Hi, does anyone know if you can sell 8bit on yobit? Because I thought I read before we did not, but I see that 8bit is listed in yobit and now there are no more exchanges

I hope the stuff gets sorted out with Cryptopia soon! I love that exchange!

I'm new to 8Bit and Masternodes but not crypto wallets. I downloaded the latest version of the blockchain for 8Bit and seem to be having issues syncing extremely slow. Its so slow that I am now more behind than when I started. It seems that the blockchain is developing faster than the wallet can sync. I have also allowed all port access for the 8Bit wallet as well. If you guys have anymore helpful information plz seed.

Thanks!  Grin
You seem to be using Windows wallet. If your PC is powerful enough, try running a virtual machine with Ubuntu + 8bit wallet. Linux is the only way for me to work with this coin currently.

PS - It's been awhile since I've been in the forums. If my forum etiquette sucks, feel free to tell me. Thanks again!
I am happy to tell you everything was perfect etiquette-wise (as of yet) Grin

Alright drays, I installed Ubuntu in VMWare Workstation. Is there a wallet available for Ubuntu or does it have to be set up like a VPS Masternode and access everything from the VPS installation console? Also is this something I can run from a Vultr or Linode similar to Chaincoin's Masternode?

Thanks for all the info!

Yes, sure you can run it from Vultr or Linude. If you plan to run a masternode, you will need to use them anyway, to have static public IP.

There is no ready wallet for Linux (I actually doubt it is possible to have at all, as there are too many flavors for Linux). So you have to build the daemon yourself.

Use this instructions: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1028119.msg19946996;topicseen#msg19946996
Or these ones: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1028119.msg15242104;topicseen#msg15242104
Use whichever you like more... Smiley I have to tell I didn't test any of them myself though.

Excellent! Thanks drays!! I'll give it a shot asap!

Just send a few bucks to masternodes.pro. Would be great to get this listed so that when bittrex and cryptopia let loose we can fly!

I really hope 8bit project doesn't die off because it has many potentials....! Undecided

Agreed. If we can get Bittrex and Cryptopia with fully working wallets and some dev interaction here, this could really take off.

Ok, i had added the nodes previously, still stuck on 2 years 11 weeks.
But I'm not sure what to do with the link you sent, could you explain please?

Extract and replace the existing files in %appdata%\8bit
The file is the full blockchain up till a few days ago, ie you will only have to synch a few days worth of blocks.

Any word at all on Cryptopia wallet?

The last reply I got, was this one few days ago:

Quote
We are just worried as it seems that there are different forks in the wild. If you can give us some nodes that are on the correct fork then we will add them and look at taking the wallet out of maintenance.

Our main concern is that users with 8bit may want to withdraw to another exchange, if that exchange is on the wrong fork then it results in an awkward situation and cost for our support staff.

If you can confirm that the major exchanges trading 8bit are on the same as fork as us, while also supplying the developers supported nodes then we will, in good faith, update and take the wallet out of maintenance.

For the peace of mind of our developers it might best if the 8bit Dev is able to send us some confirmation and nodes to my email - <email address here removed by drays for security considerations>. I will still push this but the more info we have, the better!

Any questions please let me know.

I replied with the links to node information published in this thread, and the link to the official block explorer. Also I notified the developer, so he could additionallt send the needed info to Cryptopia directly.

Since that, I have no news from anybody. Not sure whether Cryptopia got the needed info from the dev or not. But in fact, the info publushed here on the thread is more than enough. One serious possible obstacle could be the fact that the official block explorer at http://explorer.8-bit.ga/ is usually behind real time, and currently is 3 days behind.

I don't know what else could I do Undecided Did anybody have any other contact with Cryptopia lately? In any case, whatever you write them, please DO NOT accuse them of staking the funds. Those accusations are insulting and are completely unproven, and they could do nothing but harm.

I contacted them yesterday and all I got was the standard response stating that the are investigating a fork. Even though I requested that they not give me the boilerplate answer that there working on investigating a network fork, that's still the only response I got.

I can understand that they may be working on something, but if I request a status and specifically ask for them to let me know exactly what's going on, and all they do is give the same crappy, uninformative answer they've been giving... makes me wonder what's up.

I didn't accuse them of anything, just asked for a detailed status, the current plan and any possible eta... got NOTHING in return.
