What would you advise to do for best security measures?  I am new to all this and all this talk of people having coins stolen makes me nervous.  I read also yesterday about someone who all of his BTC stolen from his MT.Gox account.
lots of threads in the bitcoin forum about Armory, paper wallets, deterministic wallets, and other measures to protect the stack.

i would just avoid installing any unknown code unless you trust the compiler and the person who compiled it.  i am ignoring almost all altcoins.  i'd rather lose all my initial mined coins in a shitcoin rush by leaving them on the pool, rather than risk the money i already have earned.

use VM and sandbox any unsigned/unvetted code.

avoid all online storage of any kind.

Very generous donation from someone! Has the mooncoin wallet trojan been verified? Makes me a bit uneasy reading that, but I know people scream virus on almost any wallet released (mainly due to false flags).
i was around for the mooncoin launch.  there was a trojan in one mooncoin wallet, not a virus.

Do we know which wallet version this was?
it wasn't a version; it was a 'compiled' 'wallet' posted by a user in the mooncoin thread during the initial-mine chaos that a few people installed and turned out to have a trojan in it.  IIRC it was off a mega file link.

ever since, i've only installed wallets in discrete VM, compiled my own where possible, and lately i haven't even bothered mining new coins because the risk of a trojan outweighed the possible profit from a new coin.  whenever someone has their coins stolen and posts one of these threads, usually they have a dozen or more different wallets installed on the same machine.  After seeing so many people burned, it just doesn't make sense for me to take the risk.

Rewarding stupidity is what it is.

Just answer the question as to why you kept that amount in a wallet accessible by external sources?

You have EXACT same thing as me. All Mooncoins stolen, I think there is exploit in the code or that the creator is some how responsible. I will spend my entire fucking weekend analysing the compiled binary with IDA.

EXACTLY same patterns as for me, first move small sum. Then move rest of the money.

I don't know if this would help you.  Silkroad Seized Coins  - https://blockchain.info/address/1F1tAaz5x1HUXrCNLbtMDqcw6o5GNn4xqX  Did they trace a wallet address?  The FBI got the wallet address of one of the silkroad people; right...or did they get the person, then the wallet?  I don't know because I am a noobie.  This thread really did make me feel sad for you and what has happened.  Could the police in your country help you trace the wallet address?  The transaction has gone across the internet so there must be an IP address associated with it surely? Like I said; I don't know 100%.

They actually caught the guy of SilkRoad in a public library while logged into his silkroad account which showed his BTC wallet of which contained over 24Million Dollars worth of BTC.

I can not reach to Devs of mooncoin.
I want to believe they can help me to get back my 100m.

is not it enough to track and find coins ?
so maybe they can bloke to these coins. Because these coins are stolen coins !!!

http://moonchain.info/tx/1080d45b71fe94dab4b0b0bbf30fe3ba9a0e5293449f21998ee1a61b3c71960d

you could reach them by irc, go check mooncoin webpage and get in there,
cryptocoins dont work the way your thinking tho, once the coins have left your wallet
they are gone, not even the developer can push them or block them back, they are now property of the end address,
its absolutly impossible to get them back unless you find the person who stoled them and make him send them back,
i hope i helped a bit to understand that issue, so as i told you before,

the moon community feels really sorry for your loss, and will share you some moons after you secure your pc and share your moon address  Smiley

so, pls secure your pc, start using passphrasses (thats why this ones exists) and please for love of god, if your saving a lot of
coins, it doesnt matter of wich coin, keep them in an offline wallet......

I talked to official moon coin thread creator.
I have learned sadly, There is nothing to do Sad
I hope Moon Community support, donate me to take a seat TO THE MOOOOON Sad

My moon Address is :

2QGfxHQ38orqgkPwh8MFURUhjJKCbebozA

Thank you so much in advance !

its sad but get your security in order before investing that much money in something like this.
Grab an old laptop or pc or something, install linux and use it only for your storage wallet. or do a long term store with a paper wallet.
make a small hot wallet on your normal pc for daily use.
