blocks with really tiny hashpower.
Also watching only round time isn't good enough, because hashpower (both network and pool) is climbing down, but difficulty is still high. That last 8+ hour round had "only" 7mil shares, which is not extremely bad (however it's still much worse than average).

Note: The namecoind file will only open and have a flashing underscorer "_". You need to open another cmd prompt to type in the configuration, or the "namecoind getinfo" command. You have to cd to the directory first. If this is your first time using cd (change directory) then I would research it first. For instance mine is in a folder on the desktop so I would type "cd \Users\Username\Desktop\NameCoin"
Then you can type in the namecoind and the other commands (type "namecoind help").

If you are able to create a bitcoin.conf file with proper file extension you can do the following;
In the same directory as your namecoind make a new text file. In it include only the following one line;

Now save the file as "namecmd.bat" and in the future when you run namecoind, you will then just run namecmd.bat and already be in the correct directory/prompt to run "namecoind" commands in. Its not much but will make life easier for anyone not accustomed to using cd to a bunch of long name directories.

Yeah, I tried running the Windows version by twobits. I setup a config file as instructed, but namecoind doesn't seem to work.
This thread helped me:
How to control Namecoind.exe
Just go to the folder where namecoind.exe is installed and double-click it to run it. A window will appear with just a blinking cursor. That is namecoind running. Just minimize that window so that it continues to run so you can give it commands from another command prompt window.
Back out of that folder where namecoind.exe is and shift-right-click on that folder and then choose 'open command window here' from the context menu
( or else just open a command prompt in the usual way and navigate to that folder ).
Now you can give it commands by typing things like (you may need to give it a little bit of time to download the blockchain before giving it commands* ):
namecoind getinfo
namecoind help ( to get a full list of the commands... to create addresses... to send namecoins to other addresses etc. etc. )
*You can check what the latest namecoin block is here:
http://explorer.dot-bit.org
And then use that 'namecoind getinfo' command to see if it is uptodate before using other commands.

This website is all about the new namecoin wallet. http://dot-bit.org/Main_PageIt has a list on the right hand side for different operating systems.

I wouldn't go for the earlier downloads, they had some flaws and most of the mining pools will support the new 3.24.64 distro.

It has the same caching format as bitcoin, meaning it needs to get all of the blocks before it can payout. Then you add the namecoin address to your favorite mining pool.[/list]

I am using guiminer on win7 so I don't think I can use Namecoin at the moment. I created some NMC addresses at bitparking for now and set the payout threshold on slush high. I don't like using online wallets like this, but until I can figure out how to run namecoind.exe on win7, this should suffice.
So am I use the one that says "windows by twobits". It works fine.

Excuse me if i am wrong but it seems to me extremely unwise to opt out of NMC mining since even if you do, your hash rate is still used to generate NMC so you basically giving your NMC away. It is not that hard to run a namecoind (in a virtual machine if you don't trust the namecoind builds) once to create a wallet to receive the NMC.
You can just put the nmc wallet near your bitcoin wallet backup and forget about it, and one day you can exchange a large bunch of namecoins for bitcoins for some extra income.

I'd like to mention once again, that 'merged mining' isn't stealing of someone's hashrate for mining some alternative weird-currency; merged mining is something like testing submitted shares twice - first time against bitcoin target, then against namecoin target. And people which aren't interested in NMC will earn still the same amount of bitcoins.

Ummm either we've had extreme luck on NMC while the BTC luck has been down or accounting is busted I only got back on fully about 7 rounds ago and well... Let's just say it looks like those extra backends being switched to merged has given a rather dramatic increase

Would it be possible with a further increase in the NMC limit? Just so we can keep it to 1 payment a day? Having a ton of different payments come in during a day is confusing. I realize that you aren't a bank but plz 
Currently that threshold limit is 100NMC. Still not high enough? :-)
