Buy BTC ETH and maybe Lisk. You should split your risk with more than one coin. Also you can investigate other altcoins to invest but my suggestion is invest your money in Top 50 coins on coinmarketcap.
i would propobaly in vest half in btc and another half in btccash. this last one seem to have afuture in the faw months to come.
i would follow closely very promising icos and invest in a select few, it s a rather aggressive strategy but it has the potential to yield the highest roi.

I think of all of those three investments I will prefer to invest in LTC instead, LTC has a very low market cap compared to ETH and BTC so the potential for growth is higher and if you are an investor the thing you must care the most is to obtain profits, however if you want to take more risks then investing in an ico may be a better choice.So I will invest 50% in BTC

$5k is not so much, but we can still make a good portfolio with that. We can include some bitcoin, ethereum, sonm tokens, rivetz tokens, ethereum classic and monero for that.
The portion for each coin is not important. I have expectation from them, that's why.
Bitcoin might be 50% in weight in the portfolio.

With 5000 USD in my hand I will use to invest in BTC and BCH (50%: 50%).I think BTC and BCH will increase
If I had 5000 USD for crypto-coin investment only I spend it like that:
2500 USD keep it in BTC
1500 USD hold it in ETH
1000 USD divide between etc, ltc, waves, mnx, taas, neo, omg.

Every time when I see post like this, my advice is:
It depends of what profit you want to get. If you want fast profit you should invest in ICO but it can be more risky. If you want profit from a year or more, just hold bitcoins and etherium. I think this two are most stable and profitable for a long period. So it's up to you.

My choice is: ETH, Monero, Ripple
I would spend the 3kusd for BTC,and another 2k for the altcoins just to playsafe.

With small amounts of money, I would always invest it in altcoins. Sometimes an ICO if it looks good with a solid team backing up the project. Otherwise, I would put it in an altcoin that has been around the block for a while. Altcoins can make you money quicker than holding $5000 worth of bitcoin which is like 0.76btc.
