You are right, whatever the situation whether winning or losing then it is better to stop with the aim of calming down. Also, don't forget to do research first so that we don't have the wrong mindset in responding to gambling.

Refreshing your session either you are in the winning side or in the losing will keeps you away from exceeding to your set limitation, as long as you are capable to control your emotion you have a good glimpse of preventing yourself getting addicted, it's always your choice and your own will that's why most of those who got addicted are people who unable to think clearly those who intend to win more but unfortunately they end up losing as they can't control their own greed.
It all comes back to how we manage our emotions and the responsibility we have in gambling because in the end it all comes back to that regardless of whether we are winning or losing everything will be the same where self-control becomes an important factor to have in the end.

Sometimes this becomes a crucial situation because in the end before stopping there is always a conflict within ourselves especially when we are winning a lot or losing a lot which is because when we lose we will definitely not feel satisfied when stopping and when we win with a large amount we always assume that there will be another bigger win waiting so in the end there is always a conflict with this. But this is precisely what should be underlined that greed will not have a good impact especially in gambling, so when our control weakens as much as possible we must make some differentiators so that we stay awake from activities that are beyond expectations and so that we remain in healthy gambling where we can take a responsible attitude in it.

I recently lost a good amount of money playing slots, equal to half of the average salary in my country, and it happened very quickly. I didn't think that I should have played with smaller bets so that luck would have a minimal impact on my game. Instead, I placed a big Bet per spin.
This is because the online casino gave me a lot of bonus money for the first deposit, and I decided to play greedily. After all, a big Bet means a big win for the multiplier. So, now I understand those who lose money quickly and then look at their empty balance. This is really necessary and important to accept.
I don't think you feel it so much based on how I sensed your reaction towards it here, notwithstanding, I hope it is a true lesson for you to avoid next time. No one knows it all in gambling and it could make you go down financially very fast just as it could make you hit the Jackpot unexpectedly. The temptation is that it all depends on the kind of games you played and the amount you committed to it. If it is always a small amount, you can be sure that you may not win a sizeable amount from it, but it is a way to make you gamble responsibly, especially if you have good management attached to it. But for the big risk, well, it's senseless, it hardly works for people but has a track record of ruining people's finances.

I think "Accept the loss" is the most important point on the list because it’s key to minimizing risks in gambling. Main reason many lose a lot in gambling is that they can’t accept a loss, they try to chase it, only to end up losing everything, sometimes even money that wasn’t meant for gambling in the first place.

This is the kind of discipline we need to develop. From the start, we should understand that gambling has only two outcomes: winning or losing. Knowing how to handle both is just as important as placing the bet itself.
To accept the loss and to stop chasing after the loss with thoughts of recovery is the best approach after the loss has been encountered and it is best for one to relax, take a stroll, go for a swim or partake in some other fun activities within the time frame inorder not to brood about the loss.

I do experience loss often times but I try to reduce my gambling bets once my the frequency of my loss is getting too high. Even changing to other games may not help because I believe gambling requires a calm emotional response, else whatever we do after being upset will always tend to zero profit and more losses.

You are absolutely right, this is something a lot of gamblers find it hard to do instead they try to avert Their losses by gambling more to recover what they have lost. I remember the times I tried to get back what I lost, 80 percent of the time I lost everything 20 percent times I got it back with profit but if the times that I lost outweighs the times I won it means that I lost. Thinking about what you have lost too much can tempt you into gambling again, accept the loss and look for something else asides gambling that you can use to get the money you need.

The numbers of chances to win and recover back is way far from the chance of risking to lose more, better analysis and wise choice of your decision making to losing a lot.

Huge loss in gambling can be so emotional, it's can actually make a person loss his sanity.Gambling can be seen in two ways,it's either you win or you loss, and we are bond to feel pained when we loss(not only in gambling)because we are humans, blood flows through our veins.
Sure but we all differ in how we manage and cope with our emotions. Some may be less emotional than others while some may be a little too emotional. In that sense, we need to make some adjustments.
But in this case, of course, we should be able to make some changes as much as possible so that in the end, even though gambling is still done, of course we must also be able to put ourselves and evaluate so that what we do does not make us a big loss.

Each person's self-control is different but this certainly cannot be used as an excuse for us to be able to tolerate the gambling activities we do, especially when we are in a path that is actually not too possible for us to assume that we are not in trouble in gambling.
Nowadays, there are a lot of people who ultimately claim they gamble responsibly but they are actually affected by a large addiction because they always normalize their actions when they are on the track especially when they cannot control themselves properly in the gambling they do in the end.

