Hi there  Grin

Uhmm I noticed that your pool has been added to this bithopper programm...
It says in the config file that this pool uses a broken scoring algorithm :/

Should we worry about that? One main reason I am mining here is, that
I was thinking the score based system would protect somewhat from the pool hoppers.
On the other hand the pool is pretty big, so the effect they have on the
rest of the pool is probably very small. Still worries me a bit.

We are only hopping for the fun of it on slush, our way to *cough pay back some btc *cough* to the pools. Wink

I'm still having the problem that my payout seems about 14% lower than expected.
Part of it is stale shares (about 1.6%).
Then maybe some commission.
But after that, i can't find any reason.

I'm mining @351MH/s and it's very consistent, no network drops or similar.
The graph on bitcoin7 shows this consistency, but it settles around 0.18BC .
The bitcoin calculatoirs predicts 0.21BC at current difficulty (1690906).

So, where does this difference come from and how do i get it back?

I have already contacted slush, bu he has no real answer besides that it's random chance.
It's not, the payout has been stable over a period of a week, the averaging graph of payout is pretty horizontal, which means it's stable and averaged.

So, again, if anyone has an explanation...  Cry

Slushes pool had bad luck, steady for most of the last week.  His response to you was accurate:  random chance.  No pool, regardless of size is immune to luck.

Hi, I have problem with one of my miners recently.
I have two miners on same local network. Everything was ok until few days ago, since when minerd on my laptop cannot connect.

Code:
[deafboy@deafboy-notas ~]$ minerd -a 4way -s 4 -t 2 --url http://api.bitcoin.cz:8332 --userpass deafboy.notas:XXXXXXXXXX
[2011-08-01 12:41:57] HTTP request failed: Empty reply from server
[2011-08-01 12:41:57] json_rpc_call failed, retry after 30 seconds
[2011-08-01 12:41:59] 2 miner threads started, using SHA256 '4way' algorithm.
[2011-08-01 12:42:27] HTTP request failed: Empty reply from server
[2011-08-01 12:42:27] json_rpc_call failed, retry after 30 seconds

The other miner on the same network works fine:

Code:
deafboy@pathfinder:~$ minerd -a 4way -s 5 -t 4 --url http://api.bitcoin.cz:8332 --userpass deafboy.pathfinder:XXXXXXXXXX
[2011-08-01 12:47:26] 4 miner threads started, using SHA256 '4way' algorithm.
[2011-08-01 12:48:44] thread 0: 16777216 hashes, 204.66 khash/sec
[2011-08-01 12:48:46] thread 1: 16777216 hashes, 203.28 khash/sec
[2011-08-01 12:48:47] thread 2: 16777216 hashes, 202.53 khash/sec
[2011-08-01 12:48:48] thread 3: 16777216 hashes, 201.74 khash/sec

I have also another two miners, each one in diferent datacenter working without problems.
I can't see any reasonable explanation.

And btw. I know that CPU mining on laptop is unprofitable I just can't wait for my 5970's Wink

My reward on several rounds says 0.00000000. What does it mean? It can't be precious enough to show more decimals? Thanks.

i think you get more reward with more workers. when i used 1 worker i would get .002 then i switched to 6 workers i got .005

Or you could just lower the threshold to your current balance?
0.1 is the lowest I think. If I stop mining anything below that won't be sent to me. Not much, but every little thing counts.  Wink

I'm working on the upgrade. Soon payouts will not be limited to two decimal digits Smiley
Great!

No sweat. I've enjoyed the pool while it lasted. Now difficulty is too high for me and I'll only mine on borrowed power with a cpu.
If you're changing things, perhaps the option to have the full balance paid out if no shares have been submitted in X days?

Last mining I'll do in this pool.

Might I ask why?

That other pool pays out the full amount after 7 days of inactivity, so I can mine a little every now and then and when I get tired of it I'll all come to me and I won't have to do anything. I have a few btc in another pool that I can't get out because it's too small. I like this pool but I don't want to leave the few bitcents I'll manage to scrape together here because I didn't manage to get up to some threshold.

We got a 9 second block! Smiley
And I managed to get a share or two there. Sweet sweet 0.03 BTC.  Smiley
Very sweet. 0.03503616
Last mining I'll do in this pool. I'll do some hobby cpu-mining in some other pool if/when I get access to free power. Probably elegius or whatever it's called.
