Anybody solved issue with 7970 ? I am running on 500 kHs. When I change gpu-threads from 1 to 2, it decrease cards to 300 kHs.

Do a search in this forum on how to flash the bios on 7970's. I've have 7970's that ran at 340kHs at intensity 13 and gpu threads 2. After flashing the bios on the cards they are running at 720kHs.

I already tried to flash bios. I have non OC version of this card (SAPPHIRE HD 7970 VAPOR-X GHZ Edition). When I flash recommended OC version, card will stop working and not start.
What version of GPU you have ?

Ok, then your cards/system doesn't deal too well with -g 2

Try: -g 1 --thread-concurrency 24000

Use the bins from: https://forum.litecoin.net/index.php?topic=6058.0, for a bit higher hashrate and test the various --thread-concurrency

I have the same problem with a very similar card.

Card is Gigabyte 7970 Ghz edition.

In addition to what Benjie did, I also flashed the 7970 OC version, switched to Linux, changed memory, removed one GPU card, switched to all Catalysty 12.8, 13.1, 13.4, 13.5 (beta) , 13.6 (beta), and SDK 2.7 and SDK 2.8, cgminer 3.11.2 till 3.2.2.

Still I can't get more than 540 kh/s.

what kind of psu are you using and how many gpus per rig?
Lol. My 7970 runs average of 750 KH...

Cgminer 3.1

cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://xxxxxxx -u xxxxx -p xxxxx -I 13 -g 2 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-powertune 20

Downloaded Catalyst 13.1, tried all the settings in the thread again it never goes above 700 ... Sad

Did you also try Catalyst 13.4?  (Or was it what you were having trouble with earlier?)

Yesterday I tried catalyst 13.4 and today 13.1, seems strange because some guy told me he has the same cards :S...

Which OS do you use?

If I were you, I would try Linux (a clean install) just to eliminate other possible causes of the problem.

HIS 7970 Flash bios 7950

GPU   1050  MEM  1250  Vol 1075

-I 13 --TC 8192 -g 2 -w 256  =>  73x KH/s

As far as I understand, however, we are talking here about a Gigabyte 7970 card:

Just to confirm: Do you have --scrypt somewhere in your command? How long do you let it run before you read the speed?

What happens if you try this one:

-I 13 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-engine 1080 --gpu-memclock 1500 --auto-fan -w 256 --shaders 2048 -g 2 --lookup-gap 2

Yes, I let it run for 30-60 secs then it appears to top... Thanks for your help, I think I caught the problem which is the drivers !!
Will try the new drivers tomorrow since I need to sleep..
And again thanks for helping !

I would leave it for 5 minutes if you want to be sure about the hash rate.

Leave shaders alone. And why do you run you mem so much higher than core? And up the -i untill the driver crashes and come back 1 level. The cards are playing chess with each-other at -i 13. Leave 13 on you card which is used for display and go up on the others. Your .bat should look like -i x,x,13 or 13,x,x depending which GPU u use for display. Spending 10 hours on the setting is not a lot. What happends if you run core=mem=1000?

I never use this pc, its made solely for mining also most people with 7970 at mining with much higher rates at -I 13....

The question is do you have/mined on a 7970?? because your post doesn't make any sense !!

I will admit I have not. Have you tried i>13 or just read about it? On every 7xxx card I've tried it increases the hashes. Is 7970 the spoiled child of the 7 family and it only likes 13? Grin
What exactly in my post doesn't make sense?

Try this:

--scrypt -I 13 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-engine 1080 --gpu-memclock 1500 --auto-fan -v 1 -w 256 --shaders 2048 -g 2 --lookup-gap 2

I am now running at Core 866 and Memory 1500, getting 610 kh/s per card... Since Memory at 1600 led the card to crash after 1 mins.
No I have 3 cards. And I don't have a cgminer.conf in the directory, I run a bat file.

-I 13 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-engine 866 --gpu-memclock 1500 --auto-fan -w 256 --shaders 2048 -g 2 --lookup-gap 2