Op I think your opinion on the things to do after a huge loss in gambling is quite okay,I would pick 3 out of the 5 you listed not because the rest are irrelevant but because I know alot of gamblers that have been applying that principle and it's working for them.
The other two might be a bit uncommon still so I understand your point. Some people may be too skeptical and maybe even a bit embarrassed to go seek out professional help let alone for gambling. But therapy can be applied to anywhere and you don’t nave to have a mental issue to seek out professional advice. Sometimes, it just helps to be guided by someone objective and understanding.

As per the last one, it’s a bit difficult to embody and maybe a therapist could help us with that haha.

Now on this case or kind of situation, what we are considering is the next action to take after suffering a huge loss, which i see to be more different form just making an ordinary loss, gambling is what we need to calm down and play, apply a specific strategy over it and also be able to manage the risk on it, because betting in some cases will have both winning and losing option to take, but what we know will determine the kind of decision we make.
Bettors who had just lost really big should first calm down and quit gambling at that time, there is no need to try again, or else, that huge loss could be the beginning of his losses and devastation. For me, gambling is not by force, such should at least take enough breath to ponder on the mistake (personal or psychological) and whether he is adequate to bet again or just avoid betting entirely. The financial capacity is another consideration here, it's not worth it if gambling ruins the person altogether.
I agree with what you said, someone who has just experienced a big loss must be able to control themselves so as not to repeat the same mistake and reflect on what is currently happening instead of being even more eager to gamble more and recover previous losses because if gambling when the atmosphere is chaotic will make gambling uneasy and eventually experience greater losses. It is important for someone to manage their own risk management and not overdo it when gambling so as not to experience too much of a big loss which ultimately affects their mentality.
But instead of spreading a calm courage to return ourselves to the most considerate state, we are like a lost child constantly crying to snatch back what others have taken, once depressed like that, the problem will only pile up and finding forgiveness from gambling is very difficult, gambling only adds to the anger of people who sell their souls completely.  Once people have reached a threshold that their tolerance cannot allow, they should stop working to see the right way to stop, instead of continuing a chain of collapses.

The best way to limit your losses is to use an amount that you can afford to lose. However, gambling for fun will make you overlook your bet when you lose it. If you gamble for profit, that's when you will not be able to overcome the temptation of chasing your losses. You will think that's possible for you to recover them, when it's impossible.
Yes this is the main thing they can keep their gambling habit in a limitation and keep a fixed budget which won't cause any big losses then gambling doesn't affect them badly. Gambling is a place of entertainment where a lot of fun can be had. But if someone keeps depositing huge amount of money here thinking it as a way of income and keeps losing due to greed then it is totally his personal failure.  If one gambles only with a certain amount of budget and time limitation then it will always lead to a good experience for him.  But if one is overly emotional and greedy then it is natural that he will suffer

1.Accept the loss:We should learn to accept our loss in gambling no matter what though it's painful.Accept the loss and try some other day maybe that wasn't a lucky day for you.
2.Tell someone:A common statement(a problem shared is a problem solved), that proverb has been working for me so far so good,I don't care if the person I shared my problems/pain with would use it against me in the future. Those that want to accept your pain will and cheer with you.So I think telling people you trust would help.
3.Socialize with friends: Isolating yourself from others after a huge loss in gambling would not ease the pain rather it would cause mental disorder like depression so it's best you go out and chill with others.Even if you isolate yourself the did has already been done and you can't reverse it.

Here is my own five things to do after losing big amount of money to gambling.

1. Take time to have some rest and don't run into making more bets in other to avoid increasing losses upon losing money.
2. Try to oberver carefully on what make you to realized loss and take some meaures as against such in case of next time.
3. Try to improve on yourself and learn more new things, such could be by improving your strategies.
4. Dont chase after loss or be in a hurry to play games or in making money.
5. Gamble with the amount of money you can afford to loss and dont borrow moeny to gamble.

If you lose small amount then the chance that you can still control your emotion is very possible unlike if you using huge amount which most of the time carried your emotions, when you lose you get aggreviated and you wanted to recover quickly, meaning that you'll add more money and probably the outcome still against you.

Better to stop and make sure to analyze, re-assess if possible and take some air chill yourself that helps to refresh your intention and avoid losing more.
Hmm, I myself think maybe it depends on us how we think about gambling itself, if our mindset responds to gambling as just entertainment then the amount of money lost will not be a problem but when our mindset considers gambling as a way to make money then the amount of money lost will affect our emotions and it can continue.

