I was running 3 7970s(in two systems, with different CPUs) over 740 in minutes.

power tune +20

apply all settings at startup in MSI

Load MSI before cg

1070/1500 clock

intensity 13

worksize 256

g 2

tc 8192

core voltage 1063(probably should be a tad higher)

no fan settings - let it figure it out

4gb or more memory

delete the bin file before trying something else!

Well..post what you did...  Cool

I would love to post a simple config file but it's not that easy.

You just have to pay attention and keep adjusting engine/memory speed.

It's not difficult just intimidating to newer miners and frustrating.

A lot of rebooting and freezing but the outcome is a better hash rate.

If you want I can show you but I suck at explaining things.

No no..I dont have that much problem..it is just a matter of tweakin settings. I was hoping you would document what you did so people can learn. Really...the walk thru ckolivas did in the readme is outstanding. I sent a tip for the excellent free software we all love to use.(hint to all you new cgminer users out there)

I have a Powercolor 7970 and i was also dissapointed when i plugged it in and saw that it would get 540-610khs. Guys you are only going to squeeze 700 out of a 7970 after you have about 20 hours of experience tinkering with these things. I have tried many configurations and am getting a feel for how to tune it. I can run 600 comfortably, and 690 fi i push it pretty hard. If i push into the 700s my driver crashes after about 10 minutes. I think it crashes because my memory speed is cranked up but the temps seem fine with no rejects or HW errors. I heard it could be a Windows 7 bug.

I have a 7970 and I got it up to ~720Kh/s.

I did a lot of tweaking but you can try this:

http://www.judeaustin.com/theoretical-litecoin-gpu-settings/

That's what worked for me.

Hey Jude,

I was trying to send you a PM but i cant yet :/

I need some help with my 2x 7970s
If you could add me on Skype(same as username) or something that would be great

No problem.

I will add you right now.

I am home now.

PM me your TV details and we will get started.

This guy is legit; Re-Did my config & my 1x 7970 is doing 20% more KH/s due to him!

Thanks!

Happy mining!

I've been mining with a 7950 for a few days now and get 629khash consistently.  Intensity is at 20

Don't get frustrated.

Once you have increased memory and don't see a result start adjust engine speed, I would start going down a little bit on engine.

Anytime i touch engine clocks the kh/s go down. Could you look over my settings tell me how they look?

Also powertune 0 or 20?
lastly: why is activity only 62%

thanks

Post your config again.

I'll be home soon and if you have TeamViewer I could essentially do it all for you.

It would save you some time and frustration.

if you could do that i would eternally love you lol

Powertune should be set to 20 imo.

Have you gone over the scrypt README in cgminer?  Setting your thread concurrences might do the trick. You need to find the .bin file in cgminer..it will have a number.

Do you do live tuning or tune via your batch file?  I noticed that live tuning gave me really strange results and never showed the true output.  But when I closed the miner, adjusted the values in the batch, things ran way more smoothly.

Yeah, every problem that you're having, at least a few of us and probably most of us have experienced.  So, no need to get frustrated, plenty of help for you.  Try turning your gpu clock WAY down, to like 900/1000 with your gpu memclock at the max you've been able to run with stability.

Do you use these?

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1

Yes in my batch file

I've tried and its not moving. maybe 1kh/s - it's only using 62% of the GPU - Is there a reason for this?
0% powertune as well

I really am getting frusturated
