Originally H81 boards + risers where used on all MSI 480s. But somehow i had really big problems getting the rigs to work properly that way as soon as i went custom bios. I struggeled for a week before going onboard mounting to just get rid of the problems. My other 480s work great on a H81 board so far though.

The problems i had was that one or more cards randomly went to 0Mhs and then the rig failed. I tried pretty much everything in the book to find out what was wrong but never solved it completely. And when i had alot of other boards laying around i just wanted everything up and running. After that they have been running like clockwork 24/7.

Where did you get those frames that you mount the different rigs on?

Nice pictures, love seeing other peoples mining setups !!
Thanks !
I bought the frames some years ago from a guy here on bitcointalk.
They are originally made for five gpus but i flipped the psu and used zip ties for mounting to fit six cards on the 470 rig.

Nice, Im at nearly the same hashrate but higher total wattage. Im running old 7950s and 380s though. Id like to transition over to 480s as my hardware dies. The 7950s were bought to mine Litecoin and ROI'd then, so Im out nothing by continuing to run them.
Sweet man, gpus never seem to die except the fans Smiley
Pretty much all of the gear i use now is from LTC mining and then was switched over to early Darkcoin mining. It is only the gpus that is new stuff.
I never sell anything except gpus because i know i will end up mining something.

Feel free to ask about anything.

I saw you are using some Corsair RM series. You never had problems with PSU fans or melting pcie cable connectors?
I have been using many RM850s for a long time in different mining setups and no one have failed.
Back in the DRK mining i ran 5 x 280x on every RM850 24/7 for over a year without problems.
I have around six units and they are all still alive and kicking Smiley