You are right, whatever the situation whether winning or losing then it is better to stop with the aim of calming down. Also, don't forget to do research first so that we don't have the wrong mindset in responding to gambling.

Is it really necessary that when you play gambling, you must lose a large amount? I'm just asking this. Maybe, the best thing a gambler should do in a casino is to have an amount limit to gamble on the gambling platform that he will be gambling on, the casino.

And once the limit amount deposited in the casino is exhausted, do not try to deposit money again on the day he played the game. This type of gambling is called being a responsible gambler and having self-control.

1. Accept the loss:
After accepting the loss the person should not chase his loss too because that will cause more harm to him. Many people would accept the loss but still want to win back the amount and from there continues losing has started.
2. Tell someone:
This is the most wrong or baddest advise ever. You want the loser tell someone about this loss. I don't know if you are real gambler. A big loss should be a top secret only to yourself and which tell a third party, it is no more a secret. And once others hear about it, your mockery point has been revealed to the World. They will use you to analyze gambling and label gambling as a bad activity. This is where the bad name for gambling comes in.

3. Socialize more, go out, play outdoor games, go on a hike with friends for a few days:
This pat is good. When the person is on depression because of the great loss then it is good he went out with friends to have funs. Do things to laugh and run around and if he is good in local football, he should play ball with friends
4. Take professional help:
This number four and the number two are just the same. And if the person wants to leave gambling then that is the time this two advises are needed. And if it is because of the loss then they are not needed.

And as the number five every human is a living testimony and according to the saying, if we are living, there hope. So one day he will get back that amount that he loss either in gambling or in another way.

1. Accept the loss:
I might be a bit advance on this one, but whenever I deposit my money on a gambling casino, I already consider it as a loss. That's my mindset and a way of tricking myself so that in the end, if I lose my money, it doesn't hurt me that much because I already accepted that the money I deposited is a loss. This is very hard thing to do especially for those who wants to make money with the help of gambling. Believe me, there are many gamblers that can't accept their losses, and the only thing that's on their mind is to recover those losses thus, depositing again, and the cycle is back yet again.

2. Tell someone:
This didn't help me TBH because at first place, I can control myself already, and I know what to do if I loss in gambling. At the end of the day, I already accepted it right from the start and yes telling it to somebody makes you feel better but for me, I don't even need to tell it to somebody because I can make myself better. Wink

3. Socialize more, go out, play outdoor games, go on a hike with friends for a few days:
Socializing more would be good for most people out there, but mine's different. Instead of socializing, I would rather go and play online games so that I can forget those losses. As an introvert person, being alone and playing online games is for me the best time in a day, so if I have the opportunity to do that, I will do it.

4. Take professional help:
This is for those who are completely addicted to gambling already that they can't control themselves anymore. Those who spent millions of dollars in gambling should really seek help from an expert because recovering from gambling addiction is very hard if you will do it by yourself. You need help from experts, professional and most importantly, your family.

Once a man, twice a child!
This sounded religious like what some pastors in the Africa continent would say just to cook up consolation for victims.
This just shows your prejudiced mental attitude toward third-world nations, for your kind information, 'I am a priest from India' Grin.
Sorry, I didn't know you've annexed India to Africa. It must be a latest development 🤔, right? Anyway, I hope I didn't touch a soft spot with the clergy thing. I'm African and what I said is what's evidenced in several parts of African countries. Facts are sacrosanct and they don't lie.

Gambling is done on one's own will and not because of anyone's coercion, and of course the Casino has given this warning so that those who want to get into gambling should think twice about the losses that can occur (but many ignore it).

Mistakes and losses in gambling make you or anyone learn that not only wins are obtained, but there will be quite painful losses that will make our psychology a little shaken. Especially if the money used is quite a lot.

If it's possible to get out of gambling to sigh for a moment, it may be better than continuing with a psychologically unstable one.

I have also experienced moments where my initial gambling looked really bad because of my ignorance of how gambling games work.
The $50 I deposited was just gone in an instant, but it was a lesson for me and I also didn't make gambling a place to make a lot of money, it was just a place of entertainment.

If the amount is something that you can afford to lose then it will really be not directly talking or speaking about on quitting gambling. The main issue for most gamblers is that on the time that they will really be losing up then they do keep on depositing until they will really be piling up their loses until they will really be not able to gamble anymore because they dont have more funds into their wallet or pocket.

When doing gambling then you should really be that wary about losing and winning thing. Never make yourself that be positive or being optimistic when it comes to gambling because it will really be just that making you desperate and this is something which is really that bad for it. When dealing up with this space then just for entertainment and thrill.
